its only a good deal if cheaper than anywhere else

used to annoy me but realise if people stick to just the proper deals, then its fine.

vote all the others stone cold!

I'm just voting them all cold

It really annoys me as they're not really deals in their own right. They should be posted in the voucher's thread as examples of putting it to good use

Had the same idea when I posted the Tesco £15 off a £75 spend and suggested to keep in the one thread rather than clutter up the Forum with loads of Tesco deals using the code I found - 1st response I got was a negative one (suppose you can't please all the people all the time).

Completely agree. Had enough of this site today because of this,.

I come on here and about the first 4 pages was hmv posts with that code.

And now we have a Bargain Crazy code doing the same. Oh what joy

I think it is ok if it really is cheap.

So if your using a £15 off code and it only makes the item £2 cheaper than elsewhere then no.

But it it is making it cheaper by £10 then yes... as long as it is not a Very code.

They are still getting posted all the time aswell, it's clogging the board up.

Sloth/Mod

It's a right pain. I'm skipping deals till the voucher ends.

One way of dealing with it is suspending voting on a retailer like HMV when these vouchers are about and i bet the number of deals drop as you'll just get the genuine deal posters instead of the heat hunters.

I agree that there is a fine balance, like gary_rip mentioned; alerting other members to the best price of a certain item, but also bringing attention to how much better a price is now the voucher code has been applied.

It is probably too complicated to ensure a 100% accuracy rate (especially regarding items excluded from voucher code offers), but the active voucher code details could be taken into account automatically when listing/displaying a "deal" (i.e. you submit a listing for an item at £20.00 & if a 20% voucher code is active for the same merchant in the HotUKDeals database then two prices are displayed in the "deal" listing; £20.00 & £16.00).

Prices in the forum summary view could then be shown at their original price & also with the potential of a voucher code applied. There could be a setting to 'toggle' the display of the original price, the potential discounted price, or both prices concurrently at the top of the summary view (or it could be a setting on a member-by-member basis configured via respective Profile pages).

This may mean that there would be less incentive to (re-)list items at a lower price with a voucher code applied.
