Is is it ok to ask which branch and whether not there were any others on the shelf?

I totally agree. This forum is supposed to be built around trust. Seems ludicrous when the OP is genuinely trying to help others

I think that's acceptable but asking someone to upload a receipt for verification is wrong in my opinion. Seems to be far more common now, I had a bit of a rant in another thread and the poster seemed to think it was to protect HIS time. Absolutely ludicrous.

If someone in the office told you they bought a TV from X website and you asked to see heir order confirmation that would be a bit rude, wouldn't it?

I get your point and I do see how it can be offensive etc. But you must realise that sometimes some people just want 'heat' and recognition regardless of whether the deal actually exists or not...

If that's the case they should be banned or at least suspended from posting offers

completely agree, if someones good enough to share a deal, then they shouldn't be told to do that. Either take the chance and see if its available local or don't bother, having a receipt doesn't mean its available in every store anyway, so not sure what use it is.

I'm sick of seeing people ask for proof when someone posts a deal. This … I'm sick of seeing people ask for proof when someone posts a deal. This community is built on people submitting and sharing their finds yet are essentially called out for being a liar and therefore have to upload a receipt to prove the deal is legitimate. The nature of this site is built on risk/reward, sometimes you manage to successfully get a deal, other times you won't; you don't have a right or any guarantee this will happen. Some deals will be nationwide and others will be in a small Tesco metro miles away from civilization.I think people who ask for proof should be suspended/banned as it doesn't encourage people to share their finds on the site. Thoughts?

I can't work out if you are all genuinely been serious, So you actually think that a forum member should be banned for requesting proof on the internet? The same internet that is full of weirdos, paedophiles and other such acts of bull ****?

There are currently 43,000 people using this website at the moment, and you actually think that by asking one person to prove that an item they have found in a store to be proved by simply uploading a receipt should result in a ban?, If 10% of current people that are online viewed any specific deal that turned out to be a lie, it would result in 4300 people been led on a merry dance.

Unfortunately I have seen on numerous occasions posts that have been fabricated to gain heat, it's sad but it happens, I was once informed of a deal at Tesco's that never saw the light of day.

As for your question asking for thoughts......

I think people who ask for proof should be suspended/banned as it doesn't encourage people to share their finds on the site. Thoughts?

Grow up.

Well said Buzz, I couldn't believe the initial comment when I read it. Perhaps the offender should be publicly flogged as well!

I think the word 'proof' on this site is somehow perceived as if the person requesting it is claiming the OP to be a liar, But I mean come on, How can it be deemed wrong for somebody to request to see some kind of photographic evidence before possibly venturing out to try grab said offer?

OP can you please provide proof, that members are asking for proof?

It's easy to verify an online deal, it's there on the website for all to see. Offline deals can only be verified at the time of posting by the OP providing photographic evidence.
So instead of punishing the member for asking for evidence I would say that it should be a requirement for offline deals (especially these 'too good to be true' deals).

Hmmmmm not sure if serious or if I'm missing some inside joke.
Either way I'm booting up the laptop, opening Photoshop and making a 'industry for mod' one.
