Following on from my previous "Feedback" thread from just over a month ago (now Expired):

"[QUERY]: Why are the feedback thread titles being changed?"

(Why) Is the "Topic" of each Feedback thread now being changed to "Computers"?

Yesterday I found one of my Feedback threads originally created with a "Topic" of "Other" (as there is not an option of "Feedback" within the "Topic" list) had been changed to "Computers". I thought I had set the 'wrong' option when I created the thread.

This morning, every one of the "Feedback" threads I have viewed (mine, or any other) has the same "Topic" of "Computers".

I hope this has been an automated change across the entire database by way of an update to all "Feedback" records, rather than somebody manually working their way through each thread, but why not just introduce a "Topic" of "Feedback" instead?

This thread was created with the "Topic" of "Other".

helpers at work again?

It's the same in the competition section, everything that doesn't fit within the given topics that would normally be listed as 'Other' gets changed to 'Entertainment' even though it doesn't match the prize.

This isn't happening on recent threads FP, it's the same issue that was raised and addressed weeks ago. It's not happening now so there's no real issue here.

The only ones that have been moved (having spoken to the helper team) are ones that were assigned to the wrong topic initially. I've asked them all to not edit FB threads so we'll check the DB

Please do check, j_b, as Feedback threads I have raised within the last week have been changed (although I have subsequently changed these back to "Other"; so unless an audit trail/log is recorded of what changes occur, & at what date/time, then these threads will not be any use to review).

My deal thread listed today:
[ hotukdeals.com/dea…497 ]

My original title:
"Rango" [PS3 / Xbox 360] £13.99; [Wii / NDS]: £10.99 at GAME.co.uk

The title was changed between 4:30pm & 7:30pm today to:
Rango [PS3/Xbox 360] £13.99; [Wii/NDS]: £10.99 Delivered @ Game

I have now changed it back.

how come you never comment (mods as a whole rather than just you) again when what you say is proven wrong?

Admin

Not that I'm not commenting colin, the helpers aren't online 24/7 and nor am I. I can't comment on Fanpages link from 3 hrs ago until I can speak to the helper team. Nor can I check database log until I speak to the developers tomorrow. There's nothing to say on the issue at this point.

Fanpages thread regarding his own price amendment was one of the helpers making a mistake, they actually edited the thread because they didn't read the title entirely, and believed one of the prices was incorrect. They deleted the end of the title and at that point they realised that they were making a mistake and tried to correct it.

the one from 3 days ago was the one I meant, if you knew what the problem was why not comment at the time, people take time to report things that are wrong and half the time they are ignored, if you know what the problem is surely you could just pop a quick coment into the thread, its just polite to do that at least surely?

Admin

Fair point. I'll subscribe to the thread for updates in future and keep an eye on it.

Just a quick update, we're thinking about setting up a thread changelog so you'll be able to see who's amended your threads. Will let you know more in the next few days

Thanks. Being able to see which member has added tags to a thread may be very useful & being able to see which member has clicked 'Expire' &/or 'Spam' too.

if all that is going to show is which helper got bored and made an **** of needless meddling then I doubt its worth the time and effort when a word in said helpers ear would be better.

however as bfn fp suggested it would be useful if it included who expired, spammed and added tags etc.

Was it decided that the "thread changelog" feature was not needed, or has the implemented been deferred, j_b?

Thanks for any additional information.
