im struggling to find things also. I am having to press different icon to see what is behind them. However after a while we should get there. Change is a challenge...... Lets keep investigating....

The new search uses boolean search function which should be more powerful than the old search.

Put + in front of words you require and - in front of words you want to exclude. If there are no + or - it considers it an OR statement.

Try that and let me know what you think

Thanks for your reply.
I had tried. It's still OR rather than AND.
For example, try search Canon+ EOS +400D .

I have been looking for a deal I saw maybe a month or so ago, for 2 days now & getting more & more pi$$ed off, although it could be with myself! It was a code for one of the camping websites, can't remember which one though, tried canvas holidays, keycamp & eurocamp. I also made a comment on the deal & can't find anything when I use my username in the advanced search, can anyone help?

You would need to put in
+canon +EOS +400D

A space between each word, with a + in front of each

Thanks. But this is not the problem. The result of canon +EOS +400D, which is correct, is the same as +canon +EOS +400D, though not as canon+EOS+400D (this is not fault tolerant or flexible). But there is one bug: after you click the second page, the result turns to that of any key words.

Yes, I believe this is a known bug that has been pointed out elsewhere.

Thanks. Hope this issue can be sorted out ASAP.

And the other problems, the search misses a lot of posts matched, the phrase matched in the result are not highlighted in colour, are also very serious.

I think the quick search only searches the original posts and not comments. To search comments to I believe you need to use advanced search.

Thanks for helping with the bug shooting - it's appreciated.

My pleasure. I like this site and would like to contribute to its improvement.

It seems that the quick search would get more results than the advanced one. Try to search nokia +months +free +rental +(black).

In addition, try to search LG +PRADA +free +line +rental, it cannot find hotukdeals.com/for…31;

It finds it for me. Have you got "include expired" turned on?

Yes. You're right. Thanks for the tip.

But the quick search still gets more results than the advanced one

Glad to read that there is a way of doing an AND search, although I would prefer it was the default.
Another thing missing is a "search this thread". Some of the threads I've been monitoring are 50 pages long and there's some really useful stuff in there, but finding it without this feature takes ages. I'd be really grateful if that could be added, or if you could point it out if I've missed it!
The new site takes some getting used to and I'm concerned it will frighten off new users, but I've got used to it now and the categorisation is really useful.
