Just to add, the quality of this site really drops on a weekend. Maybe you should look into that.

I know what you mean, I posted greggs pasties from Iceland and after it reached over 200° someone edited the weight on ???? like what's the point now pointless

Had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks ago, posted a deal about a few things cheap on Tesco Direct and then someone added in something like 'Huge toy sale!!' at the start of the title even though the deal had no toys in. I removed it from the title and then about an hour later someone added it again. It didnt even make sense.

The mods/helpers seem to be against people posting, we all know what a Gregg's pastie is regardless of the grams. They do look out for their own though so I doubt anything will change even though us losers who post for free allow them to put in a invoice every month.

To be clear I am excluding the normal mods like gooner/neotrix etc that let us do our own thing during the week.

Couldn't agree more. This Site has changed over the years. The Mods have changed and some brought in without HUKD in mind Just about volume over the long standing members.

This will end in a ''Please use the contact us'' line and likely be locked.

I see that a lot in the feedback forum even though I would like to add to the discussion I usually find out I can't.

Before added by the Mods " Thread locked please use "Contact us " " Then absolutely nothing will happen - as always ! Just saying from multiple experiences of using "contact us"

Personally I don't believe there are the number of Mods they would like you to think . I believe the 4 or 5 (maybe ) given Mod status pick a Mod username off the rack for their shift . Lets face it 1970 members on line at the moment hardly justify the 40 or 50 "Mods" HUKD would like members to think they have ( I remember when it was always 20000 + members on line ) . Would be really interested to know if anyone has ever had a helpful response from "Admin" via "contact us" ? Highly unlikely as "Admin" is just another username taken off the peg by the 4 or 5 moderators .

HUKD could help to regain its credibility by not treating its members as 8 year olds .

I'll need to check the edit logs to review what has been changed, by who and then I can start to figure out why. Leave it with me and i'll look at this.

Not at all. I checked with the team the last time you said pretty much this and I was given details of the times you'd emailed in and also when a reply was sent to you. Just because you disagreed with the reply you received does not mean that nothing happened.

Threads are locked when an issue is concerning a specific account concern or when the team need to refer/escalate something. Leaving threads open can sometimes be counterproductive because issues get muddled or members just cannot stick to the topic at hand. For example, rubbish like mods picking usernames off a rack and us trying to make out we've 40 or 50 mods. Strange.

come on jay you know this is a problem, how many times have people posted that they have been ignored? i have had it myself probably a bout 50% of the time i used contact us. its the same email with the same settings so how come its everybodies elses fault?
is it any wonder people start to question this when something as simple as replying to an email 'gets lost'?
surely you'd have a failed delivery message anyway?

threads are locked much too quickly without even being read, i made a thread about an issue saying that i had already used contact us.... the thread was locked and was told to use contact us - erm duh?

We're always going to disagree on this so I can only back it up with the facts i've got from the team....

You messaged on 02/08/2016 at 10:14am and the team replied on 03/08/2016 at 11:14am

At the moment the average turnaround time for contact messages is 4 hours and 43 minutes for the past week week, 6 hours 35 minutes for the month and 8 hours and 46 minutes for the year. Bearing in mind that there is no "shut off", I don't think that is bad at all.

"how many times have people posted that they have been ignored?" - considering the thousands of messages that come in if it was a widespread problem as you suggest I think we'd be inundated with complaints which we clearly aren't.

If the team get a bounceback they'll look to get in touch with the member on the boards and explain that there has been a problem and they ought to review their registered email address.

I want to leave it there with reference to Contact Us as that isn't what this thread is about. Any other concerns please send me a message or email the team back (that goes for any member with a concern about the system).

Sorry oUkTuRkEyIII for taking your thread off topic with the reply above. I'm still looking into your concerns and as soon as I'm done i'll be in touch. You're right though, no additions should be made to a thread (apart from missing the basics like merchant, price/min spend and product).

Is there an automated system editing the descriptions ?

This has happened a few times recently. I've posted a "deal" and the text has been bunched up together like in the example below but than it's been spaced out afterwards and I've had to delete the spaces.

Hey Bashstreet,

No automation on editing, but we are testing a few things in regards to editing, so this may be an unwanted side effect of your post being edited. Like magicjay1986 said earlier, we should only be editing threads to add or amend the basic information.

My apologies for the inconvenience. We will see if we can replicate this and get it reported to avoid it happening in future.

Thanks

No its not what you do, that has never happened. If people want to help why didnt they just change the link. You have never added which one is out of stock in the title so with all due respect Jay dont feel like you have to lie to me.

It is what we do. If one is out of stock the title gets edited and the thread is left active. The link should also have been changed to the PS4 version so it doesn't land on the expired product.

have never seen that before, seems pointless
fair enough remove xbox from the title but why the need to edit the other rubbish in? titles need to be less wordy not more wordy
an edit in the description is surely more than enough

Edit only in a description is no use for people in Text Only view. They'll not see it and click through wondering why the thread is still listing an OOS item as available. Its a quick note for the benefit of members, nothing more.

This is completely different to the needless edits which i've already said above do not need to happen (and the team have been generally reminded about it).

why would they still click through looking for an OOS item if it was simply removed from the title?

I don't know if you actually believe it is what you do or it is what you should do because i have had a lot more thread views than you and i have posted a fair few deals more than you and i am confident that it does not happen, but whats it matter you're not gonna change what you think.

You have took my voting off me, you have hijacked 3 threads in less than a week. I have taken the hint.

(not you personally)

I've sent a general reminder to the team about needless edits to threads. Let me know if you see any others and i'll take a look and see what is going on. Thanks.
