How do you find these 'ancient' threads ?

I certainly wouldn't be adding anything to a thread more than a few days old unless the post merited it,

I imagine people google their own problem, and are led here with a link, They comment (not realising the datedness) which bumps the thread, then others read it and comment/try to help until some bright spark notices how old it is.

See here and here

Only need to glance under the thread title to see how old it is.

New members arriving via search engines are likely to have their 1st post moderated, however that one appears to have slipped though. For the 2nd link you supplied, the general question may still be valid, hence why the post was approved.

We did have a slight issue before where threads containing a post for moderation had been bumped prior to approval. That's not the case any longer, although due to the sheer volume, 1 or 2 do slip through prior to being removed again.

If we see a high volume of new members bumping very old posts, we'll see if we can implement a solution, but at the moment, I think we have it in hand.
