The whole site has been a mess for the past 2-3 months if you ask me. Used to be great but now I constantly just get deals that are old listed as new

I agree with Stevemack. I also can't sort by heat properly, amongst many other issues. Due an update I think! Are you also on the app?

Because It sorts them by the time at which they got hot (hit 100).

To sort by heat, you need to use the advanced search option. Put in your criteria, whether you want a day, week, 2 weeks etc. Then sort results by temperature in descending order.

The deals that appear on the hot page are listed in the order that they reach 100° with newest at the top. This has always been the case with the exception of any picks that are selected by the team to remain in a prominent position.

To be honest many of the the best deals aren't hot . There is a lot of sheep voting on here So I would suggest that if you are looking for say , a Laptop or maybe trainers ,perhaps Argos deals then put them in "Search " and go by the comments . Many things go Hot on here ,similarly cold without a constructive comment oO Never buy on heat alone , do what most intelligent members do and read the comments ,ask questions etc .

I just searched for "mp3 player" on my phone.

Top results were samsung tvs, prams, car shampoo, baby seat, wall climbing car, gopro, leather phone case and a few tablets.

its ridiculous to have that as the default sort criteria

Why irrelevant? Surely it's best to have it that way otherwise you'll just see all the same hottest deals

but you dont see the hottest deals, you see the most recently made hot
what does that matter?
you can get deals that are weeks old scraping 'hot' that are 'hottest' - if its that slow then its irrelevant and if not then possibly gone (expired is useless as noone uses)
if its a recently made deal and recently posted it will be on 'new'
if its a good deal but the dumb masses haven't yet voted it hot then you wont see it so chance of missing
as it stands its pretty crap, even a filter to remove cold deals (or non hot) (and/or) over x hours would be much better
