Venom voice actor Tony Todd leaks the release date of Marvel’s Spider Man 2 on the PS5 in a tweet.
Apart from a late 2023 release date for Marvel’s Spider Man 2, there’s not been much other news on the new game release, until now.
Information has been scarce since the short trailer of the game was released back in 2021. However in a tweet, Tony Todd, the voice of Venom, announced that the PS5 game could be released in September.
Tony Todd also says “massive publicity” and commercials are coming in August.
Skipping PS4
Marvel’s Spider Man 2 is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The official line is it’s due out in the autumn and will be exclusive to PS5, skipping a release on PS4.
In the game, players can play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. This was first suggested in the trailer revealed at the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase.
The game is also expected to include suit powers, which players can use to gain an advantage in combat.
Villains in Marvel’s Spider Man 2
There will also be other villains to face off against, with Kraven the Hunter being a possible candidate based on the speech in the trailer.
Insomniac Games seems to be gearing the story towards the scarier villains in Spider Man’s rogue’s gallery. There’s the inclusion of Venom and potentially Kraven the Hunter. The game may also feature other frightening characters like the Lizard, Morbius, and the Jackal.
While the game is set in New York, Insomniac Games may include other locations to explore. This is thanks to the PS5’s SSD storage and power. Doctor Strange could transport players to other realms, or the heroes might go on the run if they find Kraven the Hunter too deadly a threat to handle.
