Made of lead (or other carcinogenic materials).......?

Yes clearly that's the case because
1 - Lead is such a famously shiny material that would work well as a thin sheet of metal with small loops that you close together what with it being so soft and malliable
2 - Steel is so impossibly expensive a cheap model made of a thin sheet of it couldn't possibly be a thing

Anyone had these or the other versions? What's the quality really like?

Made a few of these now. Quality is spot on, despite what the pessimists on here would lead to you to believe.

If you enjoy puzzles, making models, and/or small scale precision work, these can be very enjoyable. They can also be incredibly time consuming and require patience, especially for the more complex models, but they look great if you put the effort in. I appreciate they ain't going to be for everyone, but I wouldn't let the comments here detract you!

Made of lead (or other carcinogenic materials).......?

They are very fiddly, but much easier to make if you have some small pliers to bend the pieces when necessary.

So keep you frock on, and stop being such a drama queen.

"Darwin at work" Normal people won't even know if they've made a mistake, that's a bit of a nonchalant attitude to have for the potential for rooms to catch fire.

From my time it seems like 99.9% of them are fine, but 0.1% is too high a failure rate when it comes to fire.

Maybe you'll be lucky and a part will just burn out, but no amount of money is worth risking your life or home with these fire hazards.I've been part of a lot of these community groups, and the frequency I see users post about waking up, coming home from work, smelling smoke upstairs to find that something went wrong with it is scary. These things are dangerous, if you want to experiment with this hobby get one from a genuine manufacturer (some of which are from china as well! They aren't all bad). For a bit more you can get the monoprice mini (which still requires a mosfet but would still be safer than this).

I have bought loads of things from the Chinese sites and was not charged a single penny in extra import/tax duty fees. Most recently was a Xaiomi Mi drone , over 300 notes , no duty . Previous items a few years ago was a xK Detect Drone ,over 200 notes , no import duties. I now use Aliexpress for most items and again never get stung with import duties.

The price on which duty and VAT is based is purchase price PLUS shipping …The price on which duty and VAT is based is purchase price PLUS shipping cost. They are UK Customs rules. They are also the rules in most non-EU countries we ship to.

Not according the the HMRC website, parcel value + postage = Duty value only applies to certain carriers. I already knew this because I take custody of low value parcels that cost a bomb to post from China - and dont pay any VAT or duty on them, even though the shipping cost is over £100.
(The guy could save a fortune shipping it by boat and planning 3 months ahead, but he leaves it until the last minute and ships large volume, low weight and value parcels by air).

If you genuinely think this anniversary copy in an unrelated format will become so sought after it will bring home the readies in years to come, be my guest! Buy a pallet load and store them in your vault next to your deeds to a couple of acres of land on Mars!

I said the same thing because you clearly have issues with understanding.

As usual people like you then take you point to the extreme to mask the fact that you are trying to argue an arguement that isn’t there.

No one suggested buying multiple copies.

You clear dont understand about games collecting or what makes something collectible.

I have been into collecting rare/limited games and based on my experience the limited releases always gain value. I have a vita game that digitally can be had for £1-£2 but the physical copy I’ve got is the second rarest viva game worldwide, going for £250 you clearly have no experience because of the way you are talking. Original copy of duke is worthless because there are millions of it around, unless you’re looking for sealed copy which has gained value due to that.

However it's one of the few purchases I made that I regretted pretty quickly. The picture quality isn't that great. Dark scenes are almost indecipherable & the screen reflects badly. The 'smart' functions were nigh on useless and aged very badly. The Panasonic app store was very poor and nothing updated. I ended up going to a Fire box for stuff like stuff like TVCatchup. At the the time I was under the impression that Panasonic stuff was something special and paid over the odds for for the TV. I no longer think that. If I had my time again, I would have gone for a no-brand plain vanilla TV for half the price and upgraded to 4k more quickly.

Not sure what this comment has to do with this particular model. All TV manufacturers make TV's of varying quality.

Smart TV's have come a little way in 5 years but none are particularly great (in my mind) at this point in time.

i saw this on sky store and wondered if i should pay to watch it but the reviews are so bad on this, i thought it is better to wait for it to get to sky cinema then we can watch it for free.

sounds like we won't even want to watch it for free. lol.

Trust..

Trust it to break

That was the joke everyone must have said about Trust and their cheap mice and keyboards everyone has owned at some point.

Very poor phone holding mechanism, the parts which grip the phone are very tight and press the side buttons, turning the volume up/down or locking the screen. I've tried it with a Nexus 5, Oneplus 3, Samsung galaxy S8 it's the same with each of them. It's now gathering dust in the bedroom because it's not as good as the £1 cardboard version. Avoid.
