GoPro deals on here recently for under £130 with 4k, image stabilisation etc. Nevertheless, I'm not comparing with a GoPro. I just don't think there's any point in a low quality, poor battery camera that will undoubtedly be worse than the phone in your pocket (and no more resilient). There are some good budget action cams from Yi and others, but this isn't one of em.

Useful even if you just use it as a WiFi access point with a data SIM on board and the range is remarkably good. Battery life for such a compact device is good too (1275 mah) so should last for a couple of hours in use.

Not really. Its not a go pro but it’s not a go pro price. As a cheap action cam it’s fine just don’t expect UHD from it. The image is perfectly acceptable in decent light but it’s no good in low light situations. Are the videos shakey depends entirely on how it was filmed. It’s only the latest go pros (5&6) that have image stabilisation and they start at £300. They only power off after 30 mins if in standby not if they are recording The live streaming no longer works on IOS but as I said fir a £20 cheap camera it’s not bad.

It's dead cheap for a reason I suspect, their own brand cameras have been crap before

It's junk, save your money. Crap image, crap battery, no stabilisation, unusable footage.

No, ships from Manchester. Haven't received mine yet, but only ordered on Friday or Saturday, so shall give them a bit of a chance. There is no manufacturer warranty, as its the international version without Samsung pay as well. There is a 1 year seller warranty, but I wouldn't bank on that. All that stuff doesn't bother me personally, but if it does you, then I wouldn't bother lol Here's the link anyway

It is underrated, but, the mix 2s and mi8 are both cheaper by a clear margin. As Sam says, Asus originally used intel soc's for a while and they haven't been marketed over here too well either. It's only us phone geeks that know that Asus do phones. Btw, I've only known that this phone is so good because of this post 😚 Heat added for the price!

Hi res audio, nfc, gorilla glass 5, all metal design and a better camera spring to mind. Just a few things. I'm not disputing the Poco dot bikini phone is a game changer, but it just doesn't feel like a flagship with the Samsung galaxy S5 plastic back, and no nfc (not that i use it) but I'd like to have the choice. I'd prefer a proper flagship, and paying an extra £80 for something like this or the mix 2s is something I'd do, and have done, having the mix 2s as my daily phone.

Pocophone has Snapdragon 845 inside like this phone and made by Xiaomi so hot

I'll let you know when I get it, I literally just bought it yesterday from eglobal, should be here in 6-8 days. I have read a ton of good reviews though and that's why I decided on getting it.

Used Live Chat with Customer Services to get this tariff. Confirmed as £9 in their email. Asking for anything other than one of their current rates would require a phone call to Retentions.

Yeah but not having 800mhz may not cause you any problems. I got a sim for my mate from Plusnet and he is not having problems. Mobile network coverage depends on where you live and travel.

Don't do it bought one of these last year from Same place, think i even posted on here. Got stuck in boot loop other day bricked now. Huawei pos phone, my nexus 5 is still going string dont touch 6p

Battery size isn't a good indicator of battery life. The Kirin 955 was much less of a drain on the battery than the SD 810. The SD 810 also had serious overheating issues.

Better battery? Jeez! Wow (highfive) 3000mAh on P9 and 3450mAh on Nexus 6p. special day today

Much better processor, much better battery, much better camera, much better disign and build quality. Tbh that is just one example, there are many new phones that would be better than the 6p at this price range. Oh and the 6p has an issue with bending.

The identified issue is auto-shutdown with (a device-reported) 50+% battery remaining - analysis suggests a hardware problem possibly exacerbated by aging batteries - the hot and hungry 810 probably doesn't help matters either ... there was talk of a class action in the US. I'm about to get my battery replaced (a risky process, everything is glued) to see if it solves the problem, but right now I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone...which is a shame, because fully working it's a cool device.

These are cheap for a a reason. Overheating , random crashing and lots of other bugs are reported. This phone reminds me on the Newman N2 i bought a few years ago for about £90 ( it was a £300 phone in China when it came out) . On paper the specs were great but It had lots of issues that were never fixed.

No B8/20.

Run Kaspersky on it and should be fine

A KFHD can't take a SIM for network phone calls/texts/data, which this can do. I wouldn't buy it as it has an outdated OS, which they rarely/never update. A custom ROM based on a newer Android version has probably been created for it on XDA-Developers or elsewhere, but these are far from perfect & usually removes/cripples some functionality. Plus it also involves unlocking the bootloader & rooting, which cripples some apps.

Awful. At this price you're better off with a Kindle Fire HD or something.

Would never buy any of these obscure Chinese brands, Cubot, Umidigi etc. Even the names are hilarious

umidigi stuff their phones full of unremovable spyware and adware, steer well clear. No way I'd ever consider buying one again after getting burned with one of these.

why is it weird? its 19:9 so its down with the cool kids, low res for cost/power

Got a umidigi phone about a year ago and it was awful. Slow, clunky interface and touch recognition, really really rubbish camera. It was a nightmare to use. I couldn't recommend the brand after that.

Get a good and trusted brand like Xiaomi or something else I wouldn't go with brands like UMIDIGI

No you won't, is the simple answer, lol. As long as you're savvy enough to follow the 'appropriate' measures when initially ordering from such?. There's numerous Post's on HUKD in the past too, talking about/explaining about such already, etc, etc?, lol. :-)

I remember reading about the different screens but never considered it could impact battery. Found an old thread<. It seems mine is the Tianma one. Apparently the other screen was provided by AUO<. I tested a few custom ROMs which claimed to have better battery performance but they seemed to all be around the same so I figured it was down to processor efficiency. In terms of Xiaomi phones, the Mi Max 2 and RN4 with SD625 are the top in endurance having 126h and 119h, whereas Redmi 3S is a little further down the list< with 104h.

To be honest you seem to know more about it than me. It was a long time ago, I remember thinking it was due to the screen the Battery drain. I think it was manufactured by jdi, and the review units which had better energy performance was a sharp one I think. I bought the phone used and used a custom ROM on it(angel and demon) so it was probably that. The battery drain was fast, but the charge was rapid. I've noticed that the mediatek based phones are very fussy about what charging u use to get fast charging. The L2 seem to have great endurance tbh. But the best I've seen is the redmi 3s Snap dragon, I buy far to many phones haha.

Unlocking B20 wasn't possible for RN2. There was however a China TDD-LTE version and an FDD-LTE version which were sold as having different bands. Sellers just claimed to unlock FDD-LTE version bands (B1, 3, 7) on TDD-LTE model. See post #4 on this thread<. It later became known that both had the same bands, since it's hardware based. See thread here<. The battery drain would be due Mediatek Helio X10 in the RN2 being inefficient. The original RN3 has the same Helio X10 processor and then they changed to the Snapdragon 650 RN3 giving better performance and efficiency. Battery life endurance at the bottom of GSMArena comparison< jumps from 72h to 93h. RN2 has 49h rating although it has 1000mah smaller battery. Not sure about current Mediatek as I've only ever had the RN2. However in general they seem to be less efficient than a Snapdragon of equivalent performance. Sony Xperia L2 vs Redmi Note 5A< for example. Xperia L2, Mediatek, 3300mah. Note 5A, Snapdragon, 3080mah. Both 5.5" 720p screens. Xperia L2 has 65h endurance rating whereas Note 5A has 74h.

MIUI version Android version 8.1.0 no updates available, I've just checked. Let me know if you need more?

Thanks for the update Steve can you tell me which version of ROM its running please?

Nothing in general, I'm just constantly on forums like this, surfing the net, on whatsapp constantly these days, so feels like my screen is constantly on. I'm not a gamer, csnt get away with playing games on mobile, it has just never been the same experience as an console for me.

I'm still playing with it (sorry, testing it!). No problems so far, no lag no screen stutter. The only very slight glitch I had was it didn't download the APN settings for Virgin, so I had to add them manually. It's the first phone I've had for years that needed that. But took only 2 minutes so no great problem. I'm not an action gamer, so I can't comment on that, but I've watched a review playing PUBG and there didn't appear any speed or lag problems... If you let me know what you run I'll give it/them a try and let you know how it goes?
