Has you consider a camper (RV)? We did ours in a camper picked up from ApolloRV in San Francisco, driving down highway 1, stopping at Carmel, Big Sur, etc all the way down to Pismo Beach then in-land to Yosemite Park then back to San Fran, 7 days in total. https://www.apollorv.com/

id0ru

Great effort dude.

badgerman2

Love road trips in California. It's huge, and so interesting. Couple of years ago we did LA, San Fran., Napa, Mammoth Lakes, Death Valley, Vegas, Hoover Dam, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon back to LA through Vegas. I think it was 16 days - never felt rushed, roads were fine apart from LA and central San Fran.

TimmyD

Would this be suitable to do with kids?, they would be 12 & 8 by the time trip came round. They would love this as youngest has list of places he'd love to go and LA is on it. Thanks

BuffMan

Great trip, i did it in may this year. I was lucky to book flights about 8 months on advance heathrow to LAX return for about 400pp including 2 cabin bags. I would recommend getting a mustang if its only £200 more. In terms of that route i would try add a couple days in san diego and maybe take 1 out of LA and maybe one out of santa barbara. Id agree with the generally high cost of living/eating and terrible £ to $ conversion currently (about 1.22). Think it cost me about £2000 for 18 days (2 people)

go for it. you don't need the parks. try Gatorland for the kids and you don't need to eat in expensive places Use coupons and that covers your tips. We got a deal. booked on Tuesday and go tomorrow.

There's so much more to Florida than Disney - and mid summer is a horrible time to go: 'mad dogs and Englishmen' weather while the Americans who winter there get out for summer and hurricane season.

mattinhull

Good price but this is just the start for four of you u should add at least another 3k for food tips tickets and generally having the time of your life coz I don't see the point in going all that way if you can't afford to do it properly and 7 days isn't enough time to do everything.😁😁

Toptrumpet

The hotel looks a bargain, but park tickets are expensive, plus food, plus tips, plus possible car hire, plus souvenirs, this holiday could easily end up costing 2-3 times the headline price ;(

If you have kids then zoomarine is a good day out. Self drive dune buggy safari things is a good half day. Albufuira old town is nice to walk around, lots of nice bars, restaurants, gift shops etc. New town strip lively and brits abroad at night (fine if thats your thing) but pleasant enough during the day / early evening. Oura is a nice wee bit, sol cafe is nice, say hi to Lewis, chineese buffet in oura is good as is the tiny wee indian restaurant up the road and the wander inn.

I attended a wedding her a few years ago, the food was mediocre at best and the room we stayed in was small and in need of modernisation and maintenance. However we paid more than the price of this deal for the room only. The public areas of the hotel and grounds are more appealing and of the period. It would have to have deteriorated further for it not to be good value at the price of this deal. Heat added!

Speedbirdjw

Yeah I went there only in the last couple of months. Not saying it’s terrible by any means but our view was nothing like the pictures and we found the staff to be a bit rude. Came knocking on our room 10 minutes before checkout telling us it was time to leave etc. At £69 just be prepared to go with realistic expectations. I’m back down there again today visiting family as it happens

frankie1g

Yep my children are a credit to me. And behave 10 x better than most adults on holiday

n9801904

I'm local and know it well - it has been up and down over the years but it has recently been spruced up and has new management so hopefully it's improved. There are some really nice walks straight from the hotel (Wessenden Valley, Black Hill, West Nab) - it's right on the edge of the Peak District national park.

Great find. Booked :-) Although flying from Leeds. Manchester airport with it's 2 hour security queue (there were 6 people missed the last flight I was on from Manchester) and the rip off parking is a nightmare. Was actually a couple of quid cheaper from Leeds 2nd - 6th October.

spuffy1979

Looking at the reviews for the hotel on Tripdvisor, I'm really not too keen! comments about the hotel keeping the 100 Euro security deposits for one reason or another

Loathecliff

Ryanair are OK, it's Manchester airport security's ability to not give a damn about us cattle and our belongings that has stopped me from ever using it again for outgoing flights.

If you are looking at September or October you may want to check when their swimming pool closes. I know the water parks close sometime in October but I'm not sure about the hotel pools.

MichaelGaughan

I also agree but nearly £200 difference in flight price (not forgetting Ryanair add ons) on this occasion justifies the transfer I think 😁 not sure a £76 flight for two can be beaten to be honest. The rooms have sold out on the site in question.

I liked how it wasn't trying to be another simplified film tie-in game. It's similar to Pikmin but executed badly. If you're not careful you can lose all the impas against a boss and have to grind gathering impas again (forced quit many times to avoid this). Game could've done with a map once in a level, some actual quality control (impas constantly get hooked on corners as they follow you) and a longer timer.

MajorCheese

I'd disagree really, but it's a personal opinion. I'm a massive gamer and with pc/ps4 never really needed a hand held. Younger gamers need the flex more. But it's true it's great for older gamers too.

UltimatePhoenix

Its hard to start off with until you collect more Impas and level them up, once you complete it your practically invincible but theres no end game content so its pointless giving you all the best stuff at the end

worf201

I don’t think the main market it for little kids, it’s just for gamers.

MajorCheese

Reviews show it as too hard for little kids (main switch market).
