Yes they have your photo on

Kev.The.Kopite

Does anyone know if there have your photo on?

Gaz1972

Where did you get that from, as it wasn't like what you are saying last year. Have you got a link to go to where it says that.

Gaz1972

Are you sure, as I saw last year that passes were reduced from 139 to 109, and that was not just for renewals.

Since the tragic accident they have become very very risk averse. If the operating instructions say the ride can't operate below 5 degrees, they are no longer operating. If a safety sensor reports a problem they are shutting rides until it is thoroughly checked and safe to re-open.

abigsmurf

The reason for the accident was because a ride engineer ignored alarms, didn't visually inspect the the track and used a manual over-ride to send out a car full of people whilst the ride was in test most with an empty car stalled on the track. It was fairly breathtaking incompetence from one of the most qualified positions and not related to maintenance. Before this accident Merlin haven't really had any major incidents at their parks (worst incidents were heart attacks or people hurting themselves on paths). They've a better safety record than Disney (who've had a number of grizzly accidents).

Mahoostar

That’s good! I hope you all have a fantastic time 😁👌

steevieboy4u

Top tip. Not been for years. As others have said after all the controversy with the big accident it's definitely lost its 'attraction' though

Biggunspaul

Not always so. We stayed at the enchanted lodges in the summer and we had to use a ticket to get out.

£55.00 Direct with Alton Towers

sneakyduck

my then 5 yer old loved it, but he didn't want to go back this year. it's very much geared to fans of cbeebies.

moonhead75

The rides in CBBies land are a bit naff for a 10yr old but we took our 10 & 8 yr old a couple of years ago and they loved the water park and hotel so weren’t too bothered about the park. Go for it

BigPro

Sounds like a good deal but no dates available for weekend of 22nd December which is when we would be looking to go

BobsterG

Fab deal but It’s a shame there are no deals for in between Christmas and new year.

mickyd8800

Already booked this this morning after receiving an email about it after previously doing something similar last year, it was a bargain then and even better now, as this time it includes dinner at the rollercoaster restaurant and a selection of rides in the theme park which were all off last time, can’t wait to go! A con!!! £55 for a years entry!!! That's cheaper than a day pass !!

jamesturner280783

Not bad if you visit twice a year but I agree the place has gone down hill. We went 3 times this year on these tickets and the cable cars were shut everytime. Not even sure they are running anymore. It was nice addition to ride in them across the park. Cbeebies has been the same for a few years so even our toddler must get a bit bored. As for rides Ritas always broken down and the only ones worthy of a ride are nemesis and oblivion which get the queues. Also feels like cutbacks around the park with booths being empty and missing staff in places there used to be

e4kenndr

Bit of a con these, you end up paying for parking at £6 a pop, plus the value for money has gone down dramatically over the last 7 years with perks removed from them year upon year

Cheapasnowt

Thats not bad- ok yes exclusions apply but at the price of almost a single entry useful if you live near there or plan to go a few times during the year.

We have two children, a one year old and a five year old. I take it we only need ones annual pass for the kids? And that is at the full £55 price?

chids

Yes, with one it's before christmas and you get the santa visit, and with the other it's after chrismtas so no need to visit santa.

kckleekyle

Hi what is the difference between these 2 is it just the visit to santa ?

iamtomlewis

Booking has been open since end of May. We got in the CBeebies hotel on 2 December for £263.

BricksBricksBricks

Kiddy rides aplenty as that is the target audience for this festive break. No big rides, coasters or other flats'll be open. Expect just Cbeebies, Sea Life (Sharkbait Reef), Marauders Mayhem, etc.

jon81uk

The Crhistmas breaks focus on the kids rides like the CBeebies stuff, I wouldn't expect any major rollercoasters to be open. The 10 year old might find it too boring, depends if they still like Santa.

emribena

Thanks for letting us know, hope you had a good time :)

masekwm

Thanks Op, just back from staying at Dog & Partridge, odd reception but lovely family rooms.

Phatashki

The one day I admit was extreme and stopped a few times on the way home. Don't think a 3.5 hour drive at half 5 in the morning is particularly tiring. Nor at 6pm for the drive home the second day. Just because you can't handle a long drive after being out for a day doesn't mean others can't. I do 70 miles a day to and from work leaving at 6am so no stranger to long drives in the mornings.

masekwm

Be careful booking this, said system error this morning so pressed book again and got two booking confirmations!

ashmac

We just booked santa sleep over as we go every year ..its a brillaint get away for the family and the kids love it

Just checked and when you add them on for free they both say 21st and you can't change them on the booking. Probably best to give them a call or email them and ask if you can change the date of one of them? 08710971233

azual

Say I booked 21&22 which day can I use waterpark? The free golf says it's for 21 and can't change to 22. So would we be able to use waterpark on 22nd??? Don't wanna really cramp both activities in one day

Monster72

That’s a good deal if you’ve got kids not at school. We’ve been a few times just to CBeebies land and the water park. The entertainment in the hotel is OK. Keeps the kids happy for a treat. The slides inside the park are great.

emribena

The dates in the post are definitely the prices specified for 2 people or 2 adults 2 kids. If not showing that date they have sold out but plenty of dates still available

mario999

Never mind. Some kind of glitch with my phone. Working now.

Any idea if this works for fright nights

adamsiddle

Anybody have any kind of idea what the queues are like September weekends? £60 each for the gold fast pass seems a bit pricey I’d be gutted if I got them and the queues weren’t that bad!

Turnip

Indeed you did. Drip.

07sanchez

I don’t need 241 tickets just 4. Seems a waste 8)

abigsmurf

Be careful with Alton Towers off season. Merlin have been penny pinching to the extreme the last couple of years. You can have as little as 6 hours of ride time, rides can be closed and lots of the food places and stalls close up.

Just tried code SUMMER25 , doesn't seem to be working anymore , even though it does state book by the end of 31st July. Unless it means all available dates have been booked :/

DarrylJohn

If you're going as two adults, there's a B&B right outside the towers. Opt for that, 80 a night.. and also get two cheap sun tickets on eBay. Alternatively, Kellogg's BOGOF. Then go back the following day for an additional tenner I believe it is. Doing that again this year once schools are back in September. Will be about 200/210 all in for 2 nights and 2 days when the kids are back.

Scooby2520

Tis true , we got 4 rides in 7 hours and not to mention all the down time on a few rides

jacob.banner

Why would you go to water world when the Alton Towers waterpark is so much better

Hacksaw

Crazy queue times in summer holidays. Wicker man ride was 2 hrs 25mins last weekend! Lucky if you’ll get on 3 popular rides.

Other budget accommodation options which might work out cheaper are the Premier Inn Uttoxeter or the Ibis Budget at Willington. Both are decent quality and 30 mins drive or so away from AT.

Hotel is not nice

myusernamehasgone234

This “Stay away from the main building/pub though I got a serious Norman Bates vibe from the manager/staff at dinner and breakfast.” Not really selling the place to me (shock)

safesound

It depends which room you get. I stayed there in April and got a really nice suite with a separate bedroom, bunk beds (in hall) and sitting room with a proper sofa, tv and patio doors into a little patio with table and chairs looking out onto rolling countryside. It was clean and very spacious. To be honest I've stayed in far (FAR) worse places for longer and for far more money. Stay away from the main building/pub though I got a serious Norman Bates vibe from the manager/staff at dinner and breakfast.

Worth a try - you have nothing to loose by asking you never know

ashy7

OK thanks. We were a bit confused as the FAQs weren't clear. It says that you can go on any day of your stay, but needed to confirm.

emribena

You have to stick with what’s on the ticket but if you want to go another day lots of bogof offers on Kellogg’s cereal, Cadbury’s packs etc

ashy7

Hi guys, need a bit of help. We've booked this deal and are staying in the hotel tomorrow night. The ticket says that park entry is on the 8th, but we'd ideally want to go on the Monday instead. Do you know if we go to the park either day, or so we have to stick to what the ticket says?

Did you need to show a Merlin pass for this offer? I’ve noticed that the code is the same for The Merlin pass pre book offer

dougiesmum

Thanks op. We went this week £63 for a family of 5 was a bargain. We already had complementary swimming tickets so really enjoyed it. I would warn people though that the food from flambo jambos restaurant was gross I wouldn’t recommend eating there.

RealDealSeeker

Before booking school holidays online it might be worth ringing. They seem to have offers not available on the website. I asked for a quote for this 40% deal but the agent mistakenly thought I asked for the “40% off including tickets” deal.... My August dates comparison for a family of 4 in splash landing; 2 nights B&B only online= 270 2 days tickets only (discounted thru work)= 140 total=£410 2 nights short break online inc 2 days tickets = £575 2 nights short break over-the-phone inc 2 days tickets = £395

Rachel102

Hi just wondered if anyone using this offer has been and did they have to show a Merlin annual pass? Can’t wirk out if you need a pass to use code b40. Thanks
