Maybe not everyone is as much of an expert than you people buy things and would expect to get what they paid for imo basic statutory rights

You also had a cooling-off period also. Why people don't do just the basic research prior to installation, and then a few speed tests when up and running, I do not know.

Openreach says I should get up to 80mbps. But Vodafone give me 15.

No I was promised a minimum 55 that's why they have applied a discount on my account because they are unable to fix the issue asides from that would still highly recommend VF as I've had a great connection for over 4 years much better than my previous (sky + bt)

Moved to VF on 1st October, getting around 57-58 mbps on a 63 mbps contract, VF is the cheapest option amongst the suppliers, max speed offered at my location is 67 mbps. I would say VF has been helpful and parted with log-in credentials when I told them I am going to use a 3rd party router. No real issues apart from I don’t like their router web interface and there is no scheduling available based on MAC address for parental control.

Probably be worth while to hold off until black Friday. The Amazon devices always plummet to low prices I got the 4K cube for £30 last year iirc

So this seems to be aimed at kids. Its a tablet with amazon kids plus subscription. How does this differ to say ABC mouse which seems to be popular?

Is this the 2020 or 2021 edition?

Amazon 9W PowerFast Original OEM USB Charger and Power Adaptor for Kindle E-readers, Fire Tablets and Echo Dot Bundle underneath also has the official wire. Although, looking at the cost, be cheaper getting a basic fire tablet and selling the tab on (shock)

I paid £84.99 around this time last year and I'm 90% sure it was the same on BF. Obviously it might be even cheaper this year but who knows (confused)

Thank you brother, will get these

I'd like to know this too. Not sure what's best to do!

I believe the tablet is the same (or practically identical anyway), but the Kids version includes the case, a years sub of Kids+ (which both mine love) and a 2yr warranty where it's replaced if it breaks for any reason. All in all it seems worth the extra to me. YMMV.

I’m a bit confused, hope someone can help, I’m debating getting this for my kids, but I seen that the Fire 8 tablet is also £54.99, is this the same tablet with just the protective case? Would it be cheaper just to pick up the fire 8 at £54.99 as it’s the same tablet. Sorry I’m clueless lol

ok I bought one HD8 last year and I don't recommend it, won't play any h.265 8/10bit content ... useless if you have an own movie collection

I previously had the 7th gen HD 8 and it was horrendously slow - just could not use it. Heard good things about the 10th gen (2020) and got a used HD 8 Plus off Ebay recently. Surprisingly nippy and smooth experience - using it for Netflix, IPlayer, Prime Video and the odd bit of googling..

I disagree I have this machine and it's absolutely fine for browsing the internet, watching netflix / prime and playing games.

Does this have adverts?

These are great for dumb media consumption. Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Crunchroll (although the CR app is hot garbage on every platform and the website is even worse) for me. They don't make a great primary device. They probably won't replace your laptop/desktop or mid-range smartphone, and won't make for a good gaming system (although I've not tried Stadia or GeForce Now). But if you watch a lot of Netflix, Prime, and Disney+ on your phone, then the larger screen (and freeing up your phone!) makes this a great buy. I've got one of the earlier versions personally, and set one of these 2020 versions up for my dad. Following the instructions to sideload the Play Store (linked elsewhere in the thread) worked a treat. Install Firefox for Android, along with uBlock Origin, and web browsing improves DRASTICALLY. It's also my preferred way of watching YouTube on Android devices. Get a decent case and some good tempered glass screen protectors, and enjoy. Heat added.
