Got an email with a code for 10% off emirates with AMEX. Book between 1st Nov to 14th Dec and 1st Jan to 30th Nov 2019!

I think they let you cancel upto 24 hrs, without charges, after the booking. Should you get the dates mixed up, names spelt incorrectly or the likes, this comes in handy. Worth a try if the tickets are still available for a fresh booking, no other inconveniences etc.

The flight itself was. This is just put the sting in lol.

Yea and I’ve tried entering the code and it comes up with an error. For the code to work I think you have to go through either your email link or if you have it in your offers in your AMEX account. Unless anybody can tell me any different?

Ouch lol

It doesnt show as an offer.. its a code UKAMEX8 :)

Yep. It's the same deal and within the time, so the expired deal should be refreshed.

I’ve had my Amex gold for a week now. The only offer that’s come my way is £5 back when you spend £10 a pizza express :|

Don’t think so.. they did have a offer they ended a week ago.. this is a new one they incorporates purchases up to nye so you can buy sale fodder

Sadly not on my silver BAMEX ;( Got it last year and the Harrods one but not this year.

I wouldn’t wait ten years to spend your gift card balance. They could close your account at any time and you’d lose it :S

I have a platinum cashback card & a BA card purely for these cashback offers. I find my BA card ALWAYS gets the best offers despite the other being a ‘cashback’ card. Go figure.

There’s also a offer of a six pound credit if you buy a £30 gift card. I’ve just bought myself one and then used the code on my own account supposedly I’ll get an email within 48hrs to confirm the credit - probably account specific but worth a look Gift Cards To redeem this offer: Click the button ‘Click to register for the promotion’ Buy £30 or more of Gift Cards in a single order The £6 promotional code will not be visible in your Gift Card balance. However, the £6 will be automatically deducted at checkout when you place your next qualifying order of eligible products sold and fulfilled by Amazon on, and provided the order is placed by the 15th of January 2019 (inclusive). See full Terms and Conditions below.

This is a great post, I have recently done just this, hence £10 FREE money. Glad I didn't post it up on here though, what with all the undeserved cold votes!

Just thought Id post for those that are interested to see it :) Any discount on flight tickets is always a plus from me!

Can you get £100 back if you book on, but the flight is one of their partners (eg Singapore Airlines?)

Thanks, on my Everyday cashback card.

Well that’s okay then...celebrate equality whatever way we get it (party)

I’d say it’s a fair chance either way

I've got both the £10 off £100 and £20 off £200. Given the way these offers have worked in the past I suspect I'd get £30 overall off a £200 spend. Shame I'm not going near a world duty free any time and they usually don't seem that cheap anyway.

The laithwaites deal is better for those that have it on their amex. I'm expecting a delivery of a mixed 12 case of wine plus 6 of prosecco for just over £80 making it £4.33 or so a bottle. That's 20 off 100 with Amex. Even lower if Quidco tracks.

Ah yes, navigate to and the details should be populated for you. I'll update my earlier post too.

In addition to the voucher code at checkout I am also prompted to also enter a password for it :/

I posted the code (now edited) in my reply above. Just pop that in at checkout, you probably don't even need to pay on Amex if the discount shows correctly.

I can't see this offer on my AMEX either. It would be useful to clarify to whom it might be available - and how to claim.

Found this on my offers on my gold card.. £10 off £50 at River Island (y)

Best wait to get the 10k in the bag first then cancel as it's pro-rata fee refund and get small shop out of the way not that I make good use of it here. BAPP is a good card if you fly with BA and have Avios but cashback card may work better for you, who knows apart from you which one fits your needs. The gold is a great card as it has flexibility so I'd cancel and go back after 6 months.

They do seem to be getting tighter with incentives to stay so play them at their own game and cancel. I found them bad when I had some fraud on my account and they wouldn't cancel my card and re-issue a new one then a few days later they did just that after they found it had been hacked probably by BA fiasco.

I usually find it takes till the next day for them to appear on my offers from when I see them on here

Will need to try that as my annual fee is due this month :( Dont know what to spend my amex points on if I cancel tho? Any recommendations? Generally whats the best AMEX card anyway in anyones opinion

The last time I did (early last year) they just said I could move over to one of their non fee paying cards (annoyed) Have really only stayed with them because of the customer service (a fraudulent transaction on my card was dealt with immediately last year) but that’s not enough these days. Will call them after the small shop offer has finished and hopefully I can regain some of the annual fee I’ve already paid out (y)

Same here :(

Glad I didn't use that.

They have just cancelled my order for the advent calendar using the TVOFFER... "Dear Customer. We are writing to a handful of customers to apologise for a website error which allowed the discount code TVOFFER to be used online in ways not allowed by its Terms & Conditions. We have been running an ad on TV which allows new customers to make a £40 discount on their first order of 12 or more bottles of wine and enjoy free delivery. The discount is triggered by using the code TVOFFER when checking out. The ad makes it clear that the voucher applies to 12 or more normal-sized bottles of wine and that full Terms & Conditions can be found on our website. Beer, spirits, fine wine, gift cards, Champagne etc. are listed as excluded from the offer. Owing to human error our website did not actually exclude these products. This fact seems to have been discovered by a small number of customers and was also shared online yesterday. Unfortunately, your order using the code TVOFFER does not meet the Terms & Conditions and we are unable to accept it so, with our apologies for any confusion, we’ve had to cancel it. All online orders are subject to our standard Terms & Conditions of sale (a link to these are just below the PAY NOW button on the site) and those terms confirm that we can accept or reject any order prior to it being despatched. "

If you have used TVOFFER then please check your confirmation email because I used it last night and everything was fine on the screen when I placed the order but when I checked the confirmation, there was no sign of the discount. Sure enough, when I checked my credit card, I found that they had taken the full amount. I phoned them up this morning and was told that the code should not have applied to the order as they only had limited stock available but as a goodwill gesture, they were prepared to give me £20 off. I declined this and asked them to cancel my order. I also pointed out that it was illegal for them to take more from my credit card than I had authorised. Now, it could be that the advent calendar was a red herring as I had added other things to my order to make it up to £60 so that I would qualify for the Amex £20 cashback. One of these was Sunday Bay Sauvignon Blanc which was on offer.

Splendid Deal Teh...

Actually you do have a point there d'oh!

Less likely actually as you are more likely to shop at Sainsburys.

You would think it likely this offer would show on a Nectar Amex considering it is Sainsbury's own reward scheme however no such luck..

Similar selection in Wilkos too. (y)

No problems for me at Wilkos today. I decided to go for 2 x £25 vouchers rather than the "load what you want" version. Tracking email received before I'd even left the store.

Just a heads up guys went into WHSmith today to use the Amex offer. They have a number of gift cards available to purchase: Apple iTunes, App Store, Cineworld, Vue, Pizza Express, Netflix, PSN, River Island, Next, M&S, Amazon, Halfords, ASOS to name a few. Purchased a £15 Amazon Gift Card (smallest denomination you can buy) and got the £5 on my Amex card straight away. Thanks Chanchi!

Good grief its been going on for over week, hmm there is nothing else I want from Superdrug for that amount :(

no one appears able to confirm they have had the confirmation email let alone cash back. as long as your amex CC statement reads paypal there was nothing in the T&C's stating particular merchants. ill be on live chat in a few days I guess.

Maybe I didn't do it correctly. I am going to predict mine won't pay out either. Is this offer supposed to used on specific merchants on the Paypal page or just anybody that accepts Paypal (and then select to pay using Amex)? I only paid for something I was intending to buy anyway, but a tad frustrating nonetheless.

nope. no email confirmation or anything, offer still sat in "saved" offers. purchase was over a week ago. offer terms do say up to 90 days but like you a confirmation email is usally instant(ish).

Have you had the statement credit yet? I’ve just made a purchase and not received an email to confirm purchase (which has occurred with every other Amex off I’ve used in the past

has anyone who used this had anything in the way of confirmation or even the cashback? Amex usually send an email to confirm you've used the offer even if the payment takes a bit longer. for me the offer is still sat in "saved offers" but I used it days ago. thanks.

It was during a 'sale' so the price had changed.. Things happen :)

in case anyone wants to know why this is so specific, currently there are no airlines who fly directly to durban from the UK (or anywhere else in most of europe, the closest is Istanbul) its a new route that BA have started so this is basically just to fill the planes. Good price if you're going there or even to S.A in general as internal flights between the cities are quite cheap.

Will not work on other routes - AmEx gets all flight details you book (they will also appear on your card statement).

If you were within the 24 hr cooling off period you could have cancelled and rebooked assuming the price hadn't changed.

Prepaid are normally a better rate, and despite the T&Cs prepaid stays have always counted regardless of when the actual stay is. It certainly worked for a recent bonus points offer on a different stay I have next year.
