I do agree that AMEX travel are not always competitive and that you do need to shop around. However what is quite socking really is that you haven’t done a like for like comparison. Do a search for the exact same dates, routes, flights, etc on both websites then you can call it a comparison.

italondonistaavataurino

Anyone with AMEX British Airways that can say if valid for that card as well, please?

teh.arn

Deal goes hot so quickly because of the poster, not because of the deal.

Thank you for this. Heat added. Just booked a weeks car hire in Charlotte, North Carolina and with the cashback will save £30 over the cheapest quote I could find anywhere else. (y)

I spent £50 in Tesco last week and got £10.00 credit back on the statement. Can i use it again in a differeng supermarket?

jerry-atric

Does anyone know whether this stacks with the morrisons 10% back? I got both offers on my card and need to do some Christmas dinner shopping!

morgie

I did get the email for this version of the offer, but not for my BA card spend for the Avios points version (see post above). The first has paid the statement credit already, likely the Avios points one will be fine, just have to keep an eye on it. Does seem pretty hit and miss.

Valid once per card - so yes, only one spend.

Why would the age of the offer matter? The OP didn’t say it was a new offer and the deal hasn’t been posted yet.

Same, I stay in Marriott every week. Out of interest, does the £200 have to be in one stay, or over a period of time?

I had that experience once. We told them no and either cancel the ticket or honour the booking. Very dodgy company. Netflights is also usually a fair bit cheaper too, and very trustworthy. Really good service from them.

Davieb1982

I have only ever booked with Emirates direct. Anytime I've looked it's been less that £20 or that, and one time I did book with an agent they took my money, then came back and said they needed more money

rprp

Remember that booking Emirates direct is more expensive than Skyscanner etc. so that really eats into the savings. I've used this a few times and it's only about £20-£50 you save. Sadly Emirates' price guarantee only applies to Economy class

Davieb1982

Heat added, £200 off is decent in anyone's book.

y-oh-y

Not something I'll use, but I'm waiting for the £50 off a £200 travel spend which should be imminent.

Ordered a Pixel 3a XL and a Stadia to take me over, will this be ok for the Amex deal?

duncan81

If it helps, I had the same and phoned Amex. They've added a note to my account, as they will manual credit if it's charged after the 30th. I just need to phone back once it goes from pending to charged.

sanityassassin

Cracking deal. Partner was in need of a new phone. Got the 3a, a case and a home mini, and comes in around £306 all in. Expected to dispatch just on time on the 30th for delivery on the 1st. Thanks. (y)

madeyoulook

That is annoying. I have both Amex offers, and was going to use the spend £725, get £250 back offer on two Pixel 3a XL for my parents. But the XL aren't going to ship in time. Might just chance it and cancel the order/return if it doesn't go through. The Hilton promos always say that you need to stay book and stay within the promo period, but mine has always gone through when I've booked and stayed later.

BiglyX

can I use 2 three SIMS on the 3a? Its single SIM but supports a second eSIM. Would I have any problems?

Thanks. So you went via TCB rather than the Amex specific link they gave? If so, did you still get a "tracking email" from Amex for the cashback? Not sure you'd get TCB and be able to use a voucher code also, be interesting to see if TCB tracks and pays out, keep us posted.

Fair point. However ignoring the Amex offer the 50% off the first box is a good deal. The Gins look to be around the £30-35 mark. This is an example Boatyard Double Gin ABV 46% 70cl £34.95 I look at it like this. I have a good gin package for £20. I then have a good bottle of gin plus some free mixer for another £20. Lidl ‘Shreddies’ (indistinguishable from the original) 625g for 89p. So-called Waitrose half price Shreddies 415g for £1.05. I suppose it depends how much you’re prepared to overpay just for a name on a box. By the way, the Aldi Stilton comes from the same creamery as the M&S Stilton. Same cheese, but less than half the price. The secret to shopping wisely is not to allow yourself to be taken in by the big brands.

If you don’t have Amex, just use the discount code (OCTOBER30) to get the box for £28 You get a full size good quality bottle of craft gin that usually retails at around £35 so it’s already a good deal, but you also get lots of other items that are put together so you can make a few cocktails (recipes included). In this month’s box I got 2x 200ml tonics, 250ml binary botanical, a syrup, a packet of crisps, Godiva blood orange dark chocolate and botanicals. You also get Ginned magazine, which is really good. Delivery is also free. you can cancel after your first box so there’s no commitment to buy another.

dfarrall

The box is £40 usually, if you add discount it's £28. This offer is essentially a 50% discount coupon, doesn't look like you can buy anything else from them bar expensive subscriptions.

dinglebert

Bit of a joke. The box costs £28 but you have to spend £40. Whats the point?

keysmesh

I was wondering this yesterday but after exploring all avenues I think not, you hve to spend £40 in one to get the £20 back with Amex and there’s no way of adding 2x boxes to your first order say so I doubt it! :( unless somebody has found a way!? :)
