I have the Logitech K811 backlit keyboard and it's the best wireless mini keyboard, by far....but Logitech stopped making them, which was a crazy decision. Pity.

Let's take a look...

So it has no backlight?

Couldn't click the link to check? Here you go, even 'backlighted' it for you:

Does it have backlight?

He meant HDR10+. Like DV, it uses dynamic metadata.

Hi, just wanted to enquire what you meant by HDR+? Do you mean HDR10? I recently watched a video on YouTube (HDTV test channel), and the host, Vincent Teoh, said that whilst DV was dynamic metadata, whilst HDR10 is static? Not arguing with you, just trying to clarify that’s all :)

Another classic for the collection

I have installed the Beta so Dolby Atmos is a definite. To watch iTunes movies in 4K you need an Apple TV4K, I think the iPhone 8, X and iPad Pro 10.7 can watch HDR but for the cost the Apple TV4K wins hands down. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, you can add other apps from the TVOS App Store. HTH

I have installed the Beta and following the recent update movies with Dolby Atmos are now more available and the sound is excellent, like any movie whether it’s disc or streaming it depends on the engineer who done the Dolby Atmos track, some are better than others. Whichever way it’s a cracking update.

Apple announced yesterday Dolby Atmos is coming to Apple TV.

Or take a similar approach to Audible and others. You purchase elsewhere and play wherever.

I'm not sure you can really compare an Apple TV 4K to an Xbox One S for games or streaming, they are completely different products for those purposes. The Xbox dose not stream iTunes and the Apple TV is not a games console.

Thanks for informing me. Was so excited to see if my Spider-Man homecoming from talk talk would transfer but no luck for me

Not the best of the streaming service providers.

Have Apple Music app and play anything bought on Apple iTunes movies etc works lot faster better BUT wouldn’t buy if you don’t have those get Roku etc

Thanks, just bought a refurb from Apple on the tick.

I stand corrected!

I have an answer but I will not share this

Play iTunes purchases? Also, it doesn’t need a second device from which to cast (although you can do the same if you need to with airplay)

Thanks OP

Good price!

I use Fire TV now. It's not as slick or fluid as my Apple TV was (older gen) but gets the job done. At this price I'd be more than willing to return to Apple TV. Anyone know what the deal is with Youtube now? Is it as nice to use as anolder Apple TV or is it just another embedded webpage like on every other device? And is there a way to stop the onslaught of adverts in Youtube using just Apple TV or must I implement that elsewhere like the router?

SO what apps these can run?

In terms of video quality that may just be the case, an in depth review of the video quality comparison between this and UHD blu ray shows only slight differences

Whathifi? Call it the best streamer available

People with a 4K TV who want cheap 4K movies without resorting to illegal activities perhaps? iTunes movies on this will have the benefit of having most HD movies move to 4K for free plus having extras on a lot of the movies and regular sales where some 4K movies are £5 or less. Plus useful apps, games etc on the box, stream your iPhone recorded videos and pictures from iCloud, mirror your iOS device to the TV... It's not just Apple, the Nvidia Shield is a similar price for another 4K streaming box that does similar things but Google Play don't have a lot of UHD content at the moment.

Reasonable discount on a newly released Apple product. Although yes it is still expensive, the 4K streams are very good and free 4K upgrades for any HD purchases. Still works out cheaper than buying a 4K blu ray player and buying the discs as they are usually about £20 each. Whereas I have many 4K movies on iTunes which I only paid £5 or less for.

If you'rrnin the Apple ecosystem (iTunes, AirPlay etc) and have a 4K TV then this is the obvious device for you. Whether or not the discount is worth it for a return is a personal choice. What other streaming box plays games as well and has as nice an interface? Perhaps the Nvidia Shield? That costs more...

It arrived today and it was exactly like you said, it looks brand new other than the refurb sticker on the box you wouldn’t know I’m really happy with it, thanks again

Thanks for confirming! Hope you enjoy it, mine arrived in ‘new condition’ really couldn’t tell any signs of use. Only the box says ‘refurb’, may as well save £30 and buy this instead of new

Thanks for this I already have quite a few purchased movies on my US account so I’ll use it with that. These are still available by the way I just got one

Thats what I did ;)

Think I'd prefer to pay the extra few quid (after cashback) to get it from Apple.

Apple TV Siri Remote (Refurb) £24.99 @ Argos eBay

Apple Why cold ? We all know it’s a premium product.

Do you mean siriously?? ;>

Ask that to a 40 year old who can't figure out what each one of those 60 buttons mean on traditional remote control and the fact that the minimal use of buttons on this remote can operate those devices that shipped with a 60 button remote control with its IR Transmitter. In addition to that, Bluetooth in a remote control does not require it to be precisely point it towards the Apple TV. Please consider that the Apple TV is supposed to be the next chapter in television, so a good old remote control clearly doesn't fly, since it doesn't subscribe to that vision and is clearly too shabby for the purposes that an Apple TV is made for. Also, with the accelerometer, this remote doubles as controller for basic games etc. Clearly, there are plenty uses for resources that remote ships with.

I appreciate technology plenty but only that which has a clear purpose and benefit. This just seems over engineered to me, like a solution looking for a problem, what exactly is wrong with a good old remote that doesn't cost a fortune? :/

This remote is an insane 6.3 mm thin with accelerometer and three-axis gyro, two microphones and an incredibly precise touch surface and still weighs just 47gm. While you are trying to laugh it off, Apple engineers are working super hard trying to outdo themselves towards something even better and unique. People like you see the price and stop there; people like me appreciate the technology, understand the amount of effort that would have went into it and share the deal if that great piece of hardware is available at a price lower than it normally is.

I, too, received mine 2 days ago. This is now the Third successful purchase I've made from Eglobal. I've purchased 2 iPad's, on separate occasions, towards the end of last year.

Received my band new Apple TV 4K 64GB yesterday for £157.99, including post and packaging. Wow what a bargain. Arrived all the way from China in four days via UPS, no problems. Apple TV was in unopened UK Apple box with UK plug... what more can I say. If you are considering do it won’t get it cheaper anywhere else.

We all know the steam link is a piece of junk really.

Ah ok. I don't think it is over priced for the features it has and if i had other apple stuff i would probably have one of these too. I just like a variety of tech though.

Thanks. I switched from the ultra to a shield due to features in 4K video playback. My point was to show that currently there is no other media player at this price point offering Dolby vision playback (Casting aside). I’m not a fan of walled gardens and largely own non-Apple products, that said, this Apple TV is very compelling for its price point and features vs the competition. I was genuinely excited for a second and eagerly awaited some information about a new player, nope, got a steam box retort instead. :/

Have some heat

Yes this was my deal too happy days. I posted a nas deal that was mega cheap compared normal price. Ice Ice baby cold. Not fair to compare one device to another. I swopped a shield TV for Apple 4k no regrets and I'm an android fanboy.

All depends on the first first 10 or so votes. If it goes cold to start with you need a miracle to save you. Obviously the last one had 10 or so apple people vote it hot and the crowd followed. This is a good deal for the apple TV 4k considering on ebay they go for £150 but as this is HUKD people look for the cheapest thing to do the same without understanding the benefits of one costing more.

Yes, exactly my thinking, e.g. Spiderman Homecoming currently £6.99 4K version. I do find it odd that the same item, almost identical price just 4 weeks apart and one goes very hot and the other massively cold. HUKD hey...

Where else can you buy Dark Knight 4K for a fiver? Or deals like 10 movie packs for £9.99 that include 4k films like the Revenant, Maze Runner and the Martian. The hardware is expensive but the media is as cheap as chips!

Better of buying the nvidia shield tv than this

Went out of stock 2 minutes after posting haha, so yes, agreed.

A good deal. They were only released in September last year so they should still have at least 6 months apple warranty, which can be extened. I managed to get one for £147.98 last year when the apple very offer was on.

Depends what you want to do with it. I have an Nvidia shield TV but thinking about getting an ATV 4k because I want to build a digital library of 4k (and preferably DV) movies and Google Play Movies is an absolute horror show, content wise. I'm actually getting irritated by how long it is taking them to release a good number of movies in 4k hdr/dv. USA has a lot more choice but still not as much as iTunes. That being said, I do like the shield, particularly the ability to emulate old games.

Apple confirmed atmos support coming great device good range of 4K and searchable content across providers using Siri

Dont really know anything about the Nvidia shield but I would say that apple tv would appeal to anyone who buys or rents films/tv shows via iTunes as you can only view on apple devices or PC. Can you get iTunes on the shield? And can it playback 4K?

Apple TV 4K or Nvidia Shield TV? I’m really torn on which one to get, I would purely be using it for watching TV and general catchup, anyone have either of the two and could give me an insight into their pros and cons? Much appreciated

Although 4K blu ray players can be bought for cheaper, the current situation is that not all films available digitally are even available on disc in 4K (for example home alone and mrs doubtfire, I bought very cheap and not available on uhd discs) however this may change and be released on disc in the future. But I suppose the opposite may happen for some films which may get a disc release and no digital version but I see this being unlikely. Its ideal to have both platforms imo as apple now support amazon video too who also fo uhd downloads and rent/buy from the cheapest store.

Quidco has tracked. Further 30p off.

epic film. and usual Tom Hardy is just outstanding.

Just purchased from iTunes app via Quidco app on iPhone and it doesn’t seem to register the sale... But maybe it just takes a while? Unable to raise a dispute on Quidco either.

Has anyone tried 7% cashback on iTunes via Quidco? Wondering if tracking works on a mobile e.g. click through from Quidco app to iTunes app then purchase.

Good deal, though I’m waiting for the next time the 10 Thriller movie box set goes down to £9.99 to get this.

Does Apple Music work on it

Excuse my ignorance and lack of knowledge.... but in layman's terms .... how does this differ from a freeview box?

It's quite ironic that you said "Can the Firestick play my iTunes 4K library?" as an iTunes 4k movie isn't really yours is it? It's only yours to stream as long as you stay with an Apple device capable of playing it (anti competition people need to look at this) You cannot download it and take it with you if you decide to leave the ever shrinking Apple is it really, more upfront rented with caveats. Alas the item in this thread can't play 4k either, for that you need to spend at least another £100 over a Fire TV 4k for the 5th generation. With the £100+ saving you could actually buy (and own) plenty of 4k movies. I could mention the dozens of other things a Fire TV can do that an Apple TV can't such as Atmos sound, 4k you tube, Kodi, more catchup TV apps etc for less than half of the price but I'm not going to.

Well Amazon Fire 4K 3rd gen then.

Is this likely to get hit by customs?

Just a general comment, I’m in Hong Kong today and I’ve had a good look round the city and been pricing some items and comparing against ECG. Basically they match Apple products but beat everything else I compared. I’ll be checking out duty free at the airport later tonight but not expecting any dramatic reductions.

ECG are based in Hong Kong and HK use the same plugs as the UK. I have bought three phones from them without issue. Use a credit card for protection under the Consumer Credit Act. Apple have international warranties on all their products except IPhones. Just been to the Apple store in HK and this is about the price they are selling them for. Unless you need it quickly this is a no brainer.

I'm now using Apple TV and also had a Shield. The apps on Apple TV do tend to work better, the general interface and voice search is way better on the Shield. I miss the ease of use of Youtube and the Plex server I used to use (I use MRMC which took alot of work to make work in a way I was happy with, mainly due to file naming). Also I had an issue where the Apple TV decided all content, interface or normal high definition was HDR. I figured out the best way to deal with this issue was to set the resolution to 4k 60mhz without HDR and turn on the option within the advanced settings menu so when it detected HDR content it switched modes. In effect my device now assumes everything is HD unless it detects HDR content, which is a much better work around. All in all I am please with the Apple TV box and I swore I'd never buy apply but Dom.McHugh is right, its probably the best streamer around compared to the competition, just expensive.
