That’s all that’s missing really and for me would make it the complete streaming box

Just emailed them and they said:- Whilst All 4 is not currently available via a dedicated Apple TV app, we are working on this and hope to be able to provide in the near future.

Apparently it’s in the works

I only listed native apps.

twitch is available on there. There are a few apps for it. Twitchy is the most popular i think. You can also get Hotstar (from the India store) with means you can watch EPL / F1 for about £2.30 a month

£30 saving for the same device minus not needed extra storage. both devices get the same warranty since argos would still send you to apple for any post purchase problems.

I'm confused, how is a brand spanking new 64GB Apple TV in the minus while a 32GB refurb is hot?

I thought you could plex server with it, but I stand to be corrected as I don’t know anything about it. I aimed at Shield as it was broadly the same with a hard drive, I get annoyed when the atv is compared against a £40 stick, as I said elsewhere in this thread you wouldn’t compare the price of a 32” tv against a 65”. Edit: I have read that infuse is better

Apple would still lose on that front simply because of the shields ability to be a plex server makes it far more useful. I say that even as I still debate getting it also the shield has been really well supported which is on par with apples support if not better than. You then also have the option to see where steam and GeForce goes as NVIDIA works directly with valve on their shield tv app. Voted hot though as it is a deal on the item if your looking for it your basically getting double the storage for the rrp of the 32gb option.

ROTFL Do some research before trolling bro. I agree its a ripoff but its the only way to watch Apple store movies - Chromecast is okay, but still no upgrade to 4K

not all iTunes movies play true 4k most of them are upscaled from 1080p or hdr unlike Netflix which are all uhd, dont forget that apple has a-lot more 4k content in the us then it does in the uk, currently Netflix has much more content then apple in the uk and you don’t have to pay for everything you want to watch its just a one of price..

Why expired, still shows 3 available?

As RoadWarrrior2210 says the Apple TV is the only source of fully legal 4K movies starting from £3.99 to ~£13.99 for brand new releases. Even at full price it's a bargain to purchase when compared to the price of 4K Bluray (and players) The 4K movies on both Netflix and Amazon Prime are VERY limited and not new

So you can't buy 4k films for 3.99 then?

I've used them a few times now, would use again no doubt.

Yeah, I got an email saying the products have been sent out to me and if I click in to the shipping information tab on my orders page on the website I can now see a tracking number. Hopefully our boxes will turn up soon!

Now delivered

Hello again, have you had a despatch confirmation yet? I got the message about it being picked and in the process of leaving the warehouse but heard nothing since then over 24 hours ago? How long do these guys take with delivery, seriously! I think this will be my first and last order with them, I'm an impatient guy but it has been 8 days since ordering now.

My parcel is now at Yodel depot for delivery on Friday, here’s hoping.

Oh god, we are now going to have to suffer her as an Apple FanGirl now

Fair play, welcome to the dark side!

This is the cheapest available. And they have lots of exclusive 4K content. So I have to bite the bullet

Hey Sam I thought you said Apple was a rip off? Still waiting for you to tell me about this mythical Android box that is cheaper, and has all the same playback options and memory!

Lol. Ok. Let's see how it goes..eglobal always risky on this site.

APPLE TV 4K 32GB at Amazon for £143.10
Found 24th AugFound 24th Aug

All this talk of pricing just reminded me that the Xbox One S is an absolute bargain for 4K HDR discs/streaming. For the same or less than the AppleTV 4K you get Netflix, Amazon, Microsoft Movies/TV, Youtube, etc. Combined with the Dolby app for Atmos and you're in for a good experience. And that's before considering the games available. I do wonder if Apple are afraid to open up to these kinds of platforms due to their fear of losing hardware sales. Food for thought.

Even with Netflix they get hindered by Apples codec lock down. They have to provide a different stream using Apples preferred codec, it’s why we don’t 4K YouTube on the ATV because Google are refusing to budge in using the Apple preferred codecs which they would have to pay a licence fee to Apple to add, they want to use the google developed open source codec they use for every other device. The problem with your thinking as well is you are comparing it to the shield. If those were the only two on the market it would seem better value but you have 4K devices from Amazon, Google and Roku under £80 compared to £179 from Apple and the 1080p devices from them from under £50 compared to £149. It’s why I say the ATV needed to do something else to make it a mass appeal device, you expect an Apple premium but over £100 is taking the **** really. They could have charged a premium still but put it in a price point where it would be more justifiable by the masses. Even if they had gone £80 for original and £120 for the 4K it would have been a much more appealing platform, even then though that’s on the little high side

My bad, I was referring to Netflix with regards to DV/Atmos. None of the streaming services can match UHD disc for fidelity and I've not noticed a great deal of differences between them in terms of bitrate. I use iTunes (and Play, and Amazon) for films I want to watch, but don't want to fork out on a disc. Case in point, watched Three Billboards recently, didn't care to spent £20 as I didn't think I'd watch it more than once. iTunes was the only one out of the three that had it in 4K, so the bitrate is largely immaterial. The switching could easily be implemented, but in spite of many gripes in the forums, the Shield still hasn't had this implemented universally. I'll take capabilities now over vague suggestions of receiving them via update. Fair point on the remote - not one for a tile floor and butter fingers. I only used it for initial setup, and whilst I found the touchpad fiddly to start with, by the time I had finished installing what I wanted and tapping passwords in I quite liked it. It's back in the box now though, as I use a Harmony Elite to control everything. With regards to gaming, other smart home things - different strokes for different folks. Some people want a jack-of-all-trades device which will invariably be compromised in one or more areas, some people want the best tool for the job. I don't do any gaming on the Shield either, because I have a PS4. In the same way I don't stream on the PS4 as it's compromised as compared to the Shield and ATV, and if I'm really keen on watching a movie, I'll do it with a UHD disc. Except they don't all do the same thing - I want DV and Atmos in Netflix now, I'll worry about the next big thing when it's the next big thing. I used Kodi for a year or so before I moved to the shield, didn't care for it, usability quirks and limited support for streaming services via third party plugins which are haphazardly cobbled together, or certainly was then. And none of those seem to support DV/Atmos in Netflix. And aren't the Beelink and Himedia Android, and not Android TV? Comes with a lot of usability caveats. I looked into the Huawei Mi Box when I was looking for a Shield alternative and came across a number of reviews where the conclusion was "it's okay-ish, but stretch to a Shield if you can", and looked no more. Anyway, haters gonna hate I guess? I'm a million miles from an Apple fanboy, having been an Android user since the HTC Magic, having been given a free iPhone by work and still choose to fork out my own money for my own handset, and having gone through the seven stages of grief when my research brought me to the conclusions that for streaming video from the internet, the ATV is the best there is. Even I have to hand it to apple, the ATV 4K is a great marriage of hardware and software. I'm not trying to convince anyone any more though.

Lots of android boxes out there with those features. Beelink Himedia even Huawei. Seems a minor software update for any box with latest Amlogic chipset.

LG telly all that stuff and more, still don’t get why you are so hung up on a couple of processors when they all do the same thing. My point is in a couple of months time there will be some more buzz words around and the latest Dolby whizz bangs will disappear in the pack.

Why not get a shield at this price point? SD card slot on back on the older batches. Silly monetising apple. £20 to go from 32 to 64gb.

Great price. I recently went from Apple TV4 to 4K and the difference is brilliant. Plus Dolby Atmos films coming in September on the 4K its a good investment. I decided to go 64gb as there was only about £20 in it.

I think the 32gb version is enough for most film/basic needs though.

I know it's a lot to pay for the streaming device, but with £3.99 4k movies, it'll probably pay for itself by the 10th film as opposed to buying the physical disks. Though I'd risk it and order from eglobal if I was in the market for one of these. The 32gb version has been one of its 'in stock' items this week.

Apple announced yesterday Dolby Atmos is coming to Apple TV.

Or take a similar approach to Audible and others. You purchase elsewhere and play wherever.

I'm not sure you can really compare an Apple TV 4K to an Xbox One S for games or streaming, they are completely different products for those purposes. The Xbox dose not stream iTunes and the Apple TV is not a games console.

Thanks for informing me. Was so excited to see if my Spider-Man homecoming from talk talk would transfer but no luck for me

Have Apple Music app and play anything bought on Apple iTunes movies etc works lot faster better BUT wouldn’t buy if you don’t have those get Roku etc

Thanks, just bought a refurb from Apple on the tick.

I stand corrected!

I have an answer but I will not share this

Play iTunes purchases? Also, it doesn’t need a second device from which to cast (although you can do the same if you need to with airplay)

Good price!

I use Fire TV now. It's not as slick or fluid as my Apple TV was (older gen) but gets the job done. At this price I'd be more than willing to return to Apple TV. Anyone know what the deal is with Youtube now? Is it as nice to use as anolder Apple TV or is it just another embedded webpage like on every other device? And is there a way to stop the onslaught of adverts in Youtube using just Apple TV or must I implement that elsewhere like the router?

SO what apps these can run?

In terms of video quality that may just be the case, an in depth review of the video quality comparison between this and UHD blu ray shows only slight differences

Whathifi? Call it the best streamer available

People with a 4K TV who want cheap 4K movies without resorting to illegal activities perhaps? iTunes movies on this will have the benefit of having most HD movies move to 4K for free plus having extras on a lot of the movies and regular sales where some 4K movies are £5 or less. Plus useful apps, games etc on the box, stream your iPhone recorded videos and pictures from iCloud, mirror your iOS device to the TV... It's not just Apple, the Nvidia Shield is a similar price for another 4K streaming box that does similar things but Google Play don't have a lot of UHD content at the moment.

Reasonable discount on a newly released Apple product. Although yes it is still expensive, the 4K streams are very good and free 4K upgrades for any HD purchases. Still works out cheaper than buying a 4K blu ray player and buying the discs as they are usually about £20 each. Whereas I have many 4K movies on iTunes which I only paid £5 or less for.

If you'rrnin the Apple ecosystem (iTunes, AirPlay etc) and have a 4K TV then this is the obvious device for you. Whether or not the discount is worth it for a return is a personal choice. What other streaming box plays games as well and has as nice an interface? Perhaps the Nvidia Shield? That costs more...

It arrived today and it was exactly like you said, it looks brand new other than the refurb sticker on the box you wouldn’t know I’m really happy with it, thanks again

Thanks for confirming! Hope you enjoy it, mine arrived in ‘new condition’ really couldn’t tell any signs of use. Only the box says ‘refurb’, may as well save £30 and buy this instead of new

Thanks for this I already have quite a few purchased movies on my US account so I’ll use it with that. These are still available by the way I just got one

Thats what I did ;)

Think I'd prefer to pay the extra few quid (after cashback) to get it from Apple.

I, too, received mine 2 days ago. This is now the Third successful purchase I've made from Eglobal. I've purchased 2 iPad's, on separate occasions, towards the end of last year.

Received my band new Apple TV 4K 64GB yesterday for £157.99, including post and packaging. Wow what a bargain. Arrived all the way from China in four days via UPS, no problems. Apple TV was in unopened UK Apple box with UK plug... what more can I say. If you are considering do it won’t get it cheaper anywhere else.

We all know the steam link is a piece of junk really.

Ah ok. I don't think it is over priced for the features it has and if i had other apple stuff i would probably have one of these too. I just like a variety of tech though.

Thanks. I switched from the ultra to a shield due to features in 4K video playback. My point was to show that currently there is no other media player at this price point offering Dolby vision playback (Casting aside). I’m not a fan of walled gardens and largely own non-Apple products, that said, this Apple TV is very compelling for its price point and features vs the competition. I was genuinely excited for a second and eagerly awaited some information about a new player, nope, got a steam box retort instead. :/

Have some heat

Yes this was my deal too happy days. I posted a nas deal that was mega cheap compared normal price. Ice Ice baby cold. Not fair to compare one device to another. I swopped a shield TV for Apple 4k no regrets and I'm an android fanboy.

All depends on the first first 10 or so votes. If it goes cold to start with you need a miracle to save you. Obviously the last one had 10 or so apple people vote it hot and the crowd followed. This is a good deal for the apple TV 4k considering on ebay they go for £150 but as this is HUKD people look for the cheapest thing to do the same without understanding the benefits of one costing more.

Yes, exactly my thinking, e.g. Spiderman Homecoming currently £6.99 4K version. I do find it odd that the same item, almost identical price just 4 weeks apart and one goes very hot and the other massively cold. HUKD hey...

Where else can you buy Dark Knight 4K for a fiver? Or deals like 10 movie packs for £9.99 that include 4k films like the Revenant, Maze Runner and the Martian. The hardware is expensive but the media is as cheap as chips!

Better of buying the nvidia shield tv than this

A good deal. They were only released in September last year so they should still have at least 6 months apple warranty, which can be extened. I managed to get one for £147.98 last year when the apple very offer was on.

Depends what you want to do with it. I have an Nvidia shield TV but thinking about getting an ATV 4k because I want to build a digital library of 4k (and preferably DV) movies and Google Play Movies is an absolute horror show, content wise. I'm actually getting irritated by how long it is taking them to release a good number of movies in 4k hdr/dv. USA has a lot more choice but still not as much as iTunes. That being said, I do like the shield, particularly the ability to emulate old games.

Apple confirmed atmos support coming great device good range of 4K and searchable content across providers using Siri

Dont really know anything about the Nvidia shield but I would say that apple tv would appeal to anyone who buys or rents films/tv shows via iTunes as you can only view on apple devices or PC. Can you get iTunes on the shield? And can it playback 4K?

Apple TV 4K or Nvidia Shield TV? I’m really torn on which one to get, I would purely be using it for watching TV and general catchup, anyone have either of the two and could give me an insight into their pros and cons? Much appreciated

Although 4K blu ray players can be bought for cheaper, the current situation is that not all films available digitally are even available on disc in 4K (for example home alone and mrs doubtfire, I bought very cheap and not available on uhd discs) however this may change and be released on disc in the future. But I suppose the opposite may happen for some films which may get a disc release and no digital version but I see this being unlikely. Its ideal to have both platforms imo as apple now support amazon video too who also fo uhd downloads and rent/buy from the cheapest store.
