On the 26th Sept, sorry I can’t recall what time.

Nice one. Do you mind me asking when did you place your order? I’m waited with baited breath! (y)

Was the original date 16 oct- 15nov?

Just received email, ETA is now 1st October. Anyone considering topping up £379 and using that to purchase the watch so that you get the 2% top up bonus?

Hmm I always thought that but whenever I tried to use it without being in rage of my iPhone it would fail? Watch used to come up network error and a load of numbers and small cases letters so assumed Apple made it need the iPhone to sync data or something they done to make you carry both (lol)

Apple Pay uses on-device NFC on the watch and has ALWAYS worked without your phone. When you think about it, there is no reason that wouldn’t be the case, as your contactless card doesn’t have an internet connection either...

Nails and heads..

In the same boat! I wanna get more active and go for morning/evening runs but without my phone (sure i could just buy an armband but much cheaper) but I'll often stop and check social media or every ping push notification. With my Watch I can just enable some notifications (not full mirror iPhone). I want to cut down my screen time and get fit so the watch is "worthily" if i was just at home/work and doing nothing i probably wouldn't bother with an S6 and still use my S2 via GPS. Love Apple Pay and now I'll have cellular so should work without my phone now. £702* total so I'll be paying after the 24 months. That's £509 Watch face value so £193 for unlimited data (I never ring or text). I love tech and gadgets too. * Before £25 Quidco (if approved).

If it has to be ‘sold’ to you over here, then it’s not for you....

Nice! Did you have to ask for this or automatically just informed you it'll go back to payment method? Maybe they've changed the T&Cs as i got my Apple Watch S2 a long time ago and back then the default was to account credit so always paid X amount off minus the rebate and had to ask if i wanted it in card refund which didn't bother me anyway as i'd never pay the full amount would always leave the £50 or whatever due so the refund to account finished it off. GPS is nice too. Tbh i could probably get GPS only as my phones with me 24/7 but i wanna focus on fitness and get fitter and morning runs etc and avoid my phone (gotta get my screen time down ha).

Hey, thanks for your advice. I messaged them on twitter and they said I should be given £35 back to my payment method when it dispatches. Hopefully this means that it won't be credited to my 'very' account! I went for the GPS only version anyway so for me £377 was a good deal!

They even asked me to contact and complain to Argos and get some voucher off them as it was their fault for mismatch (lol) I just gave up at that point ...

I'd call it customer disservice

Currys customer service is pathetic

Didn’t hear back from the manager though, will take it back to store for returns tomorrow and sign up for Apple Watch via Vitality

Me too and still waiting...

Difficult to get hold of the correct dept over phone have been bounced off few times and spend more than an hour so trying to get help via chat, the person on the call did say that it’s been rejected due to glitch

If you’re not confident calling, ask a friend or family member to do it for you. That’s a risk. Most could have opened it without knowing they’ve paid full price. So by the time they realise, the watch has been worn. Somebody mentioned they had trouble returning it because of this. To me they should at least honour the return when they’ve denied the price-match without informing people. Makes you wonder how much money they’d lose for it being opened compared to the pride match.

Thanks I am dreading it, what if I opened and started using it with a hope that I would get the price match money then I guess they would just say can’t return or give price match money .. right?
