Check your local Morrison's. My store (Oxted) is selling 3 packs in their clearance section with a price tag of £3, but they scan through at £2. They are taller, but doesn't seem in issue in my Britta jug.
My local Sainsbury's had Britta ones on offer last week, probably a clearance thing, but packs of 6 maxtras for £7.50 so I picked up a couple to see me through a year.
A 12 pack of 60 days is only 26.68 on Amazon

Easy, on the top of the Brita filter is a round piece of plastic covering a hole that has four tabs on it, just cut it out with a sharp knife and empty all the old carbon away then fill it up to the top with the new carbon.
There's no need to replace or cover the hole with anything because you'll never need to tip the filter upside down unless you're emptying it again.
I would imagine most filters are easily dismantled in a similar way.
There's a few videos on youtube where they cut the entire top off but I find it's not necessary.

Same here, But make sure you use food grade activated carbon because the stuff used in fish tanks and ponds isn't recommended for humans. I buy it from home brew suppliers and the alcotec pure carbon (pure Karbon) is also superb for making nasty cheap Vodka taste like premium Vodka once filtered.

For us, build up of limescale in the kettle was a sign that the filter has stopped working.
Its a good product, problems with it is that 60 days claim is overstated, and that's why the negative feedback it gets. TI found I need to replace every 3/4 weeks, which made them more expensive than Brita filters, which currently available at Morrisons for £8 for 4 filters

687 four and five star reviews compared to 44 one and 2 star. Seems a decent bet to me.

Unfortunate that of the 44 negative users in the whole UK they seem to be members of this site.

Probably best to take a look at their profiles and determine for yourself whether they are people whose opinions you care about LOL

Save your money and time , by avoiding this product. BTW, return too many items to Amazon, and you may find your account blocked.

Their CS is exemplary and you could of returned it at their cost.I have no experience of this item and can't provide any useful information. Reviews seem good and if I didn't have a Brita and a load of filters I'd go for this. Because it's quite a bit cheaper annually....

I swapped a whole ago to these to save money, but found the filters did not last as long as the Britax ones (were lasting 2-3 weeks before the water tasted like tap water again compared to near in 4 weeks with the Britax ones).

Also the jug design was not so good (even though the Britax ones are not perfect).

Various studies have shown that the Fluoride compounds added to water have neurological dumbing-down effects on society.
The Natzis used this process to dumb down the Jews to their advantage during the holocaust.
The Fact Germany don't add Fluoride compounds to drinking water speaks volumes to me.
As a sidenote, 5 grands worth of analytical quality water purification equipment (18.2 MOhm RO DI unit) used by me failed to completely remove F- ions when tested by ion chromitography so it's not easy to completely purify your water but RO units can be purchased for 150quid which will help.
Not available any more
Highway72

anyone can google, but let's not waste time

If you had bothered to take your own advice you would have realised that this type of filter does not remove fluoride.
