Popped back in to the local today and the pre-owned game that I thought was a decent deal was the first fate game on switch at £20. Astral was £27 I recall and wasn't new. They had a few more compared to the other day but nothing notable. Still definitely recommend having look if you're in the area.
Nice bunch in my local had to rummage through and the victor and sine mora were 99p just not the last ones in stock.
This is the same practive gamestop in the US does. Try and fob you off with a used copy. Granted its slightly different. But imagine walking into Dixon's and looking for a TV, and saying "Yeah I will take one of this model" , Customer agent says great, goes out the back and wheels out a mashed up box with a remote in a plastic bag. And says this is the last model, but its just the display model and its still full price. Would you accept it ? I would be more fine with it, if they said its the display model and the last copy, but I can knock 20% off the price for your or something. Not sure, its still the NEW price for this batterd copy.
That happened to me yesterday for Dragon Marked for Death... I said is it new sealed and they said no it's the last one and proceeded to put the game in the box.. I'm of two minds to return it but for £14.99 I'm thinking it wasn't too bad price wise.
Honestly I can't tell you how many times I've thought i've found a good deal in game only for them to present the mashed up store shelf copy that 100's of people have handled and tell me its the last one. Here's a plan. Why not have a display only box and keep the last one back. and when the stock runs out, remove the display box, and put it back out when stock comes in.
