going to send the HS50 back, too much on the bass for my liking. i think ill try the Arctis 1 next

K0YS

Read a few comments on Thier site regarding dud units, hopefully mine is ok.

northfield

Even better, great deal

K0YS

I've seen how well the Arctis bend and twist! But I actually ended up going for a refurb hs50 for 30£ delivered off scan.

northfield

Steel series are a really good make too, the flip to mute on the Zelda ones are very handy, sound quality should be fairly similar so I don’t think there’s a bad choice for the price whichever one you pick

Geez Expensive toy.

iKayZee

I’ve used the sennheiser pc360 for years now and preciously owned Astro A40s and A30s - nothing comes close to the sound quality (given) and comfort of the Senns.

InThePubg

I bought the A40s after reading all the hype, most comfortable headset I’ve ever worn but very average audio quality. I paid £120 for them, sent them back. Might be better audio with the mix amp but that was another load of money. Bought the Sennheiser gsp 500 headset for £100, brilliant audio though not that comfortable (has improved the more I’ve worn them).

jeffjack

LOL 40mm drivers and response up to 20kHz. You're all mad. These should be £20. "Flip mic" hahahaha

It doesn’t but the like for like comparison between headsets were still of noticeably different quality. I tried Hyper X Alpha, Astro A40, Sennheiser zero and Sennheiser gsp 500. A40 and Zeros were both very comfortable but had comparatively poorer audio in soundstage and imaging. The Alphas had very good audio and it was easy to precisely pinpoint footsteps and the rest but were so uncomfortable I couldn’t wear them for much longer than 30 minutes without literally experiencing pain in my ears. The mic was also faulty. The gsp 500 has great sound and is sufficiently comfortable so I kept that. Gsp 500 does have a far too strong clamp force though so expect to have to wear them in for a bit.

Dankeith

That’s because PUBG doesn’t support Dolby. When playing PUBG any headphones can be used, even standard phone earphones. However, playing games like CoD will be insanely different.

comshoplesce

any good?

MK_Nath

I have the Arctis Pro + GameDAC and they are so bloody comfortable! Was only using the PS Gold before that, so can't compare to Astro. But I can confirm that Steelseries are really decent.

adam_rockon

Philips Fidelio X2 on sale with vmoda mic, at higher price points though could be anything. Not knocking the astros. Ive had them before and they are incredibly light but in terms of sound and versatility there better out there.

There's generally quite a bit at this price range that is just flat out better. The astro's tend to be marketed as utterly world beating when... they're just... good. It tends to be "just good" at "UTTERLY WORLD BEATING/YOU WON'T FIND BETTER!" price. For this sort of money, there's headphone+mic combo's that'll wipe the floor with this (and still be tidy). There's headset options from sennheiser that are better for the money too.

Solado

This deal is for the headset only.

mminghella

These don't come with the mixamp?

Azwipe

Yes they sound amazing even with a PS4 controller, the open back design gives a wide soundstage so it's easy to detect where sounds are coming from.

khodos

Hello, could you elaborate? Do you recommend the senns based in sound quality?

These headphones are actually very comfortable, more comfier than any sennheiser ive purchased. Only problem that is annoying me is that I have now figured out why my mic never worked in black ops 2 and turns out I have to use PTT for this game which sucks. Should be a way just to have it on all the time. As for the sound quality its decent and is fine.

MarkThisDay

I would return them and just use any in ear headphones you have and put the 20 pounds towards a mixamp the hyper X is a good pairing I also own a pair of them look up the 350 se sennheiser they are crazy cheap in most places they are the older game zeros

Dan__

thanks for the helpful info :) Others have recommended the hyperx headphones too. I just bought a pair of Numbro headphones from amazon as it is a best seller on there and I needed something for now. Not tried them yet but if they aren't good then I will look into Astro and hyperx

MarkThisDay

If your in the market to get a headset get a Astro mixamp and pair it with any headphones you like I use PC 360s And hd700s I do double amp when I use the latter

Dan__

Ive been off the gaming scene for too long.

3.5 jack makes this a no for me. For gaming need a USB one for better sound

BlackwellTV

Long cable on these, which is a pain in the butt if it is connecting to your controller. Just bear that in mind. Incredibly resilient headset, mic is decent and not got actual surround sound dolby kinda stuff, but they are mad useful on games like BF1.

masterofimages

Yes. Connects to your controller via the Jack (at least it does on the Xbox), so no fancy surround sound. Very good headset though.

Ghostrecon

It's wired and no much info whether it got surround sound. Seems like it links via a 3.5 jack.. So sound quality is questionable for me

steve10574

I wish they had padded the headrest just a bit more though but yes is a very nice headset for the money

yeah I had the same issue! I have no idea how it broke, I've removed the shattered glass and put a tempered glass camera protector. Also my lower mic stopped working.

Regprentice

I had a g6 - the problem I had was the SIM card tray is made of soft plastic. It snapped inside the handset and the broken piece couldn't be retrieved preventing me inserting my SIM or an SD card. It a fairly common issue . Vodafone initially claimed that a snapped simtray wasn't covered by the warranty - but in the end they swapped my G6 out for a p10 (they've stopped selling LG handsets).

Got this, great kit but only accepts a 1 amp max charger, any more it won't charge.

plewis00

Good price for an Anker but doesn't feel right when compared to the Aukey 20000mAh power bank for £9.99 deal - while Aukey aren't quite as good a brand, they are still decent and respected! I guess some people want the smaller size too... I found the Poweradd Slim2 5000mAh (hexagonal-shaped) one for £7.99 to be very good, and another good brand (I got mine for £6 about a year ago): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Poweradd-Portable-Technology-Lightning-Included-Rose-Red/dp/B00MWU1GGI/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1516057780&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=poweradd+power+bank&th=1

Heat777

Bought the 20,100mAh version last year. Like a brick and enough juice to power a house. Just wish I'd opted for a smaller version! (embarrassed)

diktiomenos

I got the higher capacity (6.7Ah) version of this a couple months ago. So far I'm very happy with it.
