Point to note before choosing your model: The xbox model is the only one that gives you a free dolby atmos software license in Windows. The PS4 model doesn't detect the headset for the free license. I'm returning the PS4 model for the xbox one. As mentioned by a few people, the sound quality on this headset just out does anything I've tested (over 10 premium headsets). At this price point it's a decent deal. Replaced my logitech g pro x wireless headset and can confirm that the difference is jaw dropping. First game I played I was actually blown away at the accuracy of sound origin and crispness of the sound quality. Gun shots sound like someone is firing a gun next to your head. These things are loud and may not suit everyone. I've not come across a headset that comes close to the clarity on these.
You can charge the headset directly. There is a port on the headset that you can plug the charging cable directly into.
Agreed with all your points. The logitech pro x wireless headset is a decent pair, but as you mentioned the sound of the Astro is just better. Steel Series 7 really was a disappointment after seeing all the positive reviews. The base station on this is very hit and miss. In the past I've had it brick my headset after a firmware update. I've ordered these again at this lower price to see if they will last. Fingers crossed.
tempted to bite....... I have a gen 3,,, overall the comfort and sound quality is good. But I find myself having to factory reset them more and more. The charging cradle drives me nuts. On the plus side I have them working with my ps5, pc & xbsx (no mic for that one). Like others. I've tried a few others and found the sound & comfort to be poor compared to the astro's. Biggest disappointment was the steel series 7x....... thought the sound was really bad (and yes I tried to optimise via the app).
Indeed, the Astro headsets are really a tier above everything else I've tried. Comfort is also far superior to any other headset on the planet.
