No not really mate I havent noticed it be any more dusty than anything else. I have it stood on a glossy black table I do find the feet stick solid to it which is good to stop vibrations but a pain to move it lol

Do you have any trouble with dust sticking as it's a glossy black?

I have this turntable in black and can highly recommend it, good find OP good price.

I have found Audacity great for doing that: Identify beginning of each track, name track Edit > edit labels > add labels Once finished, saves as separate songs File > export > export multiple Just mentioning it as it took me a while to work out what you do!

Certainly better than the cheapo "turntables" avalable just about everywhere. If you;re planing to convert vinyl to a digital format it's a good place to start. There is a lot of things released on vinyl that's never been made available digitally. Take The Muppets' Music Hall EP for example which was in the charts in 1977. Not available to stream or download anywhere. Bear in mind that recording the file is only the first step, as you also need to 1. Split the file into individual tracks 2. Silence out any noise between tracks 3. Add tags to identify the tracks when converted. 4. Convert to a user-riendly format such as FLAC for lossless or MP3 for portable use.

published by The House of Commons Consumer rights to return faulty goods SN/HA/2239 2 Is there an EU-wide two year consumer guarantee? Many people are mistaken in thinking that the purpose of Directive 1999/44/EC, ‘On certain aspects of the sale of consumer goods and associated guarantees’, is to give consumers a minimum two years guarantee for all goods. In fact, this EU Directive, implemented in the UK by the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002, has added little to already existing UK consumer protection law under the SGA 1979. 4 Under this Directive, all Member States have to ensure that “a retailer could be held liable for all 'non-conformities' (i.e. defects) which manifest in the good within two years from delivery”. However, this requirement is not a two-year legal guarantee (although, rather confusingly, the Directive’s title describes it as such); goods are not legally required to last for two years. It simply provides that consumer goods must conform to the sales contract at the time of delivery. If a consumer can show that the goods did not do so, they will be entitled to repair or replacement of the goods free of charge. If this would be disproportionate or unreasonable to expect from the retailer, the consumer will be entitled to a reduction in price or a refund. These consumer rights are available for up to two years following purchase. If the defect becomes apparent within the first six months of purchase, it will be presumed to have existed at the time of delivery, otherwise this will be for the consumer to prove. However, as mentioned above, the Directive adds little to UK consumer protection law. The SGA 1979 already provides the same legal rights to consumers to return faulty goods but for a period of up to six years after purchase - a much longer period therefore than provided for by the EU Directive. As a result, consumers should still rely on the SGA 1979 when returning faulty goods.

Feel free ito post it if you think it's a good deal.... I nearly bought it but then I looked at what I've spent this past month. (shock) Just FYI though....... A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. The EU directive in question is 1999/44/EC. The full wording is contained here (open the word documtent and scroll to page 7) but the important bit is this: 'A two-year guarantee applies for the sale of all consumer goods everywhere in the EU. In some countries, this may be more, and some manufacturers also choose to offer a longer warranty period.'

You get two years, good idea to register it

How does this compare to something like a Rega Planar?

I've read through the Amazon listing and comments, this may only come with one year warranty, the one with Audio Visual had a confirmed two year warranty.

Had a set for a couple of years now, had to replace the pads with some from eBay as the original ones lost there coating. Use them with a Plenue D and they sound great with good sound isolation ideal for flying with. They are a bit big though so no lying in bed with them on

Same here, I use a Little Dot I+ headphone amp, as I find the headphone sockets on most devices disappointing (for these, and other headphones). The sound is just mushy and indistinguishable in comparison.

Yeah they are awesome, only thing is I use headphones in bed and these were just ridiculously sized

You officially succeeded

I have had mine for a couple of years now and there still my goto set of headphones. I like their natural/neutral presentation across all genres of music. Powering them from your average smart phone doesn't really do them justice so i bought the dragonfly external DAC to get more out of them and those 2 together sound great.

What's the bluetooth connection like? Does it work ok with iOS devices? Is it super loud on the lowest vol? (Reason I ask is, I am using a xiaomi bluetooth receiver, it's tiny and works great with the shure, but the lowest vol is far too high). thanks

I bought the TRN alternative from China (hasn't come yet but I've read good things about the sound quality) . There's a few different brands making these. From what I've read the westone one is one of the best, and sure one is poor value for money if you just want a Bluetooth mmcx adapter. There's a few threads online which compare them, but it's quite a niche market, and to make matters worse there's a lot of really cheap poor quality alternatives.

Yes I did mean that, however I have held off as it looks like just buying this would be a better option

Hi guys, I bought this TV and so far it's superb, but I'd like to know what I have to buy to actually use freeview? So far I've been using TV only to play/watch things on my PS4, so never thought about it, but since I have a smart TV with freeview it would be stupid of me not to use its full potential. No it ain't that: I just rang Nottingham fishing for that FLASH200 code to get applied to Q8F and they weren't having none of it, the geezer said they still got loads of curved Q8's in warehouse stock but the flat Q8's are as good as gone with only a few individual shops having the odd one or two. Perhaps these might drop even further than this current 1300 quid ticket, if they got that many they're still stuck with it would seem rather likely.

@belvaz - where did you see it for that price? It's showing as 2199 on Richer Sounds.

Well said.

As @Aretak has already said be it Sony, Panasonic, Philips or whoever if the telly is OLED Lucky Goldstar manufactured the panel. As for 'competitively priced' I've been shouted down by the 'workers united' brigade on here and firmly told not everyone can afford bigger brand televisions when questioning the wisdom of buying 600 quid Hisense sets on here so they would firmly inform you 1300 quid televisions are the domain of self entitled millionaires (skeptical)

Not in the TV realm though. All OLED TVs use panels manufactured by LG Display. Samsung are the biggest producer of OLED panels there is, but have to pretend that they don't believe in the technology when it comes to TVs because LG's patents stop them making them for their TVs. It's silly. All very subjective stuff. People say that OLED's brightness isn't great, yet they get brighter than all but the very, very best LED-lit TVs from the past couple of years (at least when not displaying a full field white test pattern). If you own a mid-range or slightly older LCD TV, it almost certainly doesn't come close to OLED's peak brightness. Yet people point at light cannons like the XE93 as if they're the standard for LCD TVs, and they're just not. As for "smashes OLED massively in the HDR fight"... just nonsense really. HDR isn't only about peak brightness and specular highlights. Contrast plays a massive role in effective HDR, and OLEDs smash massively any LCD TV ever made in that comparison. Some of the most effective uses of HDR are for contrast between very bright objects in very dark surroundings, and no technology does that better than OLED, with the deepest blacks and no backlight blooming. The best TV for HDR changes from scene to scene, let alone between different content. And QLED is an overpriced joke, frankly. The Sony LCDs from the XE93 upwards provide a far, far better HDR experience, with much better local dimming and higher peak brightness in real scenes, rather than test patterns. The QLEDs have extremely unimpressive measured peak brightness on anything except test patterns. The very best QLED from 2017, the Q9F, measures just 690 nits in a real scene, despite hitting over 1400 nits on a test pattern. That's only 20 nits more than the B7 OLED manages in the same test. The XE93 manages 1442 nits in the same real scene test, incidentally. I guess QLED's great if you sit around watching test patterns all day though. None of this is to say that you should absolutely buy an OLED, incidentally. There are plenty of other valid concerns about the technology, including screen burn. But at least buy a TV that's actually going to deliver what you want, if massive brightness is what you crave above all else. Because there's nothing funnier than hearing QLED owners ramble on about how bright their TV is and how they chose it over an OLED because OLED's so dim, when in fact there's a gnat's fart between them in actual content.

The £40 deal is the engineer deal, I could have taken, they get cards with a special a code to hand out to friends and family. I took an option to get the standard "Q" set up (engineer fitted a hybrid LNB if you don't get one of these you con not get free view if you give up Sky Q as you have to give the box back), the standard entertainment pack has Euro sport and Discovery plus excellent catch up facilities for £10 a month, 18 month contract and £20 install as a new customer. I had been left over a year.

Not everyone has access to FTTP/FTTC. Moreover in many residential properties it is not trivial to deploy a network which delivers reliable wifi content, particularly to deliver jitter sensitive services utilising considerable bandwidth. As such for many customers the transition to Sky Q was certainly a retrograde step. NB: No i'm not one of those customers, I have fibre broadband and the time/ability/opportunity to deploy a network which delivers decent coverage but many other buyers of my home would have struggled.
