Some good half price deals at Tesco, including New Covent Garden Lentil And Smoked Bacon Soup 700G, these soups are good value for money.
Spartan176

Makes the maths harder for consumer. Folk I know buy Heinz soup at Poundland "cheaper" than Tesco. 2 x 290g tin @ Poundland for £1 or try 4 x,400g oxtail for 4 for £3. at Tesco. Which is b est value ?

M-M

I didn't realise that there were 2 different size, and I do agree that it is strange, £1 for 600g is a good deal, maybe there's a mistake in the pack sizes somewhere.

Matthew774

Morrisons have the 600g size for £1. Seems very strange that there are 600g and 700g sizes

Ere isn't that £4.60 a kilo? There are better deals out there.

Some_Geezer

So the prognosis is he only has 12 months to live? Could that be directly attributed to eating bacon or is he just kinda old?

Well at least there would be one less for me to fight for food then.

I think the recent metro newspaper voucher for BDC and fries @ £1.99 is still valid. Adding 6 chilli cheese bites for £1.29 is still cheaper

If you do a lot of physical activity especially aerobic sports i wouldn't bother worrying about this. You lose so much sodium through sweat it shouldn't be an issue.

LeahsMintytoutou

Wish I'd seen this comment before, just bought 2 packs thinking what a bargain lol. Still will do mr tomorrow for a bacon sarnie (popcorn)

MSK.

Of course I have. Have you ever bought Iceland bacon? It's mostly watery fatty stuff that shrivels to the size of a postage stamp when cooked. Cooking bacon at least sometimes had decent bits and there's enough of it to make a sandwich.

Jobudgielover

Have you ever bought cooking bacon ?? It is disgusting stuff mostly fat that I wouldnt feed my hound 😰

MSK.

Or get half a kilo of cooking bacon for about 60p instead (skeptical)

Subway Glasgow selling roast turkey and bacon sub for £2
187°Expired
LocalLocalFound 23rd JanFound 23rd Jan
Its the branch next to Watts/Savoy centre Im guessing its the leftover Christmas stock, its the roast turkey (not the slices) with bacon all for £2.
mtuk1

No. In the Halal subways the products that have bacon in in the regular stores have turkey bacon and turkey ham.

Gollywood

I don't go to Subway as I think they are all crap - halal or non halal. I like real meat, not mechanically retrieved sludge So what are the halal ones selling that is so deceptive that adults going in can't seem to fathom? Are they saying they sell 'Bacon'. I've heard of Turkey Bacon, which is a product in its own right

Al18

Exactly, it's such a small amount of stores. Plus they're franchises, so owners will do what they deem necessary to make more money I mean I'm sure a multi billion dollar company like Subway have invested millions into R&D to determine how to make more profit

xobec

Maybe they should make it clearer then that the ‘bacon’ isn’t actually bacon etc. It’s misleading Plus many places serve meat products alongside vegetarian dishes so can’t see why not aslong as the correct hygiene methods are followed

Gollywood

I am sure there is a 5000 page thread on this in the Misc Forum. They love discussing this sort of thing

Anyway this is going OT. Voted hot, you can't beat a good old bacon butty to lift spirits.

Bsod

145 so double your IQ 😁 You need to change your attitude, otherwise the younger generation will despise you. Essentially your the grumpy old man that whinged about womans rights in the 60s. Change or become a relic.

ChrisPalmer

Amusing. Perhaps you should send yourself back for using the same tired old line (not an argument) that people such as yourself trip out - that anyone whom they come across who may hold a different opinion to their own is some sort of backwards moron. Invoking the spirit of the age too - wow, I've never heard that one before. You must be a genius. What's your IQ?

Bsod

Sure dude, sharing a view is different to some knucklehead posting provocative comments with the clear intention of stirring up hatred. Thankfully people in your minority are a relic (soon to be extinct) in modern Britain. Shame we haven't invented time travel, then we could send you back to 1968, where you and your archaic views belong.

Sure they've been this price for a couple of weeks or so. Cheddars and Tuc original are 64p at present in Tesco if you don't have a Morrisons near by. Still better than say Sainsbury who charge something like £1.34 a packet! Haven't seen them on offer in Asda for months now. They used to be 50p there at least once a month as I used to stock up. B&M might be around 60p for Tuc.

I agree. The mentality of gullible hysterical people and the baying mob. Facebook justice. Some people are just looking for an excuse to stomp their feet and once they have heard some bs theres nothing that can be said to convince them otherwise, even if its obvious to the rest of us. I dont know if they are morons or just sheep that cant think for themselves :)

bigted

I'm amused by some of the comments here about not being the cheapest because there are mis-shapes available cheaper. If I was being pedantic I would say that maybe the advert should say "cheapest bacon rashers - excluding mis shapes/excluding reduced to clear/ excluding bacon flavoured crisps". Dont be anal. It makes you look, well, erm anal!

Wongy110

It is 500g but still the cheapest around here

GlentoranMark

We always take offence in NI yet I know nothing of this, that's why I'm calling bull on this story but you've just stirred up the can of worms and someone from OWC will pick up on this and restart the rumours. My missus worked in Poundland and one disgruntled worker said to a friend that they were unable to wear a poppy as it was company policy in NI. 1 day later and there was a crowd of baying loyalists outside the shop protesting. This was all utter bull, 1 rumour started by 1 moron and caused the shop countless of pounds in damages. Another was this I was asked to share on FB (which I didn't): http://metro.co.uk/2017/10/27/lots-of-people-fell-for-this-fake-wetherspoons-accounts-poppy-prank-7031884/ Fake news is not only dangerous, it is costing companies loads of pounds and could make or break a small company. Be careful where you get your info from, unless I know the actual source say and share nothing.
