yep it's a common fault as the plastic cog wears out especially if it get jammed as it shears the spines off. Very easy fix and cheap parts. loads of online tuition. Can only imagine how many are thrown away because of this fault .
That's what went wrong with our v1 Air Ram. However, I'd bought it 5 years ago from Lakeland stores and they took it back for a full cash refund, as it was bought under their "bring it back if you're ever unsatisfied" guarantee at the time. Worth knowing about it anyone else purchased from Lakeland years ago. Amazing customer service. Needless to say they don't offer such an infinite warranty anymore.
love his handbag (lol)
Mum has this as she can’t handle a heavy vacuum. It’s just ok, struggles on thick pile. Emptying is a pain and the filter clogs quickly. The hand held multi is very poor. Doesn’t pick up well at all despite making a lot of noise and you have to keep the trigger button pressed all the time to operate. Think both are overpriced.
Looks like it's sucked the colour out of your carpet!
Reduced to £179.10
Following on from Louise’s comment, I’ve seen this (NV681UKT) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Shark-Upright-NV681UKT-Lift-Away-Powerful/dp/B00HBZ4N1E/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?keywords=shark+powered+lift+away&qid=1562624299&s=gateway&sprefix=shark+po&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1 for £199.99. Also gives me the option of 5-monthly payments (interest free) if anyone is interested.
Do you Shark enthusiasts know how these compare to the corded stock versions. I really like how the stick version separates long hair from the rest of the debris. Weird quirk, I know,
Mains-powered vacuums will always out-perform battery powered vacs. But cordless models are getting better all the time. They're good for a quick run-around but I wouldn't use one as my main vacuum, personally.
Are these better than battery ones? I see there is another current HUKD deal for £200 but battery model. I have a pet and mostly hard floors. Thanks
Great product. Not so great price.
This is available directly from Shark for £199.96 or 4 monthly instalments of £49.99 with a free pet brush upgrade.
Damn i needed a new sucker (y)
You bagged a bagless!! (lol)
All gone it seems...

Dyson or vax folks
We've got a more expensive model vax and the handle on ours was doing the same before it snapped off. With some regular maintenance we got three years use out of it.
Its no shark
2 years warranty, down from 6 years. Clearly no confidence in their quality.
Absolutely horrific products and just as bad service! I’ve had about 8 hoovers and the warranty period isn’t even up yet! Ridiculous company, no idea how they stay in business. I bought a little Bush one from Argos last month - £42.99 and it’s got 10 times more power than any nonsense Vax product.
Im sure there are lots of reasons like tax and their Asian market presence, but it looks very likely Brexit will have been be part of this decision due to the timing which is key. Moving just before the 29th says a lot about their confidence to see where Brexit takes us. Can you at least admit that Brexit might have had something to do with their decision?
As I say. You know nothing of how the company is run or even where its biggest markets are now and going forward. This post alone proves it. But keep going with your anti Brexit chin trembling remaniac propaganda if it makes you feel better. :-)
Plead explain why they would leave then?
It's not hard to understand why. They moved the headquarters to a country that has just signed a trade deal with the EU to protect themselves and their assets. They will be far better off doing this than staying here post Brexit (if we leave). This is sensible to do this (if you can) and others will follow and already have made this move. Despite being a good business decision, it is also super hypocritical from a brexiter who is all talk about the benefits of leaving but when it comes down to reality, won't put themselves at the same risk as people who can't protect themselves and have the most to lose. Welcome to Brexit reality!
WOW, that bites.
Well this was posted over a month ago in the January sales. Thanks for the info, I've expired the deal.
Now Increased to £299
Damojb - that's very useful, many thanks.
I've just bought the duo clean lift away from Currys for 179 reduced from 300 and have found it to be excellent after previously having Dyson's. I didn't know what to expect from a shark product but I'm pleasantly surprised. Once you get to grips with it's various positions and uses it's plain saling. Depending on how it fairs over time I can't see me going back to Dyson. Hope this helps.
Same price in Norwich
Kits not worth anywhere near £50. Crap deal.
Well why didn’t you share it on here !!!!
On the V8 the tools attach by means of the mechanism you see here at the top of the flexible hose. That leaves you with three tools with the same and opposite fitting. Is there an adapter missing?
It is repetitive but I think it’s a good point to make here because this is not a good deal. It’s pretty poor actually.
Some purchases are worth bragging about! Heat added OP!
Plus quidco cash back making the total less than £299. Ebuyer offers £299, however , out of stock. I would be shocked if the price went down further.
Fair point. I was really keen on those 2 tools so easy decision for me at £313. Agreed about price match but I wasn't concerned about having next day and would be surprised if price went down any more.
missed out! :( Waiting for cyber monday. fingers crossed. I would love a V10
You could have got a price match from Dyson, which would have got you free next day delivery, and a refund if the price drops lower. It's also worth checking the tools, as you lose one tool (Quick-release mini soft dusting brush) with the total version and gain two different ones (Quicky-release up-top adapter, Quick-release flexi crevice tool) There are places still doing the Absolute for £299.
I managed to pick up the V8 total clean this way. On Dyson website the V8 Absolute and V8 Absolute Pro were £314. I was just about to purchase the V8 Absolute Pro and then realised the 10% of code for Currys meant I could get the next model up for less 😁
299.99 at ebuyer, I have just ordered one
Nothing at the moment. We are fools to ourselves. I purchased a steam iron for £32 and now due to all the 5 star reviews its £64 only one year and eleven months later. Same with these Dyson's, price stays inflated due to all the feedback.
Beats dysons own bf deals.
Not a bad price at all op. (y)
Any ideas if there will be any good deals on these on Friday? I’m after one myself but haven’t seen much with the deals so far.
I’ve had it 8-9 months, sits in the Garage, with the other stuff I keep meaning to take to the charity shop.
You're welcome. :) Sorry to hear that Norman-B. When did you buy it?
Thank you Paulleen <3
We have one, not my best buy. Poor suction
That's your opinion. Many people think it's a good product...
my point, using your example is this Vac is the equivalent of a new nokia phone that costs more than an Iphone even though you know its an inferior product. releasing a new nokia that costs £3 grand and then having it on sale somewhere for £1,500 isnt a deal just because its been overpriced to start with (skeptical)
uurrrm yeh it does. That is how deals work. From your perspective it is overpriced, just like I think Apple products are overpriced ad samsung phones too.
Fair do’s been over £250 for quite some time. It was enough of a discount for me to bite but everyone is different. If I saw a cheap Dyson tomorrow then I’d bite on that too (cheeky)
check Dyson ebay page - they have deals pretty much every month or so. I got the v6 a couple of months ago with the 20% off for about £120 Just because its over priced everywhere else doesnt make it a deal im afraid (skeptical)
Anyone bought this ? Notice it’s £32.99 now but just wondered about performance ?
Looks like the price has gone up to £36.99
Are these any better than dyson?
Hmmm want more then 10% off :D Heat Added
Haha, the same Dyson V6 Animal - the battery last only 15 - 20 mins as supposed to - still happy as it’s enough to do 3 rooms downstairs and on second charge upstairs
Which cordless model do you have? I’m thinking of getting a newer one (I have the v6 but the battery goes after 20 mins) and interested in whether it would be a real upgrade...
The cordless are great, using one for last two years - highly recommended
Any promo codes??
How do these compare to dyson
Theres another one here from Shark https://sharkclean.eu/uk/product/shark-duoclean-lift-away-vacuum-cleaner-nv700ukt/ its £179 after the code September10, im not sure which is the best one
It is the same, if anything it’s actually slightly better since it has the added ‘true pet’ hence the T.
Even Cheaper from AO it is £189 but use code small15 and it brings it down to £174. Also 2% on Quidco if it tracks.
The only difference between the NV681UK and the NV681UKT is that the NV681UKT comes with the true pet attachment.
