First Direct have improved their bank account switch incentive to £125. To get the £125 cash offer you need to open a 1st Account, switch your everyday banking to First Direct usi… Read more

I opened an account with them last December and then transferred my current account. Still haven't received my incentive payment. Last time I managed speak with them a few weeks ago they said the payment was on its way. I have tried contacting them again recently but their messaging system from their app has never worked, they don't reply to emails and I can't afford the hours it takes for them to answer the phone. I think that they are supposed to pay out if you leave but I don't hold out much hope for that.

Just a couple ot weeks ago, if that.

I switched my wife's 35 years old Lloyd's account on Monday. Today we received debit card and details of account and one call to register and 2nd for activation code. Took maximum half an hour and everything is working as it should be. Switch will take 7 days.

No. Opening a second current account and subsequently closing it will not cause your bank to get upset.

So could I open a second account up with my bank and then use that to switch to first direct in the same week won’t the first bank have an issue with opening an account just to switch

Anyone who has received a HSBC switch bonus before - can you advise on how quickly the £125 gets paid? Been a few weeks after the switch now and haven't received anything yet

Thanks for sharing. Actual story behind why people think it's rubbish is always appreciated. Most people tend to just say it's a terrible bank, stay away etc without giving any context.

I will give this a go. Thanks

Can I pay in £1750 from my other bank account and then transfer it back out? Does that count as paying money in?

Still awaiting my bonus.

Lloyds, Virgin Money and Post Office immediately informs after a soft check if you are going to be accepted. This is my experience with them. You don't get the misleading eligibility email after a soft check as Santander. Santander after a soft check emailed me that I can get the card with a good credit limit. When I applied, my application was rejected. I wrote to them, and they replied that their eligibility email is a marketing tool. I have complained to ombudsman. Hopefully, I'll soon hear from ombudsman if this misleading practice is allowed.

Same as all the providers when they do a soft check?

Indeed. That's normal for all credit card groups. The big problem in my opinion is that Santander doesn't even have the process to do a credit card swap. E.g. When jumping between the normal 18 months 0% card and the 26 months 0% All-in-one card. That's pretty awkward if you're already happy with Santander. They should make it easy to stay as a customer like Lloyd's and MBNA do.

At the end of the 0% balance transfer period you would not be able to transfer the outstanding balance to another Santander credit card with a 0% promo, you’d have to transfer externally.

Thanks for posting. Just to let you know that your thread was selected for our Highlights pages (highfive)

Signed up 8 days ago, made some transactions. Promotional credit/reward still not received... Not a good start if they want to retain customers... To be honest, with only 1% cashback from 3 retailers for a month, I don't really get the point of Curve. I already have all my cards on Google Pay, so don't need to carry them with me. With Starling, already getting instant notifications and good exchange rates.

I just signed up the only offer was get £5 for £5 spend

Yes that is true….so now you know, use the ‘tool’ appropriately! If you want s75 cover on something pay for it with a credit card.

You don’t and can’t select Curve cash a payment, you just can’t part pay with it. If a transaction is equal or lower than the curve cash balance it will use that.

The HUKD supplied link does not seem to carry any mention of Amazon anywhere, so is this expired?

I get a few offers but rarely in shops I actually want to use/visit! (flirt) (flirt) (flirt)

it says '' cashback will be paid after first month payment of 7.99 after 30 days free trial'' so sound like you can still get free trial?

Cheaper to just create a new amazon account and get 30 days free... So im told (cheeky)

Oh, i think i got it wrong. It's 40% off of 1st month, not a years sub. Right?

You don't have to put your bank details, so I would say no as long as you don't put your bank details in.
