Never too expensive when it comes to safety paid well over 500 quid for my first one nearly 20 years ago.
Don't know why I'm looking at this because I'm never happy with a new helmet even though I have had to learn and relearn the lesson on too many occasions to try before you buy. Its not like you can try them for a week of so. Reviews never seem to help and I cling on to the same old helmets for far too long (dare not say how long). Might be an age thing because I cant remember it being a consideration when I was younger, if it fastened and didn't fly off when you were going faster than you ought to I was happy. I really need (not want) a new helmet, just going to have to grit my teeth and get on with it.
Afraid I’m gonna have to stop you there… lol
Do they do XXXL as I have the biggest melon head you have ever seen
I have the original GT Air, and basically most helmets were tight on my forehead specially Arai. It would possibly be a good fit for you. Its not a great time to go shopping and being indoors but the best thing to do is to go to a shop and try it on for 15 - 20 mins while walking around. My head is a round shape and the gt air was the only one I could use. Its a very personal thing so I wouldn't go on online advice, you have to try it on. It has to fit you right for it to be safe.
You value ya head at a £10......wow somethings you dont scrimp on and a lid is one
it's like when you see ppl sell helements second hand, I was told a few things, one is get right fitting one, not too tight or lose, once there get knocked, throw it away, and after 5/10 years there expire due to the materiel. I donated my old helmet to fire and ambulance as there used them to practice on
£10 for a helmet !!! What's it made off ..... Cheese or Egg Shells (lol)
For this price I don't know why people bother to comment about safety. It's 10quid. It will suit some but not others. I'd buy this for occasional pillion rider but yeh I wouldnt use this full time. Spend at least hundred minimum.
Picked my 2 up 2day in the off chance I buy a scooter and mopehead some where down the line
Lol thought for a moment it was a serious question as some helmets really mess your hair
It's thermoplastic so if your just planning to bump your head on the shed roof, you'll be fine.
I have this helmet and find it well vented even when closed which can be bad for colder rides . Great for summer though
Thanks for the feedback (y)
Shark are great helmets if you like a shower whilst riding... Back and forth with Shark about 4 times - god knows how many times it was smashed around during shipping. They say no problem yet I get wet every rain ride - doesn't happen with any other helmets. They look good on the surface but don't be fooled.
Same experience I had with it - there was an awful whistle from the visor at anything above about 30MPH. The fit and finish was also pretty bad, the thing would leak water in through the sides of the visor. Last time I bought a cheaper end helmet and has pretty much put me off the brand. Went for a Schuberth C3 Pro to replace it after a couple of months and then the AGV Sport Modular Carbon a few years later after the C3 was looking pretty worn out - both of which have been great, the C3 edges the AGV though as far as noise but then the weight of AGV is amazing for a flip up.
I have the original Duke and pinlock is a gamechanger. I would buy this if I was still riding. Bike has been parked outside rusting away since pre lockdown. Heat!
Can't comment on the lid but I've used sportsbikeshop a few times and they're spot on highly recommend the shop (y)
5 star SHARP rating https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/helmets/caberg-duke-ii/
Wow, I didn't know it was single shell size, my other half would look like a bobble head with an XS
now if only I can get one at this price for a 60.5cm head on amazon as the free returns if the wrong size is ideal!
yeah seen these go for as high as £88 approx, got my eyes on one at £18 at the minute but the description says Large then lower down says medium. ..lol - I'm a 60.5cm head which according to their helmets is a large, however do not want them to send me the wrong one as the site I've spotted it on says you pay return postage and then they deduct the postage from the refund. Which is confusing as doesn't that mean you end up paying it twice..lol
My Shoei NXR is 2XL, however, I *just* fit into this in XL. Great find.
Vice, chisel, hammer?
Blimey that's a lot of helmet for the £. Sadly my head doesn't come in M
Mine just arrived today, 24h Parcel Force. (Free delivery) Perfect fit, mine is the MS (when the K3SV was a ML) So light and small its ridiculous! Comes with 2 bags (one is 100% cotton), pinlock 120 and a small bottle of lube for the visor springs. Very happy with the upgrade indeed. Not any different from my prwvious 550£ Airoh.
True. Unless you already know your size in AGV lids (they all vary) it’s perhaps not the best time to be looking for a new lid, unless you desperately need one.
Not sure if you've been out during the last year but, showrooms are closed and there is a viral respiratory pandemic, going around trying helmets probably isn't the right idea. Some people know their number too, not to mention there are free returns and swaps. Take care.
As someone with a J cup bra I measure up as a 52 chest even though I'm a size 16 everywhere else. My bf is a bodybuilder and his chest is a 53 chest. People come in all sorts of sizes but not necessarily fat lol.
Mine arrived and is going straight back. Sadly I don't have arms like an orang utang and even though I ordered one for my chest size you could probably stuff a small gibbon down the front with me wearing it and there would still be room.
Great deal, but i've given up buying mc clothing online, unless its something specific that i've had before or already tried on in a shop. The sizes are often all over the place.
I've a Triumph Viper Jacket available in 40, hardly worn if anyone is interested.

How do u get it to that price?
Can't put price on 5 star helmet! Great find! ahh..."Looking back at the data, recent thermoplastic AGVs like the AGV compact have scored 4 stars out of five and in fact, of the four thermoplastic AGVs that have been tested over the years, every single one has scored four stars for safety, which is a very impressive result indeed."
Average price is £100-£120 shame it's a small
Thats a great price. Have an AGV lid myself and very happy with it. If you're after a small, thats a bargain
I wouldn't expect otherwise, but personally while riding in the (other) waterproof gear I slap on fluorescent overtrousers and overjacket anyway when it's raining -- both to protect my gear from being covered in grime (which will impact breathability), and to increase my visibility.
Yes, true. I guess it depends on your expectations and budget.
The 115 Good reviews on the Sportbikeshop website seems to indicate that most buyers are happy with this budget jacket. It has the limitations that Bentobox mentions, but you have to look at those in the context of the price and the how you are going to use it. The Richa Infinity Pro listed on HUKD is a far better jacket, but is 2 1/2 times the price.
Because I've tried them out and most the competitors. They are junk IMHO. Not 100% waterproof, (check out what people say. But seems the seams can leak). An odd fit/shaping, (very large neck aperture, with an adjuster that comes undone easily). Plenty of bad design features, (very short body with not enough overlap between that and the pants, neck aperture. The thermal liner in the pants is longer than the shell). Feels very light and cheap. No back protector. Just pay a bit more and get the Richa or RST suits. Both have better fit, finish, material, design and come with a back protector and are both D2O armour I believe..
Why do you say that?

That will be a waste of money, you will need to keep the vents open and the visor up,unless you can walk with 20-30 mph minimum
i don't have a bike but for covid safety might get one anyway just to wear walking round town
Arai designed their round shape to glance off impacts- integrated visors (or rather the controls and buttons for these) create catch points. All the vents etc are designed to break off rather than catch on these.
Thanks. You're right on the helmet, I have been very conscious of having safe riding gear and got some quite high viz stuff but I stupidly went for a black helmet. I think I'll put some reflective stickers on then go for white on my next helmet. Been driving a car for 15 years and have always been quite active in the way I drive, no distractions in the car and anticipating the worst that others might do. But also well aware that anything can happen no matter how clever you think you are.
Not sure, they say it just compromises the safety of their helmet. It was a statement they made over 2 years ago in regards to multiple enquiries as to why they hadn't done it yet. Arguably some of the best helmers on the market but it's the only thing stopping a purchase by a glasses wearer like me

Always best to try a helmet on in a shop, unless you know what helmet shape your heed fits into i.e. shoei or Schuberth for me. If you're going to be riding a bike you're probably looking at £150 (before discount) as a starting point. £30 is what you might pay for a cycling helmet and that's all I'd use this one for.
I think minimum 4 stars in the test is acceptable for my use. I believe the Mt revenge is a budget helmet which meets this. Top brands doe always seem to perform well for durability . Cheaper helmets are fine but shoei and agv I use wear very very very well as in you could use it for 4 years and not look that diff from new
They are used ones of course
I just need one for go-karting so I don't have to wear the ones from Teamsport (covid and all that), would this be suitable for that?

There are some very odd comments on here. Your Brain is literally the last part of your body you want to damage.
Spend £300 on this and you won’t need a new head...
Thanks for sharing @TONY_HAGUE (y)
Depends how much you value your head. I'd rather wear one of these than a lot of junk that gets sold for £50-£250 nowdays.
Great helmet, but concerned that this is untreated, other than the standard gelcoat; the epoxy matrix degrades under UV light and is undetectable. If you're an avid biker, strength can reduce by up to 30% with 1000 hours of exposure.

It says nothing about the mount needed to fix this to the bike. Which obviously needs to be factored in when thinking about price. In the picture it looks like a Givi mount. Though £19.99 is a cheap price, how secure and water resistant will this be?

Not a bad price at all, and probably suited more to summer riding but still for this price there's not a lot to argue about.
Do you not bother with gloves now, since breaking bones that were not in your hands. :/ :)
You do know that gloves are worn on the hands and not across the top of the chest area! (cheeky) . Unfortunately part of riding is living with the risk that something might eventually happen regardless of fault. Riding with poor gear is like hiking your kids around in the back of an 80s fiesta with no seat belts, nothing might ever happen but if it does at least you did everything you could to reduce the fallout. Personally I look for CE protection in all my gear as I said its usually a long term investment but appreciate not everyone can afford great quality stuff especially when starting out either. Also came across this recently. Haven't bought a new helmet in a few years, so always previously looked for the kite, but this is pretty good at checking for helmet safety. https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/ (y)
I had an off, may aswell have been wearing marigolds as the gloves didn't stop the broken collar bone and shoulder blade.... ;)
You ever fallen off even a bicycle? Skidding along tarmac at even 15mph is going to leave you with scars. Guess what happens if you come off a motorbike/scooter at 30+. Not pretty. Not fun.
