Thought this was a harmony remote control (cheeky)
All Binatone Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2018
Has anyone found any of these in a London TESCO?, thanx.
Tesco Newtownabbey. The same place as this deal. They had about 15 home phones all reduced so it might be worth checking your local store
Where from. Our phone does ring occasionally. But it’s been broke for a year. At such a bargain price I might get that so I can put it down on all the PPI people.
Someone will need it someday (angel)
Why pmackers - you don't need it! It's junk ;)
No longer sell this product. Expired?
These are great value at £9.99 delivered. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01NAMF5SH/ref=twister_B00KW2HFYA?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
You should also be able to charge these directly with a micro-USB charger.
0.5 Watts! I wouldn't go less than 5.
A great deal
I think this is the phone we've got. It's rubbish but it's cheap! XD
Great find :)
20 black list + 20 white list numbers
Thanks for the comment. I liked this phone cos of sound quality is good where as many other phones are cheap but have bad sound quality. I checked display angle, horizontal angle is fine, vertical angle is poor.
I think it's because everyone is comparing it to the recent BT phone deals from tesco. I bought this phone in Asda as I couldn't get the BT one's. It seemed a good deal however I was not happy with the display. It was listed as a blue backlit display however mine is white and viewing angle is ridiculous When angling the phone slightly the display disappears and is completely unreadable. So even with my wifes Asda staff discount I'm afraid it's going back.
'beast from East' fir my deal!!!! Anyway if you think it's not good deal please comment why? So if I've made wrong choice, I can give it back whole I can. If there is a better deal please care to share in comment.
Changed my landline over to VoIP a year ago and route it to a PAYG handset. This looks smart for the old cordless phone look I was used to before, duly ordered and heat added!
Says it comes with desktop charging cradle . Thanks for heads up about asda will get my mum to go there and check it out.
Was about to jump all over this, but then realised you need a dock to charge this. Also avail at Asda for same price for those without prime
Heat added, op! I think this basic phone will be very helpful to a variety of people, especially with large buttons and SOS feature. Good spot, and thanks for the post. (y)
We have used Binatone radios like this - but with built in re-chargable batteries - at our holiday house for a few years. They work fine but I don't think I paid any more for the pair than the cost of this item (remember ours include re-chargable batteries), so I can't see that this is a particularly hot deal (although the radios are probably perfectly good). So: a good item but a poor deal.
use them when camping with the kids if that's any help; good fun!
Has anybody ever used a walkie talkie whilst skiing? I’m going in the new year and wondering if these are useful for that or is it a bit weird:o
Perfectly legal in the UK however the range is likely to be around 300 metre not anywhere near 10km.
Uses licensed frequencies straight out of the box which you're not allowed to use in the UK - need a programmer to change the frequencies. https://www.essexham.co.uk/news/baofeng-bf-888s-review.html
Range not good try https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Baofeng-BF-888S-UHF-400-470MHz-Two-way-Ham-Radio-Walkie-Talkie/253108918909?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 As the Woolly Bugger settles on the lake......
Amended to show the Amazon price (embarrassed)
As above cheaper from amazon!!
They will be a set frequency range so that no licence is required to use them, I think on the other model a licence is required however I am sure that these radios could be reprogrammed to enable the frequency band and additional chanels with a little bit Internet research (nerd)
POWYSWALES: No, and the police now use digital radios so you have no chance even if you could re tune these radios, gone are the days of listening to the police with radio scanners. I was joking, it's not special listening to police radios. There is a few police radios what are made public by Police. They are mostly USA Ones but some UK
Maplin seems to be no longer selling them though so this seems to be the best price.
i thought this looked like a bargain too, then googled them only to see Maplin selling them for £9.99

These are super cheap walkie talkies. I got some from asda earlier this year reduced to £2.
Just picked up mine not long ago from Argos. Big difference to the crappy cheap ones from eBay which claim to be 720 HD. This is a much better quality. They look the same but a huge difference. Ebay sell replicas
So is it better to go for the ebay links? Cheapest seems to be GBP 6 which is reasonable.
what do people do when they park car is it visible from outside of the car or one have to remove it eveytime? if so bit of hassle i guess.
This looks like the one I bought from TomTop for 6gbp...
I only install the best make cameras in my car, thinkware. Not cheap but nothing comes close. Tried them all past 10 years or so. Cheap ones. Winycam. Blackvue. Blackvue and winycam cause dab issues. Cheap ones and mini series like the 806 have appalling build quality or awful suction holders and poor parking mode or low light capability. 806 day time pic quality was pretty good but build quality was dreadful. Thinkware now have cloud like blackvue but it's fat better and also in next few months it will be even better with parking incident alerts sent to your phone when someone crashes into your parked car when you are not in it including a vid of the incident.
Found one in gallions reach beckton store x
cheap as chips,heat.
do Asda do scan as you shop?
Yes, the label says £10.50 was £42 but scan as you shop said 4.20
It is £42 and scanning as £4.20. But bang on deal though. Original link: https://groceries.asda.com/product/home-phones/binatone-black-telephone-concept-combo/910000802193
Just got them for £4.20,last set in blackwood store
I bought them from Argos for £10 at a Argos clearance many years ago. Can't believe still they are still selling but very good phone . Voted hot
I think they are back up to £42 now
Great price, got these for 97p from currys long time. Back
campsites aren't great for WiFi!!! also hillwalkers and country rambles aren't likely to have it either...
yes, provided you have WiFi or mobile signal that's a good solution, if you're in the countryside that may not be so practical though.
Zello is "push to Talk" and works on WiFi, also no data and is worldwide provided both parties have access to WiFi.
This is why I like my binatone 950 radios, they have the hidden channel 9 that nobody else seems to use. http://www.transmission1.net/viewtopic.php?t=23330
It's actually the exact same one for £2!
Just found one (i think it's slightly different) at my local asda for £2!
No numb nuts I MEANT an actual walkie talkie app
... isn't that just ANY social media app that has a talking function? Whatsapp, facebook messenger, the actual PHONE itself...?
Shame you can't get a walkie talkie app that would be cool
Perfect for IKEA.
Just in case anyone is thinking of buying these for their kids, they will pick up CB's and taxis, some of the language coming through can be quite colourful. oO They were bought for my daughter by her Uncle, I have since made them 'disappear'. They should be great for anyone that doesn't mind swearing though.
Pay a little more for the rechargable ones, or factor in the price of 8 rechargeable aaa batteries.
As you said.
what about the 180 who only gave them 1 or 2 stars did you not see them or just choose 2 5 star reviews randomly!!!!!
Looking at the the reviews on amazon most are very happy with range. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Binatone-Latitude-Twin-Walkie-Talkie/dp/B000X2BYYQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1488363413&sr=1-1&keywords=Binatone free photo upload
Pink ones are £11.50 !
good luck with the 3km range!!! unless you are in the desert with nothing between you they will only work around 100-200 yards,I used them to keep in touch with kids in Disney but were no use to many obstacles between transmitter and receiver, proffesional ones would be hard pressed to reach 3km never mind mickey mouse ones!!!
