Return flight to Bogota (Colombia) £331 (Departing London Heathrow, Manchester or Birmingham / November - April departures) @ KLM

If it’s only an extra £60 ‘ida y vuelta’ for the suitcase then heat from me. I often fly to ASU which always adds £200+ to these prices but do often see BOG or GRU for 500+ ish (don’t know if that includes hold luggage) and often the best prices are from LHR so heat from me

60 quid for 23 kg, still a good deal. Ticket price hovers around 600+ usually. hand luggage allowance is 12 kg btw.

This is the bit that puts me off, and I found from last year a lot of airlines now put their cheapest flights (which show up on skyscanner and momondo for example) as those with hand luggage only, annoyingly. In the end I went with Avianca direct from London, even though I only take a small case and a backpack. This deal is pretty good anyway.

....and back to the price. How much extra for hold luggage? - I mean it’s a long way to go with just hand luggage which makes the price a bit misleading

What a police officer he must have been...

Diesel £1.23 Petrol £1.21 per litre @ Sainsbury's Castle Vale Birmingham
Posted 17th JunPosted 17th JunLocalLocal
Spotted @castle vale sainsburys Birmingham. Petrol also £1.21 per litre

Not voted either way, but I will never understand why people get so excited by the prospect of saving a pound or two on fuel (skeptical)

Thanks. I have a 4yr old Honda 2.2 turbo diesel and I have not noticed any difference between any retailers. I just buy the cheapest! Happy motoring.

No idea about Tesco and Greenergy etc. All I am saying is that I get the same mpg when using standard Tesco diesel then when I use Shell Premium.I have a 4 year old Mazda 2.2 turbo diesel with only 107g/km CO2, and it does not like certain supermarket or main retailer diesel. Happy motoring with whatever fuel you use.

Sorry if I badly worded my post, but I will leave you to continue favouring Tesco standard diesel in the belief you get better mpg. Do Tesco still use Greenergy for their fuel supplies as I've been retired for six years? And do they still contain 5 percent biofuel? And does the biofuel still contain palm oil. Maybe the palm oil, if present gives you better mpg.

I have put your comment to my neighbour who is in the petroleum industry, and he finds it extremely alarming that a tanker driver would be responsible for putting additives into any type of fuel! This tasks lies with the technicians at the refinery!

I'm out in Brum this weekend so may give it a whirl.

I wonder if it's eat in only or if order online and collect included. Nothing mentioned on the website though.

From a Zoo to a bigger Zoo

You got in there first, just said same thing. Our reason for going to Uganda instead for trekking. We will end our trip in Rwanda but not gorilla trekking there.

Yes you will need yellow fever certificate and anti malaria tablets. We had the yellow fever for Kenya anyway. Malarone is the recommended tablets for malaria. Edit: I don't think you need it specifically for Tanzania but we certainly do for our itinerary... The permits for gorilla trekking are cheaper in Uganda than Rwanda. We actually wanted to go to DRC for the Volcano trek but as the FCO advise against travel you can't get travel insurance currently. Hoping to add that in at another point though.....

Just checked and the Gorilla trekking is actually more expensive in Rwanda rather than Uganda, my mistake.

Qatar airlines have pretty cheap flights too. Just checked Cardiff-Kilimanjaro 4th Sep - 16th Oct and that is £435. They also have reasonalble prices to Dar es Salaam and Johannesberg which you can mix and match to fly in and out of. I was looking at going overland between Johannesburg and Kilimanjaro for those kinds of dates and prices. rachelandgromit do you know if you need a yellow fever certificate for your trip? Looking at the info it looks like you might need one if you go from Uganda to Tanzania, but not as you are going from Tanzania to Uganda. If you plan to go gorilla checking I assume the price of the flight is pretty small compared to that but I believe it is much cheaper in Rwanda compared to Uganda. (Though I did meet someone recently go got it very cheap after just driving over the border into the Congo without going proper border checks and then arranging it with the military after not surprisingly being pulled over and detained. Not something I would recommend though ;-) )

Any suggestions on best way to get to international drive from Sanford Airport pls? Ta

I went in April with 5kg, it’s doable if you have access to a washing machine.

Thanks so much! Had a really bad week and this spurred me to book. My best friend lives 10 mins from Sanford and I didn’t think I’d be able to visit for months! Never been to Orlando. Let’s see how good I am with 10kg hand luggage (annoyed)

Only if i had the holidays, only just got back from a 21 day Miami to Clearwater road trip as well. Fantastic sunsets, great airport to fly into

Excellent thanks

Thanks we took an Uber and paid £45 from Sanford to international drive. Took about 30mins peak hour traffic around 5pm. Next time we will be hiring a car for sure and explore on our own.. Thanks for suggestion :) (y)

You could...I should imagine it'd be upwards of $100 each way. If you're comfortable driving it's a no-brainer, plus it gives you options for travelling to other parts of Florida (say Tampa) and you're not on someone elses schedule.

Thanks will follow if we get a car hire.. Worse case would taxi be an option? Ta

Use the 417 Toll Road South, it starts in Sanford and runs close by the airport and goes all the way down to Kissimmee and Celebration, come off at Exit 6, its signed International Drive. Ok so it will cost maybe around $10 but its a nice easy drive and avoids all the hassle of the I4, which is toll free but often congested and not a pleasant way to start your holiday.

TUI Website down "Sorry - we're currently having a tidy up. This is so we can provide you with new and exciting holiday options, and improve your online experience with us".

I believe TUI’s trading losses are far greater than TC’s as the bulk of the TC’s losses are write down so not affecting their trading position their cash flow seems OKish. I would book a holiday with TC tomorrow if they could do it cheaper than DI

We have done three weeks in the USA with hand luggage only when a couple, sure we have to do a few washes but far better to travel light. We usually now with DD tend to have one piece of hold luggage between us.

I'm sorry my comment came across as that. I am not implying or assuming anything about you. It'd be stupid if a person's online comments and persona alone were used to define who a person is/isnt. I respect that not everyone is comfortable with segregation in whichever form it may take, hence the reason i said what I said. Again, I'd like to apologise for my inability to present my point appropriately. P.S I'm sorry about the length, doing assignments etc and now i cant seem to help it. Lol

That is so so funny being targeted for a long lecture because I am not racist, ageist or sexist.

You're entitled to your own opinion. However, It's a place of worship, and as it's opening its doors to people from all walks of life, I'm sure sitting separately isn't going to affect your rights in any way. Ofcourse, if you find it bothersome, you do not have to go. Others, that may be more open minded to learning about other's way of life/worship may not see this as an issue. Also, if someone is in need, whether the institution requires men and women to sit together or apart will not matter. Use your own principles to define your own actions, but do not assume others share the same.

Discrimination on the grounds of race, age, or sex. is not at all civil though is it?

I think it depends. I'm guessing if it's set up for people of other faiths and none they may allow it to be mixed. Whereas if its a normal iftar then it'll be separate. Hope this answers the question. Can people stop being rude please? If you have a genuine question ask away, and those that don't have an answer please keep it civil.
