Domino Event - mini pizzas for £1 (Birmingham)
LocalLocalFound 19th AprFound 19th Apr
Dominos at Cotteridge doing mini pizzas event today only £1!! Cheese or Pepperoni Not sure if its nationwide

Just called and they said it’s finished :-(

Actually it didn't taste of anything at all. It was a double blank.

Yeah, those double sixes are hard to get down.

My god everyone seems to be posting good deals down. I thought people would be happier and more generous with the heat.....or maybe it’s ‘too hot’ in the UK right now :/

I hate Dominoes because I ate one once.

I got a premium upgrade with 'extra legroom' on a transatlantic flight back when they were First Choice. We got stuck in front of a wall. As you can't put your foot underneath a sheer wall the practical result was that you basically had less room to stretch your legs than with regular seats. Our upgrade didn't cost us anything (staff benefit) so we didn't really have a moan but the people next to us had paid a fair bit and weren't happy. Not convinced they've improved things since they were taken over.

MAN to SFB, 28th April to 8th may, £229 pp if you can make those dates work for ya? there’s also premium club seats at £195

Just a tip. Car hire is always a risky business - will I get ripped off for damage already there on the car before I drive it away? It's not so much of a problem in the US as elsewhere, like Spain, Italy etc, but to be on the safe side I'd recommend you do a walk around the car with a member of staff noting any existing damage (they're supposed to do this but never do) and/or do a walk round taking a video of all 4 sides and top of the car, focusing in on any areas of damage, scratches, nicks, dings etc., making sure you are seen doing it. Same thing when you return it. A few minutes start and finish of your holiday could well save you a headache and lots of cash later on down the line. There's also insurance you can take out here before you go to cover any damage excess and the like. Can't remember what it's called but it will be around £20-£25 and will replace/compliment the insurance you get out there. Again, not so much a problem in the US, but car hire staff always try to scare you or put a massive charge on your credit card to cover damage trying to force you to take out their additional, but expensive, further cover instead. Some may even say that your UK cover is irrelevant and won't cover you so you MUST take out their additional cover. Bunkum - just ignore them as you don't have to. Cracking deal - and I'm only 2 miles from Gatwick! But wife works for an airline so gets 12 free flights a year luckily!

There seems to be (or was as I was looking) premium club seats on the 21st and 25th, didn’t look at any others, only 3 on each though. £217 on the 21st which is even better value :)

Search and select the flight you’re interested in, on the next page after you’ve selected it, it lists all available upgrades and options. things like extra leg room seats, exit seats, baggage and ‘if there’s any available’ the premium upgrade seats. when you’ve looked at a couple you’ll get the idea, the premium cabin is small so there’s not always availability and if there’s 4 or more of you it can start to get expensive, but Florida’s never really been a “cheap” holiday :)

Fair point. I've been in the bubble once with virgin and it was great - apart from a toddler up there! Lol But I do find the virgin 747 fleet a bit dated. The dreamliner also shaves 30/60 mins from your journey

I respectfully disagree, The bubble on the 747-400 (which is what VIrgin us for Orlando) is the best economy flying experience in my opinion.

I'm going to the gulf coast so either airport ok for me anyway Dreamliner on tui far better experience than old virgin 787 or 747. I've done both multiple times.

Tui are the rebranded thomson. First choice are part of the group Thomas cook completely different

TUI is free food & drink, movies/tv/games on the Dreamliner. We didn't mind Sanford, not been to Orlando airport but told it's a longer wait.

Found instore for £25 online as £35 @ small heath Birmingham

IMPORTANT I would urge anyone who has bought this seat to read the manual VERY CAREFULLY. This seat can ONLY be fitted with an automatic locking retractor seatbelt (which are what American cars have). Very few cars in the uk have ALR seatbelts, those that may have them are usually the Japanese makes like Honda and Toyota. Our seatbelts are generally the emergency locking retractor type, which don’t lock until you are in a collision and which run freely until you give the seatbelt a sharp tug which will lock it. See page 17 of the manual The individual instructions for fitting the seat rear facing and also forward facing have instructions on how to engage the automatic lock on the seatbelt after you have finished installing the seat, which in most European cars you won’t be able to do.

Thanks (y)

Thats the receipt

Yea its the small heath asda. Iv uploaded the piks of the carseat in store and price. I'll upload the receipt when i find it... Hope that helps

Sony Bravia 55XE9005 55" 4K Ultra HD Smart Android TV - £880 @ John Lewis Birmingham instore
LocalLocalFound 13th MarFound 13th Mar
Just spotted this fantastic tv at JL at Birmingham New street..hope this helps some one

I totally agree!. No TV is perfect and whilst it is a good (great) edge lit, it isnt magic either. I hovered over the 75XE9405 which at £3500 (cheapest i saw it) is imo the best TV I have ever seen at that price bracket until you go to silly money (- its still not perfect, no dolby vision (yet?), the limited viewing angle inherent to the panel and not a great tv if it is doing the scaling for 1080p gaming , its ok for 4k) but £3500 for a tv, even a 75 inch monster, i just could not justify it. everyone ones wallet is different but imo both the 9005 and the 9305 if you can still find one are nice compromises between price and performance. Assuming i cant get the TV i am after, this is probably my next best hope. but i will be waiting for black Friday i imagine to get it down to a price i am happy with.

Reviews of the 9305 talk about some visible "edge lit" picture effects so it's not all great (and for ~£300 more). A good TV but it isn't perfect either

FALD Full Array local dimming. The 2017 sony sets are interesting because the 9005 is an OK FALD set but the 9305 - which is the model above, only has edge lit screen... but it has arguably the best edge lit set up on the market in that price bracket (apparently i am not an expert, just looking at AV reviews) where as the 9005 only has "ok" Full array local dimming and so the sony 9305 actually beats it. i looked at both and they both seem pretty amazing to me.

If I had the chance would've gone for it even though been looking for a 49/50 inch set. Wot is FALD? Please explain acronyms in your threads guys & gals. Heat from me at this price (shock)

Even tho i rate the 9x05 2017 sets I do agree there is a lot of truth here i nthis thread against them, Sonys updates on DV has been nothing short of shocking (not an issue for this set) and i dont really rate android either. Viewing angles ARE limited, and it is an inherent design issue of the panel, but it is why you research what kind of screen you need base on how the set will be watched / used. For me the better black is more important than a tight viewing angle. In general i am no Sony lover, but in 2017 i think they did nail their TVs despite all the above in the area which counts. pic quality. their 2018 sets i am less convinced by, the XF9005 is an upgrade on the XE9005 but its pricy and a downgrade on the 93 and 94 sets. I currently have a 65XE9305 on order (not FALD but about the best edge lit you can get it would seem). if that order is cancelled - i am expecting it will - then i have fairly high hopes for the LG 2018 sets with full FALD, DV and atmos support. I will be waiting for more reviews however or better yet get my mk1 eyeballs on one myself 1st. perhaps oled is the future but i do not know enough about them long term... i expect 8-10 years from a TV - and my use is primarily as a pc monitor / gaming where the burn in could be more of an issue. (sony sets also a bit laggy for gaming @1080p but ok @4k)

It isn't actually that cheap. The fare price of your actual seat (price minus taxes and fees) at current conversion is ~£46.92. A quick search for a Virgin Atlantic return leg flight shows a fare price of £49 and BA £57.

not with Uber

Newark is a perfectly reasonable option for New York. Certainly at least as good as Gatwick is for London. As bozo said, take the train. Traffic through the tunnels can be horrible if you try to go by cab/bus.

There's Leela beach Resort, Royal Goan Beach Club, Heritage village Resorts in South Goa. Intercontinental further down south. All are pretty decent hotels. Those on shoe string budget you have many other resorts. Remember most hotels have option of no meal frills. The shacks are very famous for delicious sea food.

Thanks OP. Booked the one from Birmingham on the 15th. If anyone else is travelling solo and booked the same flight, feel free to get in touch :-)

Good stuff. I may even pop over to see some friends before the monsoon.
