I work in the investment industry and I find you view on how "investments" should be arranged awfully irritating.

Trust me, this is NOT because I feel threatened by bitcoin or whatever - I used to mine litecoin many years ago (check my comments on hukd on graphics cards; I don't hold cryptos anymore, though).

We have a lot of laws and regulations that apply to the investment business, covering money laundering, conflicts of interest, fiduciary responsibilities, due diligence, compliance, insider dealing, etc. The law requires that investment advisors act in the best interest of their clients.

Looking at crypto just makes me sad... ICOs (how many are plain scams?!), hacks (mtgox, cryptsy, youbit, ...), facilitate illegal activities (wannacry hack), money laundering, weapons and drug trade...

Sometimes I wonder whether there is anything positive coming out of this community. Whilst I was following forums everyone just thought about making more money, and many were willing and happy to rip others off or even scam people. It (bitcoin and money) brings out the worst in people.

Treat it like putting a few quid on the horses and you’re fine. Bitcoin has been wreck by speculators and looks like regulation will finish it off. Lost nearly half its value in the last few weeks. Out of the others, the market is so flooded with different ones now, most of them will end up worthless.

That's correct you can say it was greed if that makes you feel better but ill call silliness. You live and learn.

People need to understand that in this market for some body to win someone else must lose, you can't just make money out of thin air unless your the central bank. There is no value created by just buying and selling intangible goods. If everyone were to sell their cryptos tomorrow they would all go to 0, see the bitconnect fiasco.

It's the everything that makes the difference.
I read on overclockers that this is the reference board so it is slower than the Sapphire 280x and other equivalents. Also, it is voltage locked so can't be overclocked to match their performance. Can anyone with more experience guess how much of a difference this will make?

(not the cooling) http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b481/vtx3d-hd-7970-x-edition.html

It will work fine, the faster clocked card will lower its core and memory settings to match that of the slower card but you can just overclock them to whatever you can get it stable at.

Seems to scale just as well if not slightly better in some games than if you were to add a second 7970

Well good luck with it all.

I regret not buying Litecoin just after the Bitcoin explosion. I knew nothing about Cryptos, and Bitcoin was starting to get into the news, so I looked for an Alternative at the time, and second to it all was Litecoin at $1 a coin.

I didn't really see anything to it all as I was pretty ignorant on it all.

I feel like there is something missing with Cryptos, you state interest, that's nice but still. There's a lack of security in Crypto's based upon how they are acquired, I have some pretty neat ideas for my own coin if I were to create one, but as of right now, with what I see, the current top Crypto's won't go far in terms of becoming second to money. There's a solid reason people choose to use USD or GBP, they are pretty stable currencies, most of these Crypto's are built from thin air, and that isn't stability.

I'm surprised a big company hasn't yet released one, it's actually quite weird. (have the capability to code your own coin? let's get together).
