Never received the item! Had to contact eBay and then they refunded me after a month
Ahhhhhhhh ahhhhhhh, I really needed this and I missed it
Subscription not requires Subscription not required
Can anyone that bought one tell me if a subscription is defo required for new account, dont want to open mine until i know for sure
Even better deal then :)
I have this same issue on one of my cameras that sits a little more exposed than the others
I've been lucky not had any of these issues, yet !
I've not had that issue as yet. The batteries have lasted quite well but then they don't get triggered very often. And when they do, it rarely records long enough, regardless of how long I set the clip length to in the settings. Something else that annoys me is receiving a notification to say that motion has been detected then being unable to log in live because another clip is in the process of being recorded. You have to time it perfectly to log in between recordings. The idea behind them is good but there are too many issues that mean they are no replacement for a more traditional setup
Yes - my cameras are basically useless at night, when they are most required. I also find the battery to last less than 6 months and not the two years that they say the battery will last for.
I get the exact same issue. I thought it was fog at first but it can happen any time. It is rare that there isn't some sort of moisture issue somewhere on the lens. Switching from one camera to the next is also a pain. I continually get a message telling me a live view is in progress yet I've already logged out of the last camera.

Having had both systems, I would say Arlo is superior (if you don't mind the battery consumption) Arlo has better image quality, night vision and the app is more fully featured. Blink is ok, if you want something to put up and forget, and you don't want to tinker. If your after compatibility with Google Home, forget Blink. If your after something comparable to Arlo, without subscriptions, look at Eufy. In summary, my Blink system has been quite trouble free, great battery life, pointless night vision, activity zones don't work particularly well. Just manage your expectations.
Thank you. :D
They serve two completely different purposes. I would suggest you take a look at some reviews on YouTube for Blink. If you want 24/7 surveillance, and better image quality (particularly at night) go for the Hikvision.
We have 4 sets of outdoor ones, three covering the back garden, one the front. All are still showing 'OK' on their original set of batteries coming up for a year of usage BUT I have ours set to activate at midnight and turn off at 07:45. Also have set trigger zones on the front garden one so it only triggers if someone gets close to the property overnight - which is surprisingly often although not with any malice ! If you had them running 24/7 then I can imagine battery life would be diminished. Far from rubbish, just perhaps not the choice if you want to run them 24/7. Picture quality is fine in daylight and acceptable at night under IR although it can be affected with a foggy appearance in certain weather conditions. It was the alert trigger aspect I was looking for overnight as we had a lost drunken garden visitor one night and in that respect I can't fault it. Is it going to trigger as soon as you wave your hand - no. But if you're there for more than a few seconds it would in my experience. Some day when prices fall a bit more I'll install a 4k dedicated, local storage setup for 24/7 coverage but for overnight alerts and footage, this is great for the price.

No Problem, it's funny that you should've asked that question yesterday. I bought a Ring Doorview cam on primeday to run along side my existing Ring cams. All of my existing cams are hardwired either by mains power or PoE. I have just installed the Ring Doorview cam today which unlike my other cams is battery powered. In fact it's my first & only battery powered cam. Now there is a slight delay with notifications from all my wired cams but the delay on the battery powered Ring Doorview cam is ridiculous. Battery powered cams are going to be slower than wired cams as they tend to hibernate when not in use to conserve energy & only come out of hibernation when triggered by an alert but the slow wake up time makes the motion sensing fucntionality practically unusable when compared to the wired cams. Admittedly I am talking about Ring cams not this brand but I wouldn't have thought it wouldn't be much different as it's a fundemental difference between the two technologies. Wired or battery powered it is going to be the same no matter what brand. Hardwired cams are always going to out-perform battery powered cams.
We've all been led to believe that there's no way Blink type cameras will work on conventional Li-ion batteries. What kind of performance are you getting?
Thank you.
I tried to get clear confirmation about the free cloud storage on this XT2 camera but it was all too confusing and contradictory so I gave up. The love that execs have for roping folk into subscriptions seems to have distorted the security camera market. Imagine if you had to pay rental to use your home SLR camera or personal video recorder.

Hopefully people didn't wait in anticipation of a better deal, as these are now being sold with huge mark-ups on both amazon and ebay. Clearly the new model is less attractive.
Oh my ! You have a lot of time to waste. Counting how many times the batteries were changed- let’s just go with you being a little efficient-NOT. Strange-most definitely. Anyhow, as I stated twice before, not everyone has had the same experience as myself. I do not however pat you on the back on your camera usage and prowess of utilising the product. I can only give my aspect. As far a changing the batteries, the cameras were all on 24 hrs a day as we live next to bigoted racists and have found multiple nailsat the bottom of our cars. So yes I had the cameras on all the time- trying to catch the racists. Damn camera died on me.. hope this clarifies all as to my camera usage. for the the love of all that is good and right- really? Come on I think we can be better.- manners
You changed the batteries more than 13 times before thinking they may be faulty?! Mine have lasted 18 months without battery change. Maybe email blink or amazon to see if they can help? (Blink being an Amazon company) Worth a shot I would say. They're both very customer focused companies.
Does anyone know of any hacks, to enable the USB port on the sink module, it does have power coming out of it, but inserting a USB stick does noting that I can see in the app settings ;-( As if Amazon deliberately nobbled it when they bought the company.
Like I posted before NOT everyone will have had the same experience as myself.. this site allows for honest experience of products. I can only give MY personal experience. It is always good to have comments from all aspects

Thanks for posting. Purchased these cameras and decided to share my first experiences with them. I previously tested Arlo and Logitech battery powered cameras and they went back. Blink performed better, however it is not all positive as in the reviews. 1) The camera is absolutely theft prone. With the original mount it can be snapped in a second, additional options available on Amazon will add a few seconds if armed with pliers and a screwdriver. I consider placing it inside an electrical box covered with face panel having aperture - it will take time to steal but smashing is easy. Mounting high above the ground - see point 4. 2) There is a time lag between motion and live view/notification. Usually a few seconds but varies. 3) Night vision is rather pathetic: shapes are visible but faces are hardly identifiable. 4) Motion detection range: great indoors, however when placed in the first storey window it only captures movement at the nearest edge of the frame. Say, each side of the triangle is 3m, this means the range is just over 4m. 5) View angle is quite narrow: you can get to the camera from the side and stand under it undetected. Therefore it may not suit everyone as an outdoor security camera.
I don't think there is any conflicting information from Blink / Amazon around access to free cloud storage for the XT2. If you buy one, it's free on this model. That's what it still says on Amazon's site, anything else is speculation. I've had my XT2 system since launch last year. I haven't had to change the Batteries on them once yet. They're a good basic system. We had Arlo prior to this. It had all the more advanced features, chewed though batteries and died due to water ingress. I'd recommend this if you're after a simple no fuss budget system.
This is the problem. Too much conflicting info on these
I don't believe that is true, as Amazon are still advertising them as lifetime cloud. Whilst the blink mini's now talk about the temporary sub
According to some earlier. You had to be singed up by march ish this year, or you will be paying the subscription for these also. Also, I thought only the newer model had flash memory?

All Blink XT2 camera sets now sold out. Replaced with the new Blink Outdoor system.
Can anyone recommend a decent ONVIF compatible doorbell/camera?
Was looking for that information, where did you find it? Thanks in advance (y) Nice work OP
I wonder if you have existing cameras if you can get the new camera and the Version 2 base unit and still get free cloud storage
I have a bunch of blink cameras including one over my front door which is going off multiple times per day. 6 months on and batteries still showing full capacity. The batteries aren’t expensive and are easy to change so if I get a year out of them I’ll be totally happy.

Don't know, but just saw that amazon are oos now, that's a sign surely
Just sent mine back. Very limited in their capabilities and nothing but issues with the motion detection on it. Customer service number provided on their website is actually out of use. As I bought from Amazon it's a no hassle return forunately so didn't even bother trying to get the issue resolved. Many similar issues online, in particular around recordings only being between 5 and 15 seconds instead of the pre defined 1 minute in the app.
Agreed, I have 4 of them. Had 2 replaced under warranty due to power issues but they do the job.
From reading up on the new ones I'd still go for these as they include cloud storage. The new ones require a $10 a month subscription however the do record in 1080p and the XT2 don't. Not that I've ever had a problem with the quality of mine :/
Get these whilst you can the new ones are paid subscriptions, XT2 will offer free cloud storage

Brilliant thank you! :)
Same price at Curry's https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/smart-tech/smart-tech/smart-home/smart-security-and-cctv/amazon-blink-xt2-full-hd-1080p-wifi-security-system-2-cameras-10196683-pdt.html
Shame seemed a good buy but showing as £234.00 now
You can download them locally, storage is cloud otherwise
All setup today, good cameras. Don’t think you can get the videos to store locally? Not a deal breaker really but would be a nice to have.

So a new blink camera is going to be launched this month in America. They will be charging subscription to anyone who anyone has joined blink post April 2020. Anything seen re uk release? Wonder if worth getting one just to secure the free cloud storage with this and future new releases
In configuration you can add the indoor unit for free
Not as good as deal posted 6 days ago. 5 camera system + free indoor camera for the same price. This is same but without the free indoor camera
It only records for a short period of time. I have 2 out front and they both reset at the same time and missed a car pulling away from my front door xx has to take a few seconds or even a minute to consolidate before working again so you may miss something important xx
Have a play with the settings and also (I know it’s a pain) but have a play with the position of the camera and the angle it is at, my camera initially wasn’t very reactive to people approaching it from straight on, I repositioned it and moved it to the right by a meter and moved the cam about 20degrees to the left and suddenly it was perfect.

Cheers for that. I’d rather sell it and get another outside one.
U get 9 months free on the mini for the cloud storage.
I’ve looked at reviews on YouTube and it looks like the mini is no good. You have to pay for cloud on the mini. When it arrives it’ll be straight on eBay.
If you have the xt2 and a mini, does it all use the same, free, cloud storage? Looking to buy. Thank you.
Ordered thanks for this!

It is actually a ‘sync module’, the brain of the system xxx
Ah, thank you x
Every single time (:I
Thats an add on camera only. This includes the initital system i.e camera and wireless router
Same price at Amazon delivered for anyone who cant get to argos

5 camera system not available anymore, only 3 or lower
If you have a mesh system then range isn't an issue. I have a two camera system and I have one mounted 30 ft away from the house and it runs happily.
Are Swann systems wireless? What's the real world range like on the Blinks?
been thinking about investing in some of these and this looks like a decent deal, especially with the payment option. why would the amount of cameras have a bearing on how good this system is?
Overall I'd say yes, although if you're looking at using a 5 camera set up then something like a Swann system might be a better option. For single or 2 camera system then the Blink is great.

You can see live feed
Few months now and I have not had any issues with the solar power charging and it should not affect it in the winter.
I have had it several months now and I use solar power outside and I do not have to charge my device also you can change the motion sensitivity from low - high in the settings in the app.
It did early on, seems its ended now
Code doesn't work?

sounds bad reminds me like sticks to hold go pro in under water and after a long time its very had to undo as some metal has rusted
Unfortunately my findings as well :( Batteries have died in one camera and the screws are so low quality that I cannot get the camera out.
I have some mounts like this, bought three for £16. They're difficult to get to stay where you want, until they eventually seize up with rust. The little screws eat the case up, so accessing the camera to change batteries might be the end of the case.
They are 25% off in Argos at the moment.
I have one of these after the rubber seal on the catch ripped on mine, it's great but the screws they give broke as I was mounting it to the wall.

Yeah that’s what I meant and is how I run mine.
AO will take a few days postage to arrive. Amazon is next day delivery. Easier returns with amazon. Get barcode and send back free at next and lots of other stores. No argument whether it be a manufacture/ WiFi connection / other fault. Xxx
You don’t need a subscription. Mine is on 99% full. Auto deletes oldest clips. Have exactly 1400 notifications as just this second checked. Xxx
Mine works fine on 5gh xx
Blink is part of Amazon anyway so is there any difference between buying this from AO eBay or Amazon direct? You still getting the same customer service from Blink Amazon, right?

Purchased before when at this price. Apart from a couple of times having to reset the module it's been pretty good really.
Ive had 4 XT1 running since launch. Apart from one unit failure about 2 weeks ago (which was swiftly replaced with a new XT2 as a warranty replacement) its run flawlessly. Catch plenty of car door handle tryers!
Not my experience. Not dropped out once. Think a reliable router rather than relying on a crappy isp one may have a lot to do with it.
Complete waste of money. Had nothing but issue with this. Battery life poor, always disconnects even though the module is next to the router. and customer service just makes you do the restart thing again And again. Worse of all is there 3min delay . Really not worth it.
Mine have missed a couple of alerts. But overall very good. Think the key to catching someone approaching door etc is to have the length of field far enough so that they're walking towards the camera for a good few feet. Obviously depends on ya set up. We have staggered steps towards front door so camera tends to actually start recording by the time they hit the last of the top steps. You can grey out areas that might cause false alerts from tree branches waving about. Or maybe low level like a cat.

I've installed mine and happy so far with the quality etc. However, if you use it to cover a porch, be aware that it will not detect motion through windows/glass.
I'd say yes for sure. The notifications usually come up on the app just after a caller presses bell. Depends whos calling. If it's amazon delivery then they'll be gone before you activate live view. Them guys don't hang around.
Are these good as an alternative to Ring, if you’re more after some ‘at a glance security’ rather than a specific doorbell camera? I.e. position this near the front door and check it when your ‘normal’ door bell rings?
And Amazon. With instalments too if that helps. Much rather buy from Amazon.
Same price on Argos OP. Heated (y)

Not going to vote either way. I have this system. 4 cameras. 2 of the XTs and 2 of the XT2s. It's quite a buggy system. Often lags. Batteries don't last two years, but will last comfortably 6 months. It's not bad for something simple, but just know that it's not comparable to something like Nest.
Yep (y)
does it include the module?
Ordered! Thanks.

Clear enough?
You've wasted all that time writing that for what is total wrong. The xt2 are the better camera.
Proper settings, I can assure you. As I described, it can record the person leaving the house but decides it would not record the same person entering the house (using the same path, same doors).
Yes I will try that. I think there is an issue with the camera. Thanks
Try some clean clear tiny bit stops the lense fogging
