The Donkey 3 is available for pre order so I guess that’s why this is such a good price. Hot deal (nerd)

Great pushchair.

Heat great price cold votes make no sense

I have to say this is a decent pushchair, tried it out 2 weeks ago. Only decided against it as it was bulkier than I would like. At this price, definitely better than it was in the discount shop I went to. Good steal for anyone after bugaboo donkey!

Exactly right. Also, at the end of the day too the whole point of HUKD is whether the deal in question is good for the item in question, not whether something else (often not even comparable) can be had cheaper. There will always be something available cheaper.

greendayadam

How is a pricy pushchair any different from a luxury car? I don't see deals for high spec cars being so scrutinised. Both will get you from A to B, it just depends on how you wish to get there and your respective budget

robwdavies

I think with any of these items it's important to understand how you're going to used them and as a result which features are valuable for you and which aren't. Then it can be possible to justify paying more, not always, but sometimes. I struggle with "magazine" type reviews of anything, pushchairs, cameras, cars, etc. because it's impossible for a reviewer to be reviewing from the perspective of you and what you need/want. Cameras is a great example here, some really poorly reviewed cameras have been amongst my favourites, whilst many "Gold Award" models have left me cold. Placing a percentage seems so arbitrary, how does a peek-a-boo window score compared to an extra 5 litres of basket space. Having said all that, we did child one on an absolute shoestring as my other half was a student in med school. Now she's a working doctor part of this purchase was definitely about having something nice, however it was also the item in budget which fitted needs best. I'd absolutely agree though that there is a huge pressure for new parents to buy anything and everything, even if they can't really afford it (or could spend the money in better ways), and as you say in times of furlough it's felt even harder.

robwdavies

Fair enough. My experience is different. If we were all the same life would be boring.

robwdavies

I started out the other way on this. I couldn't understand the hype surrounding Bugaboo, but some time with one, and understanding the features of it (rather than listening to an agenda driven salesperson) actually got me to change my mind on them. To the extent that I was dead set against buying one, but ended up doing so. Typically the Bugaboo pushchairs are substantially lighter than competitors equivalents (first hand experience of this), Bugaboo Fox for example is around 75% of the weight of a Mamas and Papas Ocarro. This weight difference is noticeable, particularly if you spend most of your life lugging them in and out of cars. Little touches too, like the brake pedal, are very well thought out, so you can operate in whatever footwear you have on. Their frames also shy away from the shiny finish of a lot of competitors. This means they might not look as blinging day one, but they don't mark as easily, meaning they look newer longer. You can also buy any component separately to repair/refresh as necessary, prolonging the life (and getting more out of the investment). All this adds up to class leading residual values. This means if you can buy one on a great offer like this, you'll recoup a large amount of that initial investment when it comes to sell. This can often mean over the period you own it they cost you less than a "cheaper" option. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Best price for a brand new one. Thanks for posting.

thatsnotmyname_lol

Ha, thank you for your opinion. Nevertheless it comes simply comes down to a few things for me: 1) Do I like this buggy, yes 2) Can I afford it, yes 3) Did I get it cheaper than anywhere else, hence posting the deal on HUKD, yes

deleted1293960

Lol, Mercs* arent quality any longer - they just LOOK it; if you want a quality and reliable car these days you buy a Kia or Hyundai. Mercs are like this buggy, all about perceived luxury. "a luxury all-terrain stroller" is exactly how this stroller is described in reviews. http://www.momsstrollerreviews.com/bugaboo-donkey-stroller-review/ * 10 years ago, my stepdad bought an E class as his 2nd car; the same month I bought a Mitsubishi Grandis for work purposes. Since then my car has cost me £9.65 in repair bills and his has cost around £10,000, including both Xeon headlights failing, at nearly £3,000 each for replacements.

vbnmu

Especially agree with the last sentence.

AmyBee1613

Couldnt agree more...dont like the people with small minds that think people just buy a pram or other goods...to show off. Couldnt be further from the truth, its the quality that justifies spending a bit more. And if you can afford it i don't see why youre judged on it, if you work for it and can afford it go for it :)

A resourceful one. I think to clarify for those who think people are being a bit bah humbug about this deal, when I was pregnant you got six weeks maternity pay. After that you went back to work. I bought a second hand pram and borrowed a cot because that way I could afford to be off work longer with my baby. Things are a bit more civilised now

psychobitchfromhell

We used the cot that my mum bought second hand from the paper for his eldest cousin. Passed it on to younger cousins after that. For all I know it is still going strong somewhere.

Received the standard Bugaboo black footmuff from JL yesterday. Did take a couple of emails and a phone call to sort. Thank you very much to scw1668!!

Smiffy121

yes they did they sent me a universal footmuff as they confirmed with bugaboo it will fit can’t complain really they let me pick the colour too

Lucem

John Lewis removed the link when they realized there was a error saying a footmuff was included. If you send them the link which was valid when you bought the pushchair they will either refund you £94.95 (the price of the standard Bugaboo footmuff) or send you a footmuff to this value. You do not need the high performance one as the standard one is universal and fits all Bugaboo pushchairs (including the Buffalo). I’m using one on mine and it’s really nice!

smayor

The link no longer shows that the footmuff was included. They have updated the description. There is screenshots of the old description above so send them that if you need. They tried to fob alot of people off so be persistent you should get the standard footmuff as a minimum.

chadders06

This is a cracking price. We have just bought the Bugaboo Donkey chassis for over £800. The full pram cost £1300. Just cause it's expensive doesn't mean this isn't a great deal. This pram suits twins and can take a toddler and baby at same time. My wife and I have reviewed all the options as we are expecting twins and we think this is the best solution. If you need it and can afford it this deal is fantastic.

I visited the Stratford store this afternoon. It seems the deep-discounted stock is no longer available. Only a few push-chairs (mostly Silver cross) with minor discount and a few "extra" parts remaining.
