We didn't get the carrycot just second hand cocoon from ebay. The pram can lay fully flat so it is very good for new born.

Taka_nai

Thanks, I’ll have look. I did checkout a few websites but not much apart from the carrycot option.

sol2dude

it can be switched around and very easy to do, there are several videos on YouTube detailing all the features and functions

Taka_nai

Hi, just curious... is the seat only world facing or can be switched to face you (without the carrycot). Thanks.

sabotage3d

Very nice. I paid similar price for second hand in very good condition :)

Exactly right. Also, at the end of the day too the whole point of HUKD is whether the deal in question is good for the item in question, not whether something else (often not even comparable) can be had cheaper. There will always be something available cheaper.

greendayadam

How is a pricy pushchair any different from a luxury car? I don't see deals for high spec cars being so scrutinised. Both will get you from A to B, it just depends on how you wish to get there and your respective budget

robwdavies

I think with any of these items it's important to understand how you're going to used them and as a result which features are valuable for you and which aren't. Then it can be possible to justify paying more, not always, but sometimes. I struggle with "magazine" type reviews of anything, pushchairs, cameras, cars, etc. because it's impossible for a reviewer to be reviewing from the perspective of you and what you need/want. Cameras is a great example here, some really poorly reviewed cameras have been amongst my favourites, whilst many "Gold Award" models have left me cold. Placing a percentage seems so arbitrary, how does a peek-a-boo window score compared to an extra 5 litres of basket space. Having said all that, we did child one on an absolute shoestring as my other half was a student in med school. Now she's a working doctor part of this purchase was definitely about having something nice, however it was also the item in budget which fitted needs best. I'd absolutely agree though that there is a huge pressure for new parents to buy anything and everything, even if they can't really afford it (or could spend the money in better ways), and as you say in times of furlough it's felt even harder.

robwdavies

Fair enough. My experience is different. If we were all the same life would be boring.

robwdavies

I started out the other way on this. I couldn't understand the hype surrounding Bugaboo, but some time with one, and understanding the features of it (rather than listening to an agenda driven salesperson) actually got me to change my mind on them. To the extent that I was dead set against buying one, but ended up doing so. Typically the Bugaboo pushchairs are substantially lighter than competitors equivalents (first hand experience of this), Bugaboo Fox for example is around 75% of the weight of a Mamas and Papas Ocarro. This weight difference is noticeable, particularly if you spend most of your life lugging them in and out of cars. Little touches too, like the brake pedal, are very well thought out, so you can operate in whatever footwear you have on. Their frames also shy away from the shiny finish of a lot of competitors. This means they might not look as blinging day one, but they don't mark as easily, meaning they look newer longer. You can also buy any component separately to repair/refresh as necessary, prolonging the life (and getting more out of the investment). All this adds up to class leading residual values. This means if you can buy one on a great offer like this, you'll recoup a large amount of that initial investment when it comes to sell. This can often mean over the period you own it they cost you less than a "cheaper" option. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Thank you xx

Ah yes I didn’t use from birth so I guess that would make a big difference. Congrats on your baby!

meem

I endes up buying the Maxi cosi adorra with Cabriofix seat. The reason I didn't go for city mini is it seemed less suitable from birth, its only forward facing and doesn't come with car seat adapters and raincover included

emloutoo

I’m really surprised by that. Can’t understand why anyone would not rate it! I’ve had mine 4 years though, maybe there are newer, better models to rival it now

emribena

Not sure when offer ends as no end date showing but was billed as Black Friday offer and mothercare’s offer that it matched ends this week. You can return it upto 28th January though
