No packing material at all. We considered sending it back, but we bought it as a present, not an investment so it didn't really matter. If you want it to keep, best pick it up from the store.

Perhaps some people have differing interpretations of what constitutes an investment but to me buying a widely available solitary £75 Lego set to sell for say 100 quid in five years time definitely is not.

Don't get me wrong a profit is a profit, be it 50 pence or 50 grand, and I have bought and sold on bits 'n bobs to turn a modest quid or two myself but they were hardly 'investments' just an earner for want of a better word.

I have a collection quirk going on myself with things such as Amiibo and gaming controllers where I insist on the packaging being mint, but it's from a collector's OCD perspective rather than me banking on Greninja number 36 handing me the wheel to my dream yacht in Monaco a decade down the line I will even go as far as admitting we have a few rare Star Wars Lego sets lying around unopened ourselves but it's not for financial gain reasons, we got a flat in Buckhurst Hill and another one in Sawbridgeworth we rent out and own with zero mortgage as investments, not a couple of two bob Lego sets.Sorry to seem to be digging you out here but Lego investors ain't loitering round HUKD to snare a mid range Lego set from John Lewis you know.

Flight, car and RV now booked.

I was surprised how cheap a one-way car rental from Vancouver to Calgary is via Canadian Affair canadianaffair.com/

I ended up booking 15 days car hire for £420 including extra driver, insurance and 'free' tank of fuel, so only £28 per day. Even better, the car is from Avis and they have a depot just around the corner from the Cruise America RV depot in Calgary, so I can drop off the car and pick up the RV easily on the same morning.

All I have left to do is book hotels, but I've got the rest of the year to do that, so I'll wait for some Expedia or Bookings.com discount codes.

We will have a couple of nights in Vancouver before collecting the car and then heading over to Vancouver Island for a few days and then making our way across to Calgary. We are renting the RV as per your post, bur going for the 'normal' style RV (same price) as it allows access to the rear living area from the drivers cab. The one you suggest doesn't have that facility, you can only access the living area via a back door, so if you want to stop for a quick brew it's not as convenient (particularly if there are bears involved!)Our return flights are with Air Canada rather than Transat. If you have any more suggestions regarding our itinerary (only booked the flights so far) let me know, but thanks again!

lol.

Chuck, you're the only guy in the world that can slam a revolving door!
A wind-up LED torch would probably be a better bet for power cuts.

If you must have a paraffin light though, go for a Tilley lamp (which have a mantle), rather than one of these.
Make sure you use/ are sold proper C1 paraffin to fill these, don't know if it still happens these days, but some places used to substitute heating oil etc when asked for paraffin, which will burn smokey, producing lots of carbon monoxide. That's how my dad's Tilley lamp got ruined.
