No! Go and tidy your room! NOW!!!!
Top trump you sound like my parents!!!!!!! Can I not just spend £200??????? :)
The cheaper £90 model IdealWorld sells, has the same feature. Look at the little handheld brush peeking out at the top left of the picture below.
Thanks too trump underfloor heating will sort the dampness.
I understand they are probably never sold for £450 but I was looking at getting the lift off version and this seems to be the greatest reduction on price from rrp
Sorry to hear that :)
I bought a Vax. It is crap.
Sometimes it is.....sometimes you need the active enzymes in this to destroy the source of the odour. Works well on not just pet mess, perfect for spilt milk and vomit especially in cars!
Sometimes it cheaper and better to go back to basics https://www.rd.com/home/cleaning-organizing/5-best-baking-soda-and-vinegar-cleaning-solutions/
Eveything is what it is......
i generally do not bother when it comes to stuff like this.i mean it is what it is. (strong)
Don't read the one star reviews...
Oh dear -static brushbar :( . About as much use as a chocolate fireguard . :S . Don't members ever read reviews before posting dross ? Pay a little extra and get a rotating brushbar / s model .
Thank you n15hu :)
Do the shake and Vax and put the freshness back. Super clean suction. Thank you Zany. <3 8)
The reviews are 88% favourable on ebay. (y) Always a good idea to check and research before buying such items. Thanks for your input it will help others deciding to buy or not. Edit: on the plus side it is nearly £30.00 cheaper with this deal than on Amazon.
Cheap enough but is it good enough? Over 30% 1 Star reviews on Amazon.
So, it's a carpet muncher?
What's the water capacity like on these compared to the rentals? It looks smaller. Last time I had the rental, I kept having to empty/refill it every few minutes. A right PITA but did a splendid job.
Gave me a headache too when I saw the price! Heated though as you say cheapest price I can find, think i.ll just hire one though, Sympathise with your headache!
Heat for the description - Made me laugh :)
If anyone's looking for the model rogparki recommended above (thank you again!), it has since sold out on both appliancesdirect.co.uk and amazon (£104.99). The one mentioned above in Studio doesn't have the stair attachment. I found the model with the attachment at freenetelectrical.co.uk for £91.98, next day shipping included. I had never heard of freeNet but after a bit of searching they seemed decent, so I took a chance and ordered. My order arrived yesterday, used it today. I'm pleased. Worth checking them out if you're hunting for a carpet washer with rotating brushes and a stair tool. https://www.freenetelectrical.co.uk/vax-w86-dp-r-dual-power-reach-carpet-cleaner/
These are truly pointless. Go on ebay and buy a refurbished higher end model. Or if you only want to do upholstery, stairs and car then buy a normal wet and dry "shop" vac from Screwfix. Buy carpet cleaning fluid and a suitable brush and bucket. Hand clean the area you want to clean. Buy a carpet cleaning nozzle off ebay for £16.99, this one works well and fits my shop vac. These static brushes are rubbish in fact a good vacuum cleaner will probably clean your carpets better than this, I used one which did nothing except get the carpet wet, go for the one with the rotating brush, I use the Bissell powerwash cleaner which have very good results. Occasionly sellers have new stock at half price on eBay.
Agree you need the brushes we got the dual v advance total home, refurbished off ebay 3 years ago fantastic leaves the carpets dry with max extract
I'd have to agree with all of the above. We have a Vax Dual Power Pro (spinning and rotating brushes) and its great, i'd definitely recommend. Before that we had the one in the OP and it was rubbish. The static brush makes it really difficult to push on long pile carpet and it doesn't really do much scrubbing anyway.
Studio also has this carpet cleaner for sale, i think its the same one and its cheaper, just search vax dual power carpet cleaner on their website
appliances direct terrible company ordered this a week ago just got an email night before delivery to say it is not being delivered as it is no longer available so they have had my money in their bank for a week but I am not getting my order avoid these cowboys
Great for drowning your underlay, unless the newer models are any better!
This is 65 quid on studio. There is free delivery at the moment too. Word of warning though, this thing is tosh and has a design fault resulting in the belts just melting due to excess strain caused by two rotating bars. Had 4 replacements and counting.
As theavail states, was/is £5 at Asda according to this OP:- https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/vax-carpet-cleaning-solution-15-litre-5-instore-at-asda-nottingham-3033437 Apologies, OP. The Asda deal is for 1L (which I found in my local store yesterday). So the B&M deal is the better value. Heat added!
9.96 @ Asda
Asda Stores were selling this last week for £5 not sure if it was on offer, or this price all the time.
Can someone say why this is cold please as I am in need of some van carpet cleaner liquid so if there’s a better deal that’d be great?(highfive)
Got this yesterday and it got a unbelievable amount of dirt up and the carpet looks brand new :)
Vax are awful. Had 2 different models and Learnt my lesson, have a henry now and it's fantastic. Vax used to be good many years ago but seems as though they just suddenly turned into cheap Chinese crap one day lol
Does anyone know if it heats the water-up?
Is this really that bad?!
You can always return it and get a Shark instead :D
This is a carpet cleaner. Shark is a vacuum.
I got the Shark Lift away half price last week @ £125
This is a great machine. I detail quite a few cars and end up valeting some builders vans. This brings the seats up perfect every time without saturating the fabric. Also great for carpets in the house with the motorised brushes.
It looks like Bissell have changed the black range into white. I would guess the amazon one is the older version of this. The specs look more or less identical
Yeah fair point there seems to be some confusion on power on the amazon website. this is some spec direct from bissell: The BISSELL Lift-Off 11908: Clean whole rooms and fight stains anywhere with the BISSELL Lift-Off™ carpet cleaner. This unit gives you the power of an upright carpet cleaner and the convenience of a removable cleaner. The easy-to-detach portable spot cleaner is great for spots and stains on your stairs, upholstery, and even car interior. The power 1000W carpet cleaner has 10 rows of dual rotating brushes and HeatWave Technology™ along with a removable pod and extension to help you clean all around your home that much easier. The one you found does seem to be good deal, its out of stock on the bissell website - maybe an older model? its hard to tell!
Appreciate the advice . I’ll check it out (y)
Yes. I am sure. fortunetly we were going to do refurb the whole house so wasn't bother. but with new wooden flooring I would not use it. I am sure there are some people who uses it and no problem.
Have wooden flooring - all it does is make the floor wet and push the dirt around. We have tried so many floor cleaners, having dogs - we clean the floors often. I recommend getting this with spare mops heads https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microfibre-Cleaning-Multifunctional-Extendable-Sweeper/dp/B00YPIO0WC they shouldn't cost more than £4 in discount stores like B&M or something.
Thanks for the advice . Are you certain it was this machine that damages your floor? I’ve only recently had new flooring laid and want to keep it clean. But not damage it!
I know lots of people use this successfully on wooden floor but it damaged my floor. since then I have bought Bissell crosswave. it works perfectly on tiles + wooden floor.
Yeah, Studio has a variant VAX W86-DPE for £59.99+£5 delivery. Not sure what the difference is and can't put link in as they are banned. Was thinking of it, but Studio have that stupid credit system - you can't just buy it outright. This Vax W86-DP-B model is also available at AO.com for same price - £95 https://ao.com/product/w86dpb-vax-dual-power-carpet-cleaner-grey-34597-91.aspx
Bought this in June for £89 from Amazon. Finally used it proper last weekend and very impressed with the results - better than I thought they would be. Spot cleaned stains first then two washes and one rinse. Drying takes a while but used a blower from the kids bouncy castle blasting air under the carpet and that really helped. Good bit of kit, easy to assemble, long cord. Heated.
Very similar model to the one I purchased last month for £31 cheaper (Delivered) at Studio Vax W86-DP-E Dual Power Carpet Cleaner
Fabulous price (y)
Just about to move into a fully carpeted place with a new puppy so ordered in preparation! (horror)
You are lucky. Apparently the warranty only covers the motor. Any other defects is wear and tear.
Thanks will take a look
Vax products are rubbish cheap plastic avoid
Bissell is the best brand for carpet washing.
Thank you, I was tempted looking at the price but think I’ll hold on for something better
Finally sorted - got to buy the online membership first, then place another order for the rug doctor applying the code. Bought, thanks OP.
okay, thank you 8)
Thank you :) What is RD? Sorry for the stupid question. (ninja)
Follow my previous comment. Took a chance on purchasing online subscription only without code and then went on to get RD with SUMMER15 added. Heat applied. Thx
Dirty Devil :D
Only paid just over 50 about 18 months ago
Ours has been very useful and I wouldn’t be without it (2 kids, 1 dog) but it’s not wonderful. You have to work on your technique and it’s not easy work. Don’t think there’s a better option for the size/price although we paid £50 which seems about right.
Seems to have great reviews and looks pretty compact. Thanks @benslatz
:S I think i got the last one :S No idea what is doing but thought i'll impress the wife.
Only gets 93% of dirt, that is a lot of dirt! So if you are not using Vax, which make and model? And why?
No as VAX promise a lot but not good in practice plus it’s a lot of money for a cleaner that only gets 93% of dirt up I have had vax in past and they are not good
Has anyone bought one ?!
