We brought the very expensive version with WiFi, for cats, thinking it was a gimmick (that we wanted but expected not to use always) Still 6 months later we are still checking the app if the cats are in or out when they went out etc. Adding curfew to prevent them going out too early, late at night, and also when one was Ill, to stop her leaving selectively until she was better. These are brilliant. The cats will eventually get used to them. I use (good) rechargeable batteries and they last 3-6months ish.
Only time we ever get a draught with ours is when the dog decides to sit there poking her head through to look outside (excited)
Yeah the draught isn't a problem, mine was professionally installed so a little bit of air isn't a problem
I had mine for 7 half years i have to use a lager tunnel because something to do with metal in my door i think. There is hardly any draft as long as you get door cut properly. You could always use sealant round it. If you mean draft coming through the actual flap the cat comes through i have not really noticed it. If its really windy where you live i think they provide with weights to put on the flap so it shuts properly. I need to get new one now not because my cat has ruined it but my 15 week old labrador keeps trying to put her head through it. It still works perfect just getting a bit battered ill wait untill puppy stops doing it.
Bought this at the old house and just got the newer connect version for new place. Great cat flap, wouldn't work at all at first, sureflap sent out a something to test it, and flap worked fine, then found out that the chip in the cat wasn't working. Would never had known if it wasn't for this. Never connect version has an app where you can set the lock/unlock times as well as monitor when the cat is in/out, however it is around £100 more.
