no ones pushing or forcing you to buy another product. it was a recommendation for people who have tried everything and makes no difference!

No one is putting health second. The products are just as good as each other and you could argue vaporub is a better product at a fraction of the price of what you are pushing.

use whatever suits you and stop moaning about the price. health comes first!

Didn't mean to make you feel bad for sharing... Just shared my thoughts as well. I was once told that fillers in the tablets may interfere with the active ingredient and so maybe that was responsible for its lack of efficacy with you. Could all just be heresay (I don't work for a pharmaceutical company and cba to research it) but thought I'd mention so you didn' feel your experience was being belittled in any way (highfive)

I've been on cetirizine for years for hayfever, perennial rhinitis etc, and in that time, had more brands than I can remember. I've always put down worsening symptoms to external, unidentifiable circumstances rather than a change of brand. Is it possible you've experienced the same? You've also got to be vigilant for counterfeit drugs.

I went cold turkey! I would never touch them again though. Would rather have the worst hay-fever for the whole summer than the side effects of these.

Did you stay off them or have to go back on them? The itching is absolutely horrible.

I never read the leaflets that come with medicines but after the experience with zyrtec /cetirizine, I would never ever take anything again without reading the patient info leaflet thoroughly. It doesn't really mention about any withdrawal effects but there are a lot of reports from people who have taken it long term.

Thanks for the info i never thought to look at the side effects,i have taken them everyday for years and suffer badly with dry mouth and insomnia.Time for a change i think.

https://www.drugs.com/sfx/cetirizine-side-effects.html https://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2016/09/05/stopping-zyrtec-cetirizine-led-to-itchy-nightmare/ Most people will be fine but, after an 8 week period of taking them for hay fever I had to endure 2 weeks of intense skin itching like a heroin addict going cold turkey when I stopped taking them.

I know it's 3 weeks later but still, I have just seen this comment and had to laugh: "Cold, because the deal that you're posting is scorchio, but I can't get it, so I'll vote cold on a different product at a different price and whine about it here" some people X)

Cold from me as the big central Brum store (that I went to just to pick up 6 packs to last me the summer) only has packs of 14 Loratadine and nothing else, despite the shelves being fully stacked.

Picked up a 14 pack of Loratadine in my local B&M this morning too :)

I've had severe hayfever all my life, nothing has been as effective as Benadryl plus, it's expensive, yes (around £5.50 for 12 tablets, can take up to 3 tablets a day) but it completely deminishes my hayfever, not even a sniff of it. Only downside is that you're not advised to drink alcohol whilst taking them.

are you going to have a micro array test to find which foods you are sensitive to?

Hey, just wanted to add. I went to an immunologist recently and just want to share. Apparently Fexofenadine only lasts up to 18 hours and are strictly 1 a day. (I was taking this for food allergy but it didn't touch my hayfever symptoms at all.) Therefore there are 6 hours where it doesn't work. Cetrizine lasts up to 36 hours so overall more effective. My Immunologist consultant has tried to refer me for desensitization. (Fingers crossed for that) He mentioned it is safe enough to take 2 Cetirizine tablets a day to ease the hayfever symptoms. hope that helps.

Good deal, before the hayfever season starts & prices skyrocket! Doctors advise people to start taking hayfever meds the month before the hayfever season properly starts, so your deal post serves as a good reminder for me to dig out the Loratadine. Cheers, OP!

Utter tosh. Check the price in boots and also number of tablets included!

nonsense. Generic certrizine can be picked up for 99 p just about anywhere. Benadryl plus is six quid (I know I buy it) but that is a patented drug with no current generic substitute due to the fact it contains acrivastine and the license hasn't expired. On your second note - generic hayfever tablets like these are over the counter that don't even need to be sold in a store with a pharmacist present so would require zero monitoring via the prescription process. Certain classes refuse to pay for anything as they are morally devoid and has nothing to do with their doctor monitoring them.

These are around £6 in Superdrug, so it's disingenuous to say they are always £1. Also, doctors prefer to track medication if your getting ongoing treatment

It disgusts me people would ask for a prescription for a quid of tablets. I guess it allows them an extra can of white lightning

This is a good price. I recently bought a year's supply (12 x 30) of the same generic pills from online company 'Pharmacy First' and it cost me nearly 15 quid (inc P&P). heat OP

This stuff has cured my Hayfever and constant allergies! Another years supply ordered. Thanks OP

Well here's some news for you, they have the same active ingredient as the branded versions you say don't woek, so the drug you take is no different, you are just having a placebo effect

Just realised I may have hay fever after years never really questioned the symptoms I had until a friend told me and it looks like I do indeed have it. Will buy this in the morning and give it a try

thanks ordered

Cetirizine worked well for me last year but no such luck this year! I know Piriton makes me vomit so I guess it's time to try Loratadine. GP also suggested eye drops and nasal spray, but nasal sprays give me nose bleeds so I can only try the eye drops. Hayfever sucks!
