Wow DLC that requires other DLC to work properly! Um no thanks :p
All Sid Meier's Civilization VI Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2020
I think it's the latter. Having enjoyed playing Civ 1, 2, and 5, I just couldn't work with 6. Despite Sean Bean's narration, the game just felt like it was over engineered. Too many things to manage every turn, and the graphics looked like a children's game.
Didn’t like the city spanning in VI, the game overall didn’t feel right. Played Civ V for years, so I’m either not good with change or it’s poop.
Does anyone get fed up with the mid game. Becomes a bit of a clickathon.
Free to play every weekend, if you picked it up FOC from Epic back in May ;)
Have you signed into your account as it will then show 'Install'?
Already played yakuza kiwami with game pass and it is amazing, 0 is slightly better and I found the story to be better by playing that first. I’ve had civ 6 on steam for a long while now (only played once but laptop broke) so I’m excited to get to try it on xbox.
Where’s the option to download it for free? All I see is to but for £11 or game pass any help?
Also, For Honor?
Cool. I always miss these. Thank you
I'll look out for that cheers (y)
Same, bought a few weeks ago and absolutely hooked. Didn’t know the expansion was on sale! I checked the price a few days ago but it was full price. Thank you!
When you go to the load screen, it isn’t obvious but you have to click ‘on’ the auto saves to see them below but the saves will have happened. Hope that makes sense? Hope this helps you next time it happens :)
Mine didn't maybe it it curropt the save either way we'll worth it, plays great on switch
I have owned this for two weeks and have lost copious hours to the game. Already got my monies worth for sure! The expansions are on sale in the e store until 22/07 so definitely going to pick those up too!
I can play it on a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina. However I only play it in short bursts as it heats up pretty bad. Sure you'll be able to play it well enough, but not sure how hot it will get.
Do you know if it would run on an OK mac book from 2015? Thank you
If you purchase Civ on Steam it will run on both Mac and PC. I'm currently running the Mac version
Can someone please confirm if this code (bring it is for Steam) will work for Mac too as Steam suggests that it will but would rather know in advance? Many thanks
Couldn't get into this game at first. Now I try avoid it as I end up losing hours on it. "Just one more turn" - impossible.
All good here mate (highfive) . Prefer the UK copy where possible so might be tempted here.
Thanks mate, hope u r enjoying your weekend so far? Decent price for sure unless someone wanted to try the US route, believe we saw a deal for £20 from there.
That's looking like a good price for a physical copy (y)
Any Mac or XBOX version for similar money anywhere? thanks
Picked it up free from Epic games myself. But I actually enjoyed the game so much, I purchased the platinum edition off instantgames for £24 which gives the base game and all DLC minus the New frontier DLC, which is £25 from the same site(Steam Keys). Will be £49 all in, compared to epic games being around £60 for the plat edition alone!
You guys didnt pick this up for free from Epic?
in fairness digital copy has recently been available around 13, but I'm still more than happy with my amazon US copy from previous deal around 15 😁
I picked this up from Amazon USA the last time it dropped below £20, a great game and good conversion - so many hours in this :-) and Physical for less or better price than digital download... have some heat :-)
I know what you mean I am in the same boat. Its exactly the same with Cities Skylines and Stellaris which has just come out on physical. When you add the DLC's you end up paying more than the actual game.Like to think there would be complete editions at some point but then you end up waiting an age...
I want Civ 6 for the PS4 - without a doubt, at some point I'll bite. My frustration - you've got an expansion bundle, which many say you really want to get, priced at £33. This never seems to take a price drop. Then there is announcements of more content - which will require yet another pack to purchase. £20 + £33 + (assume £33 again) - all comes in rather expensive. Now if they would like to re-bundle Civ6 with the first Expansion Pack and then make the new one chargeable, then we have a deal!
Worked for me, used PayPal and I made a new Nintendo account.. they give the code as soon as you pay and it’s basically a scratch card image of the code! Worked fine though, I’m happy as I missed the 50% off deal on the eshop! :D
Thanks I’ll give it a go. (y)
As in comment above (and replying so you get a notification), I did it through my phone (as opposed to laptop previously), and it went through first time. So might be worth a try?
Well what do you know, tried it through my phone and that worked (previous attempts through laptop). Thanks for the help!
It wouldn’t work for me for PayPal on my phone but when I tried on my iPad it worked first time. Don’t know if it is something on iPhones/Face ID but worked ok on iPad with Touch ID
Oops yeah that is exactly what I have done! :D (embarrassed)
It should be fine. If you were to buy the main game, then changed profile setting region to SA and visited eShop SA on your Switch, you would be able to tell whether or not it's possible ( I think it should be but haven't tried myself )
Wow this keeps dropping nicely - was £13 and change last week - not complaining one bit :)
Will it matter if code redeemed on UK profile before switching to SA for dlc?
Found the switch screen too small for this so sold my physical copy on
I think you’d be fine. Like most games easy to pick up difficult to master! I’d recommend learning the ways to win, its definitely best to know what your end game is (even from your very early decisions).
Ive watched some trailers of this on YouTube and it looks a very complicated. Is it easy to pick up for a non Previous civ player? i was more of an age of empires/command and conquer fan myself.
Interesting. That does encourageme to try it again.
Massively, that said I'm not a gamer so the last time I played Civ was Civ III, I had forgotten how addictive it can be!
What are people making of this game? Personally, I was just a bit bored by it. I've played through a few rounds of it now, and the experience has just felt empty compared to Civ V. I've felt a hint of the unstoppable desire to return, but just none of the excitement or tension that I got, and still get, from the predecessor. Have you guys been enjoying it?
Having spent some time with it over the weekend, I don't think I would play without Gathering Storm now - the system governing diplomacy is dramatically improved. In vanilla, I always felt that you needed to be a saint or a bad actor, and it felt to me like there was no reward for the former. Now a more rational approach is possible. My only complaints were that I didn't see how a diplomatic win was possible (you get to 8/9 points, and then the other civs all vote against you), but it might be that you really need to time your wonders/tech - that doesn't necessarily seem fun to me though. Need to experiment with it a bit more. Also, the space victory (which is no longer based on a mars colony, and also feels a bit more fun) doesn't have an updated video (not a big deal, but a bit disappointing after your first long game). Everything else felt like a fairly substantial improvement to me, and keeps the whole of the game more engaging. There's quite a bit more to learn, and playing without using a wiki/other resources, I realised in the final turns that there was at least one set of useful metrics relating to the climate change mechanic that I hadn't utilised, but I'm looking forward to my next go around, which is saying something, because I usually feel like I don't want any more civ for a while after a big binge! The big pack of additional leaders/wonders etc is good too - I don't really buy/want to buy the smaller DLC, and with these two packs there's enough variety to ensure I don't feel tempted. :)
Oh you had my hopes up then (y)
Ah, no - a bundle of the two major expansions.
The base game and expansion bundle?
This is already a bundle of the existing expansion content. New Frontiers is effectively a 'season pass' for various smaller additions to be released over the next year or so.
Heads up that the DLC is now on sale on eshop - with the two quid of gold points from this deal, it came down to £21. :)
Now sold out.
Where do u add the discount code on mobile?
Thanks - bought!
worked fine for me via paypal, downloading now. Code was instant
Still in stock for Switch. Bought, thanks Op (y)
Really? That’s how deals work. Clearly it wasn’t out of stock to start with and everyone bought their stock out.
It's out of stock so why advertise it?
has it ended? cant see add to basket on mobile
What a great price!
I paid about £24 for this on Gamvio a few months back, think it'll be the final version, then as per usual they released another £24 season pass (mad) a week ago
The entire bundle?
Great game but you can get it for about £27 at CD Keys if that helps anyone save some more cash
Just over a week ago this was absolutely free via "Epic Games"... The offer ended this morning
Fair enough. You snooze you lose I guess! XD
Yes, standard price it seems. Same price on Steam (no sale).
just for this pack
Is this just the standard price?
instant-gaming is currently cheapest I can find at £29.24
Cheaper on epic with the voucher.
That's the base game, this is an expansion
I heard its free
