Funny, thought my 5Dsr was pretty current........ Most folks with 5D mk4 will imagine they're pretty current too.

Expired it's £66.24 now.
I use a CF to SD converter in my old SLR because SD cards are much cheaper and widely available.
Many of us who are still using CF cards are using faster ones than these - I personally use 1066x Lexars almost exclusively.

I stand to be corrected. I'd not looked into them in such depth.

My explanation has clearly caused some confusion. I do mean CFast cards. Yes, they are different things in their technology but can still be used in any CF card slot. AKA if you own a camera utilizing a CF memory slot you can boost it's speed with one of these, that is if the camera can benefit from the technology.

5d Mk iv / 7d Mk ii ? Seriously?
Kulaak

Professional photographers now use CF Fast cards. Superior to SD

Kulaak, professional photographers use what their cameras require, in the speed rating most suitable to their purposes. You speak of CF Fast cards. Do you mean 'CFast' cards, or do you simply mean fast CF cards? They are two completely different things. CF cards are still very much in use, alongside SD-XC, in many of the cameras pros use on a day to day basis. Examples include the EOS 5D (including the latest MkIV), the 5Dsr, and the 7D MkII, beloved by many wedding videographers. I just watched my daughter's wedding video last night for the first time. Shot in Full HD, using two EOS 7d. Outstanding - broadcast quality.

So let's just be clear. Pros are still using CF cards.

They do the job we want them for. Why pay (a lot) more? Also some older cameras won't benefit at all from a faster more modern cf-card.

Not sure, I expect only a little (based on your card speed).

Can't remember where, but I read that the loss Vs lossless compression made no noticeable difference. For what I do speed is very important (for editing/storage etc) so if people who looked harder than I would said they saw no difference then that was good enough for me.

yeah just thought that looking at your table, does the lossless compressed give any speed penalty? loseless 14bit is only 50% more space than lossy 12bit which seems a bargain!

dont think there is a difference just looking at the images but when you pull shadows/highlights etc?

The shape is the norm for Compact Flash cards (still used by some DSLRs), as they are relatively big.

Don't buy from these jokers. Sell stuff they have no stock of. You have to tell them when nothing arrives and then they realise that they haven't sent anything. But they've already taken your money which takes weeks to refund.

A lot of those who vote cold probably don't even know what a compact flash card is.....unfortunately with so many manufacturers of digital cameras moving toward the much cheaper (& inferior) SD card , unless you use a semi-pro camera you probably don't appreciate how good a price this is
