Semi Proffesional?

Deedie

Does not change the point its a standard price for this. This is a deals site, not somewhere to point out the easiest place to buy an item from.

Toptrumpet

They may be exactly the same but different branding, for roughly the same price, but you can’t order online from those stores or check availability. Personally I would rather spend £2 more in the knowledge that I’m able to actually buy the item before I go on a wild goose chase. So for me Argos gets the thumbs up for being able to buy online, reserve or have home delivery.

ZanyAngel

Thanks for your input Deedie. Hopefully this deal will help those who need a fryer and don't have a Home Bargains nearby. (y)

Deedie

They are all the exact same fryer just in a different box. There is no difference between this and the Tesco own brand one, or the one in home bargains etc.

blootoon763

too small to be any use even for one person, not enough room or oil to fry properly, if you put a chicken portion or piece of fish in then the temperature of the 1.5l of oil will drop too much and you will end up boiling it in the oil until it reaches cooking temperature again that is if you can fit a chicken or fish portion into in the first place. Much better and healther to buy a larger fryer with a 3L oil capacity so the oil keeps a nice high cooking temperature.

My 2010 bought cheapie kettle started leaking so I went and bought another cheapie for £5.50 from Morrisons last month, it has a minimum capacity of 0.5 l which is good for two cups of tea or one Sports Direct mug we all own because we failed to untick the box when ordering online.....

Elbandito

Argos's basic is also 6, but one would expect this to be better than a basic one and only 2 pounds more :)

toiletseatlicker

Asda and Wilkos have basic kettles for around £6

snugden

I've been using the same cheap Cookworks kettle for about seven years and it still works fine. In fact I've never had a kettle last so long, because living in a very hard water area they usually only last a year or two. I regularly descale my Cookworks kettle and it works as well as it did when it was new. At £7.99 you can't go wrong.

Is it 3KW, or 653KW (!), or 653W? Typical Argos listing info, utter garbage. And no, it isn't USB chargeable, it has to boil water! The travel part of it is because it is compact, ie only holds .4L of water.

My mum bought a pressure cooker when I was a child over 35 years ago now. Not sure about the ones of today, but when I was a child they were pretty noisy and scary and when the food was cooked I'd quickly make an exit from the kitchen - I honestly thought that the thing was going to blow up. After experiencing that one, I've never actually bought one myself, though I should imagine that the ones of today are a lot safer.

As posted above. Curry's. Russell Hobbs. Cavendish. 4 slice. £19.00. Was going to get a two slice Morphy Richards from Argos. Spotted this online. Popped next door to Curry's and bought one. Recommended. Solid build, looks good in gloss Black and Chrome. It is on the large side. Works well, browns evenly.

Master_Ham

We had a lot of problems with our not toasting evenly at all and had to return it. Beware it doesn't have a defrost button if that's important to you. Our previous Cooksworks toaster was excellent and lasted years.

These things are great for all kinds of homemade food seasoning. Here's my favourite for a Sunday roast chicken (courtesy of cookinginrussia on youtube): - 1 t Peppercorns, mixed (black, white, green, pink) 1 t Tarragon, dried 1 t Thyme, dried 1 t Garlic powder 1 t Dark Brown Sugar (I use Muscovado) 1/2 t Chervil, dried 1/2 t Paprika 2 t Salt 1 Bay Leaf 1/2 Knorr brand Chicken Stock cube Grind those spices in this machine then mix into a bowl with 25ml lemon juice and 25ml olive oil. Use this to baste the chicken.

Gormond

I have a very similar Cookworks grinder and it isn't very good - You can't grind enough spices at once and you need to rest the motor between use.

toiletseatlicker

Cookworks basic white kettles and toasters are around £6 in Asda and Wilkos. As above they used to be £4.99 each. I personally don't need a £30 colour coded kettle to match the kitchen tiles so these cheap kettles are absolutely fine and last a few years.

Plastic kettle. Cold . Cookworks quality is poor . Enjoy the plastic taste in your tea.

Picard123

Just tried out this specific model having bought it yesterday. Works perfectly fine - no burning or sticking or coating fallen off at all. Just make sure when cleaning the inner pan, you don't scrub it or use an abrasive cleaning pad. Just soak in warm water first, then with a small amount of washing up liquid, and clean off the remaining starchy grains with a sponge.

Picard123

Quality is fine. Non stick coating doesnt wear of after one month at all. I've had mine for years.

omendata

Waste of time they all fail eventually. Best idea is microwave and a ceramic tapered bowl = perfect rice unburnt every time. I have got it down to an art now with my Thai curries and coconut rice! No need to spend £15 when you can do it better and tastier with yer microwave! This deal comes up at least once a month - same old questions, same old , same old!

sam_of_london

Very poor quality. Cold .Non stick coating Paint wears off in one month making it difficult to clean.

mutley1

Black is pretty ugly. I got a white one a couple of years ago and works great. They overcook the rice at the bottom slightly but i stir the rice at the bottom up when the button jumps to warm, then continue to leave it cooking on warm for about 5 more minutes before serving. Yum yum
