Rooms are poor plus you have to pay extra for aircon. Pool is OK which is across the road from it but is very noisy.

stefromuk

Don't choose Corfu as it's a dump at the moment bin bags litter most streets , and just looks run down in general compared to how is used to be.

kidrock123

Nice one

JOHN_VINCENT

I used to walk past this and saw a group of girls get dropped of and burst into tears when they saw it. They appeared at my hotel later that week having paid full price to get out of this place. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

zaffaa

Stayed here in 2001 on a lads holiday. Good deal if you want the 18-30 vibe. Definitely not a luxury hotel but a decent base if you want to party for a week. No too far from the centre of everything and a short walk to the beach.

Be very careful with Corfu this summer. They had a breakdown in local services, resulting in piles of uncollected rubbish and loads of cockroaches and rats everywhere. Search for "Corfu rubbish news" to read up on it.

Mentos

First time I went to Thailand I phoned a travel agent for flights. My mind wondered as I waited on hold and then when someone answered I said I needed flights to Phuket (shock) (pronouncing the PH as an F).

InTheKnow444

The food is great in Corfu Worst place I ever went was San Antonio, Ibiza The cafe and bar owners just treated you with disgust, as if all English were hooligans We arrived in Messonghi around 2:30 am, we sheepishly asked the bar owner if we could have a drink and after several, we asked him what time did he shut. His reply was "What time are you leaving" Top bloke and we went there for breakfast every day as the amount on the plate kept getting bigger and bigger until we had to ask him to stop. Great Holiday.

SamMurray

Bloody hell Moraitika was my first ever overseas holiday too! We booked a "square deal" so had no idea where we were going until we got to the airport in Corfu and were handed a scrap of paper with it written on. We'd never heard of the place but had a great time ... that was in 1992 ish :D

If i booked a holiday like this based on two people going and at last minute one person couldnt go ....could I still go alone ? Reason I'm asking see a lot of hols and single supplement is crazy and its often cheaper for two going on deals. Just wonder if i rocked up alone theyd be like nope you have to have the other person named with you. I quite fancy a trip solo to chill in the sun on a beach away from it all and everyone ... :)

MelissaJayne

Have to disagree, last year I booked a last minute from TUI £100pp for 2 weeks in Zante full package. Apartments were amazing and had one of the best family holidays we’ve ever had! There are bargains out there just make sure you read reviews.

kylemear

I really liked the place, just came back last month. I paid a similar price for this holiday so even though the place is kind of tired (and there is a slight rubbish problem) it's worth it for the beach and views.

Madchester

Sweet home Alabama!! I’d love it but I have kids. Hire a car and visit old Perithia, Mount Pantokrator, Coufu old town and have lunch in “Rouvas” I recommend the artichoke and peas, epic..

But you get to go away in October when the English weather will be crap, plus it'll be much cheaper than going away in the summer. I went away in December last year and it was great going somewhere warm while England was freezing over.

Some friends of ours are in corfu at the moment and said the bin men are on strike, not been paid for 2 months rubbish piled all over the place and the added problem is the landfill sites are full. Good price though and sounds like October Girl enjoyed it.

vaiopup

Nice. Shame the train fare to the airport costs more (for us) than the actual holiday. Heat if you're local though.

octobergirl

Heat added as just come back from here its in a perfect location just at the end of the strip which was great for us as Ekati can probably be a bit noisy at nights, the beach was a 2 minute walk down a small lane by the side, the Ionian Sea was so clear and beautiful - air con is £35 per room so if you have a 2 bed apartment whether you use the other bedroom or not you will be charged £35 per room, plus room tax and government tax payable locally I think one if 7 euros a night apart from that the owners of both the ekati (Main Building) and ekati 2 are really really nice people and could nto do enough to help - also food in Kavos was reasonable starter and main for £5.50 - £8.00

Kavos is a dive only good for clubbing and to be honest I also went to malia and sunny beach in Bulgaria which were both nicer and better for clubbing. I did stay in this hotel...it’s ok for the price if you don’t plan on being sober enough to require much from your hotel. Personally i wouldnt go back to kavos or this hotel

MildmanneredCalvin

Kavos is just another Greek holiday hot spot like Faliraki in Rhodes and Mallia in Crete plagued by underclass English people mainly who want a holiday of England with sun, i.e. not being bothered trying to imbibe the local culture at all, if anything, their loutish behaviour proves that they feel that they own the place. If you want Kerkyra (Corfu), you don't stay in a place like Kavos no matter how cheap

lidds

We got married in Corfu a few years ago and fell in love with the old town. Staying in the Corfu palace this time around so we can walk to it every day :) When we were planning our wedding we did everything ourselves (rather than an organiser) so met a lot of locals to arrange things like flowers, cake and so on. Speaking to them, they have the exact same option as you (and I) on Kavos. And are pretty embarrassed by it.

Dan_Smart

You are better going to Lloret de mar :) only a little bit more ... has good nightlife but good for families too can get an all inclusive for £200ish

dudwood_fudwood

Oh, the island is beautiful. But Kavos is a sh!t hole at best! I remember the travel agent selling it like Ibiza; party town, lively with great bars and clubs. Each bar was focused on selling cheap booze as fast as possible which meant people were spewing in the street. Second day we were there we got ill through one of the bars using methylated spirits as vodka (we were later told that this was common practice and to stick to bottles or draught). None of the clubs knew what EDM was and played pop music like Steps, Robbie Williams etc. The street smelled like an open sewer and my GF at the time was assaulted by a bar man who then got all shirty when I punched his stupid nose for being a perv. The best bit of the holiday was coming home. Never again.

Yeah I have used them before, it was in Amsterdam. Few days after booking I emailed hotel direct to check they had received my booking (but I always do whether booking with Expedia, Ebookers etc). Over half the price of anywhere else too.

raklos

Just want to point out, I used amoma when I booked my last holiday, and having never heard of them I was unsure about booking through them. Googling them you come across lots of negative reviews. Thankfully, i had no issues, so would happily use again.

rachelandgromit

Accommodation reviews here but to put it into context you're paying less than £12 a night for two people. Generally the reviews look fine. I did look at accommodation a little more expensive but overall had worse reviews so on balance I think this is a good choice as a base.

katya1971

Are these apartments any good for young children?

Sophiasky

Up until last year, we had always flown with Ryanair due to the cheap fares. Last year, on booking flights, I decided to look at Easy Jet, and at the time Easy Jet flights were cheaper, so I booked with them. I was really relieved that I had, after what happened last Summer with a lot of the Ryanair flights (delayed/cancelled, etc). I don't think that I would have the confidence to book with Ryanair anymore, in case the same thing happens this year. However, saying that, Easter is early, so hopefully there will be no issues if booking later in April/May.
