Sorry but not a deal..the m-fix sl has been £99 all year in various shops.
All Cybex Discounts, Offers and Sale - April 2018
We opted for these over the newer models as we need to fit 3 across - can do that easily in our SMax with these.
That's the X, not X-Fix. Latter has isofix.
This is cheaper on precious little things. It's only £69.99 All colours Available.
Good spot - you should post your own deal.
As far as I'm aware the only difference between the X and X2 is the side protection - 2 polystryene filled 'cups' clipped to the side. Pushes the width from 45cm to 54cm. We use the seat without them so we can fit 3 in a row. According to Cybex the X-Fix reviewed well - LINK
If your on Facebook take a look at a-z of rear facing, it will give you loads of information on rear facing. I have a five year old that rear faces that was forward facing until 3 and a half.
Possibly not achievable if you don't have a large car.
Perfectly achievable if they're within the weight/height limits of the seat.
Spend £200 on a rear facing seat then - your child is much more likely to survive a crash then.
Plus version: the Plus version gets its characteristic appearance through an exclusive, very hard-wearing fabric with a twill effect in a denim look. These child car seats are available in 7 different colours http://store.cybex-online.com/itm/products/cybex-car-seats/from-approx-3-up-to-12-years/solution-q3-fix/solution-q3-fix.html
Where did you get ‘plus’ from? Doesn’t mention plus on their website or Cybex website.
Gutted I missed out on the solution m fix
The ones I’ve seen comes with a hood and liner for £349.99
Check if you need the complete colour pack though as you might be able to save some money. My colour pack came with coloured hood, a seat liner, a car seat head hugger, an apron and a carry bag. you can just purchase the hood and liner if that's all you need which might work out cheaper.o
Nice looking, good handling travel system. However, our original Oyster chassis literally fell to bits. Had the handle section replaced only for the unlocking mechanism to fail again. Suspension has failed, so bumping down kerbs causes the wheels to jam and baby to lurch forward. Front wheel snapped off on one occasion as well. The buggy board is good though. Hopefully they addressed these issues with the Oyster 2.
The buggy in other colours is available for £349 from the same site. Anyone know of any coupon codes?
That looks like just a blinged up version of the Mothercare one that’s £299 with car seat: https://www.mothercare.com/prams-and-pushchairs/mothercare-4-wheel-journey-black-travel-system---teal/966205.html?CAGPSPN=pla&utm_category=Google%20-%20Pushchairs%20Only&gclid=CjwKCAiA-9rTBRBNEiwAt0Znw-Ni85dGGipK-5yRhMMlYCU0zRR7by6ruSXv_hMu79uvMppx0GFshhoC81wQAvD_BwE&CATCI=pla-365849267467&cm_mmc=Google-_-Pushchairs%20Only-_-MC-UK-G-Shopping-Pushchairs%20Only-Mothercare%2F%2F-_-%20-%20&utm_medium=CPC&CAAGID=48664497084&utm_source=Google
Thanks for heads up....I managed to get John Lewis to price match it last night even though it was out if stock it didn't say that till you tried to checkout. Needed a 2nd one of these car seats for my 2nd child, my 1st child loves hers .
Shame out of stock now!
Now showing out of stock once added to your basket
Heat added. I was just about to post this.
I don’t think you will have a problem as you’ve purchased the item before that time. They can’t just stay something is now unsafe and expect everyone to spend hundreds of pounds for new seats. It’s been safe for years and all they want you to follow is EU legislation
Urm I just bought a britax group 123 front facing seat is that just 2x as bad?
Interesting about it being safer. I have just bought a Recaro for my son, who is 11 months, 12 in a couple of weeks. My Daughter who is just 2 has a Recaro (same one I have bought my son. I always thought that rear facing ones could be safer, for the obvious reasons but the majority are front facing, for when they are older. Makes me want to get this model now really, I guess both are very good which is great, plus this one is a smaller form factor when going on holiday. :S
If you purchase before the law comes in then it’s not a problem
It's absolutely saltiness, because if you read my post, I clearly recommend the Cybex Sirona, which has a 5 point harness and I specifically mention that it's *rear facing*. I then go on to recommend the quality of the brand as a conversational point. I don't need you trying to lecture me on the value of a rear facing car seat when I've already said that I have one :p The Sirona is £250, a lot of people won't have that for a car seat. To say this seat is a "death sentence" is unhelpful hyperbole, even though a rear facing seat is obviously preferable.
Yep i know i own one which i bought 3.5-4yrs ago for my son! Yes this is not a cheap car seat and has great safety reviews as a front facing carseat in group 1 its one of the safest but new research shows that it is safer to have this age/weight/size child rear facing as long as possible. I think views on this carseat will differ depending on the age of child you are buying for my son has this is 5yr 26kg and 130cm (big tall kid!) He has this carseat and will stay in it till he's too big. My baby 9m 10kg 80cm would be suitable for this car seat but today's research shows in a crash she will best fair being rear facing so i wouldn't buy this seat for her I've gone for a extended rear facing seat.
Don’t want to get in to arguments on this This is £260 in John Lewis and won awards for best in class
Can return under distant sell by regulations for a refund
Would anyone be interested in buying mine off me for £140. Tried the child in it in the living room and he hates it. Still brand new in box etc. Based in Scunthorpe
That's what the end of my comment says just purchased a cozy merlin for my baby extended rear facing. They will no longer be able to produce them for that age range will take yrs to phase out find it crazy what people wont spend on safe carseat
Back in stock but now £190
Currently out of stock
We have this, really like it. Very comfortable. Quite heavy so not the easiest to move between cars
Bought it. Thanks op! Shame there was only the one colour option at this price but thats a minor niggle. Mothercare still want £190 for the same thing.
Nope different model
I’ve only ever been in two collisions (touch wood!), both times it was the driver (not me!) pulling out of a junction to turn right and not seeing an oncoming vehicle, due to parked cars blocking the view. So both times the oncoming vehicle ploughed into the side of our car. I believe side impact collisions make up about 25% of all road traffic collisions in the uk.
Yeah yeah yeah. Side impact tests are done for one reason, and one reason only. To sell more Styrofoam in the great USA. T-bone accidents are common there because they have virtually no roundabouts. In countries with roundabouts these tests serve only to prey on fears and increase sales. So which county in the world has the most roundabouts per mile of road? I'll let you Google that.
I don't expect much agreement round here, but I'm of the opinion that the multi billion dollar child car seat industry is one big con, selling thinly covered Styrofoam at exorbitant prices to gullible overly protective new parents. Bought a couple of these CYBEX seats for my little ones and they are fine as long as the kids don't go to sleep, which is any trip over 10 minutes, when they fall forward and appear to garrote themselves on the seat belt. Money down the drain IMHO but at least it calmed she who must be obeyed for a week or two. Cheap in that respect.
Search for the child seat recalls that have been issued over the past few years and you will see that they are all for the generic ‘cheap and nasty’ seats which are made in China and just given different covers and badges according to who will be selling them (Team Tex, Nania, Mothercare and Halfords own brands, Kiddicare own brand). Yes all child seats on sale in Europe have to past the testing relevant to R44/04 or the newer R129 regulations, but the tests are very basic and carried out at fairly low speeds. These cheap seats really are very poor, having one is better than having no child seat at all, but only just! These types of seats were the ones used for the Watchdog investigation a couple of years ago, all of the shops fitted them in the car incorrectly and they didn’t fare well in the Watchdog crash tests (the headrest flew off one seat). By buying ‘branded’ such as Britax, Maxi Cosi, Joie, Axkid, Besafe etc you know that you are getting a seat that the manufacturer has designed and developed to withstand much greater impacts than the European regulations test at. Much has been made of the fact that the new R129 (also known as I-Size) regulation includes a side impact test (the old R44/04 regulation doesn’t), but Britax and all the other big brands have been side-impact testing their seats at the same speeds in-house for many years. You only have to look at the seats and lift them up to see what the extra money spent on a branded seat gets you. Child seats really aren’t an area you can go cheap on. Buy a second hand pram, clothes, toys, anything, but it’s really best to save up and buy a decent car seat. All those other things aren’t going to save your child’s life one day, a decent car seat just might.
Well when I was a kid we didnt have car seats and cars were not as safe. Not really sure what difference an expensive car seat will make over a decent cheaper one.
did you use any code for 20% discount ? Not showing 20 % when added to the basket.
Looks a possibility... Up to 800 jobs may go as Toys R Us looks to close third of UK stores https://www.theguardian.com/business/2017/dec/01/800-jobs-may-go-as-toys-r-us-to-close-third-of-uk-stores?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard
All these toys r us deals are a tad worrying. Might they go bust?
Try tomorrow when some of the click and collect ones are restocked ;)
No I don't think it will recline, very few of this style do and of the ones that do its usually only suitable to use in recline mode to 18kg
Under fours are safer rear facing as long as possible however yes you can legally use it for under fours / next year. The new regulations are based on height not weight. It's a great option if your child is under 18kg but not mature enough to be trusted to stay in a booster seat the seat as the impact shield across the front holds them in. We had a similar one when he got too big for the group 1 seat at around age 3.
The offer has expired. This product is not available
Managed to grab 3x this morning, cheers. 5% Quidco too.
So who got one and what's the camera like?
Please check the dates - top email was sent on 2.12.2017.
Just a heads up, got 3 (gearbest) of these for kids xmas. I've tested 2 so far and both had a terrible lock up reboot issue. Read around, and the fix is to update google play services; after doing that the 2 I've tested run great now.
Press them on it, I've had a few things and they reimburse you after you pay it (as most of these companies do). The ridiculous prices aren't helped by an £8!! fee the PO charge you on top.
£36 duty :o how much did you buy it for?
Colour is too bright for me too, but what a great deal! Heat added
Also you can get a £10 gift card on £100 spend :) to far away from me but a great buy!
360finder, you are way too sensitive. You seem to be taking offence to people stating that rear facing car seats are safer than front facing seats. You seem hell bent for an argument. Yeah £100 might be a good price but it's still helpful for people to know, who might not, about the benefits of rear facing. As someone above said, you might think it's more practical or comfortable for a child to be in a forward facing seat, but it's when a collision occurs is when it matters. Anyway, feel free to take offence to this and start looking at previous deals I've posted... :|
"laurieleigh: Car safety has increased massively in the last couple of decades and research into the safety of occupants has obviously also advanced- proving that rf is safer, end of. laurieleigh: the fact that rear facing is safer than forward facing. It is easy to interpret both these statements from your previous post as negative toward this particular seat. If you agree that this is a good deal why not add that sentiment to your comment and save the hassle if this to and fro.
Please point out where I have slated this deal. I gave the deal heat as it's a great price for the seat. Good price or not, it doesn't negate the fact that rf is safer than ff. Sometimes rf is not always possible and this I think is the next best thing. 2 of my deals were for erf seats, a 3rd for a hbb and the 4th for a 123 seat that was a good deal for anyone on the hunt for that seat.
Sorry I interpreted the line "years ago cars didn't even have seatbelts" as comment on safety not the length of time rear facing seats have been available. You also to appear to have posted four carseat deals in the past four years only one of which was rear facing (not in the picture mind just stated in the post) so slightly hypocritical of you at best to slate someone else's deal on safety grounds if you have been aware of the advantages of the rear facing seats for so long yet post forward facing seats.
Please read MY comment - i was merely replying to your statement that erf have only been around for 2 years
Does anyone know how this compares the baby jogger city mini. I loved that pram with my first and at 3 month old with my second i'm already sick of the bulky iCandy I have.
I've always bought 3 wheels and I design baby products so understands the safety regs but ty for the concern :-)
Doh... Meant to say three! They're an accident looking for somewhere to happen as they fall over too easily like most three wheeled things, reliant robins, ATBs etc. Have seen a couple topple over negotiating drop kerbs but luckily the kids were alright. Get one with four wheels if you care more about your kids than fashion!
I am yet to see one with no wheels, what am I missing?
I purchased this a few months ago for £250 which was the best price at the time. Fantastic buggy and great price!
Thanks for posting this. I just bought 2x Recaro Young Sport Hero Child Car Seat - Performance Black for £216 (and 3% quidco on top). The seats are £135 in Halfords before discount compared to £180 elsewhere.
It does on the left choose "baby seats" to get rear facing as it incudes the toddler seats and then choose isofix
Thank you OP. Got the Cosatto Isofix for £79.99. Great price.
We're is this discount code advertised to?
thought i'd try just incase and it worked for me with maxi cosi rodi!! thanks!! £20 saving!
Good point. The Britax dualfix. also rear facing and swivels gp £319 in boots in purple http://m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?unCountry=uk&path=%2Fen%2FBritax-Romer-Dualfix-Group-0%2B%2F1-Car-Seat-Mineral-Purple_1776546%3F%3F%26cm_mmc%3Dbmm-_-google-_-PLAs-_-Boots%2520Shopping%2520-%2520Category%2520-%2520Baby%26gclid%3DCLnRtqCmgtECFeqc7QodgKAIjA& and in red in pramworld also for £319 http://www.pramworld.co.uk/britax-romer-dualfix-free-accessory-pack-flame-red?gclid=COHX2fWmgtECFUy77QodYTACkw#fo_c=743&fo_k=16a8465008e99ff3bb789d7c83117751&fo_s=gplauk
excellent price but for any child above 50th centile you're unlikely to get to 4 years in it as it has one of the shortest shells on the market so have a look around at other options.
This is the 360 degree rotating seat version that has an impact shield when forward facing. grab it while you can. I presume it is being discontinued with the new Isize model coming out. The new one has a base and the seat but does not rotate.
Hope you stopped at the services for a break as babies shouldn't be in a car seat longer than two hours :)
Brilliant seat. We have it. Just travelled 3 hours on motorway from visiting in laws down south and our 8 month old slept the whole journey.
Just got mine today, was a Q3-Fix too, and instead of Royal Blue i got the swankier Midnight Blue one. 8)
My autumn orange and white one arrived by courier this morning despite not getting a despatch email. Turns out it's a Q3 rather than a Q2 as well :)
I just received a dispatch e-mail :) hopefully it doesn't come tomorrow! I have it sent to a work address :( so typical. Thank you for posting OP and good luck everyone else xx
Just an update, checked my account, shows my carseat as dispatched. Hope everyone else is the same :)
Yeah, does state though "Please allow 7-14 working days for delivery." Still a good price at £164.99. Though i do prefer the £139.99 i paid ;)
