Absolutely right, this weighs more than my adult bike! Yes its cheap but so it should be, overpriced junk. Get something decent second hand ... always loads of good cheap kids bikes around as they only last a year or two (and loads of kids are little fatties that never go outside anyway so are hardly used). Avoid these junk or your kids will definitely be the one of the fatties watching Paw Patrol.

10 kg bike for toddlers? It's a no no. Way to discourage them to cycle.

Yep stock seems to be dwindling - last week there were 2 sizes within 5 miles to me in 2 locations rechecking now I would have to travel alot further - not surprised it isn't lasting long though

I know it's sacrilege but I wouldn't buy a skinny tyred road bike for commuting ( and I've been riding them for 40 years). If you really busy go dropped bar/ sti then look at gravel or cyclo-cross, definately 32 mm tyres minimum. But for comfort and vision I'd get a hybrid, preferably hub geared. Virus dee is 7 geared Shimano at £350 from wiggle, but small size only.

These 'gooutdoors' deals are only available from one remote store like edinburgh or taunton, none within 100's of miles of me. No postage. So no good to most people.

The first bike has 'Superlight Y-9' aluminium but no such aluminium exists so that is just a made up commercial name, the second bike states 7005 and most of the main high quality, high volume frame manufacturers have abandoned that material (Giant, Merida and fuji-ta) so that frame is more likely from Cambodia or Bangladesh and wouldn't surprise me if the Superlight Y-9 frame is also actually 7005. They look great bikes but the frames are probably quite basic. While 7005 is stronger than 6061 it is more brittle and more prone to fatigue so often the frames are designed not to flex so can be quite harsh riding but power delivery is great. You can see on the frames the top tube lines up directly with the top of the seat stays on both bikes this is typical of 7005 to prevent fatigue and flexing where as 6061 have more scope to move the seat stays slightly below in order to improve ride quality. They both look great bikes but the frames are nothing amazing but given the specification and the fact the cyclocross bike will have larger tyre clearance to compensate for a harsh ride at the rear I would definitely go with the cyclocross bike of the two but it really depends on if that is what you want as a road bike and cyclocross bike are 2 different types of bike with different geometry and different advantages and disadvantages. If I was buying the road bike I'd definitely want it to take at least 700x28mm tyres in case I found the 700x25mm tyres too harsh combined with the 7005 frame. The cyclocross bike is far better value based on its groupset etc and has a triple butted frame. Really though your choice of bike is down to how and where you are going to ride it, how old you are, how heavy you are etc. All factors that could change bike recommendations.

TAG HEUER Carrera Chronograph, £2,450.00 @ Goldsmiths
Found 18th MarFound 18th Mar
Good price for a decent chrono, albeit not everyones favourite brand.

Agreed. I’m currently looking for a tag but looking used and won’t go more than £500. Recently bought an oris and the quality is outstanding, plus not everyone has one so a bit different. For this money I would be looking at a Tudor. Better quality/heritage and customer services

I bought one of these a few years ago. It still looks like new even though I wear it almost every day.

Dial pins snap easily and on my watch there were only two, so the face starts to slide about. Tag Heuer support were awful, they did not fix it on first attempt and then accused me of breaking it again! must be better brands out there.

Did you check out the Zenith El Primero line? Sounds like it would have suited you and can be found within budget. Personally I just don't think Tag is a brand worth paying out in the thousands, but it is a matter of opinion.

Why does weight matter its 170mm fork??

That is reasonably heavy but not tooo heavy. For example... I have a 13.1kg bike with lesser components. Full suspension in large size. So yes it's 1.5kg overweight but most likley that's due to the tyres from maxxis are realllly heavy. So that's a few hundred grams right there compared to say Schwalbe racing Ralph tyres that I have. In general though.. Your not going to be finding these quality bits' n bobs on a bike for 2500. This is a top deal. Only xs size. So for kids basically. Grrrrr

Only available in XS and also seems very heavy for carbon fibre. The Calibre bossnut evo is the same weight at about 14.3kg. Carbon being more brittle and more likely to be damaged off road and with no actual weight advantage I'm not sure if this bike is competitive in spec. I could only find 2 reviews and they were for the older 2016 version and seemed to be criticised for being heavy with poor geometry, the geometry seems to have been tweaked/improved for 2017 but the weight criticism seems to still apply. This may have been left on the shelf because it's not actually that great a bike and things have moved on but I can see does have some nice components though. Maybe the long fork travel but extra small frame is not actually a good combination hence the larger frames are sold out but not this one? A small rider might not benefit from such long fork travel and also the extra weight could be a disadvantage to a small rider.

Same chain set and brakes not also 105.... otherwise seems a reasonable price

You're more than likely right with that description of @DearSatan. From the kinda North Yorkshire ponce I've experienced that sounds spot on, but hey, who are we to throw around wild assumptions about your average resident or cyclist. Hope @DearSatan enjoys the Tour De Yorkshire in May (y)

Old 105 groupset and awful FSA chainset (the MegaExo BB is the main problem). It's OK but nowt special.

Dont forget we dont pay road tax and we all go through red lights. And thats a decent spec for the price, full 105 (normally they will save with cheaper brakes) with a carbon frame. Not being robbed here

You're more likely to come across an uninsured motorist than an uninsured cyclist and over 80% of cyclists have driving licences. Not sure where you're getting your definition of 'ignorant' from but I'd suggest looking in a mirror for a picture if you can't do words.

Not sure Halfords have got the description right. "Max load: 18kg (child 9kg, plus 9kg of luggage)" ...The child has to be over 12 months old but under 9kg? I'd expect it's designed for a child up to 18kg, otherwise it won't be useful for long if atall

I totally agree, I wouldn't take my kids near any traffic in one of these, BUT i think theyre a great idea for riding away from the road. What kid wouldn't love a ride in one?

I’ve found it excellent personally.

Hi @Besford . I had posted this 'deal' more to receive some opinions, ideas from the community, like yours. I didn't post it really as a deal. I only wanted something for some rides in the park, not on the roads or something similar wich includes traffic... Your comment is much appreciated and I did take a step back from purchasing this product only by reading your comment. I don't care about the votes...I value opinions, recommendations like yours and it's all that count in the end. So thank you!

Who says? I got it when purchased this yesterday. Don't forget topcashback too. I read somewhere that 820 is more capable around routes planning than 520. Unlike 520, it can also have additional maps added... At this price - it seemed more of worth than 520. Also that - it features colour maps - that I would prefer more than Wahoo. So the choice.

It is this app. Looks like it's no longer available on Google store for new users, However I still have it in my library and can install. Strange... Found this download from, no idea if it's safe:

That link doesn't work. Is there an archived download somewhere?

Not on sale items though

I have The 520plus and its a much better bit of kit than the 820 which any Bit of rain or sweat causes the screen to change and is hard to use in spring and autumn when using fingered gloves. The mapping is really glitchy too compares to my 520 plus. A friend of mine has a Wahoo bolt and thats been an excellent bit of kit too. I just stuck with garmin as my watch is garmin too so it all runs through garmin connect/training peaks.

Would have thought there's a huge amount of used 26" mountain bikes out there for sale... 26" has been the predominant size for MTB's going back 30+ years. Thanks for the advice, I got the CrossFire 2 at the weekend, having ridden it, I like it (not ridden a bike in about 30 years!!!), the seating position is comfortable for me as I get a sore back, so it is more upright than allot of the bikes I tried. I did look at the Subway, but they did not have my size available locally. I will be riding mainly at the weekends rather than something like a daily commute, mainly with my young son on country paths, paks & trails, so I am happy with the Crossfire 2,

There is the Subway 1 as well which is £240 after the discount. That's a much stronger and efficient bike than the Crossfire 2. The Crossfire 2 doesn't really do anything better than the Subway 1 because it's a 700c wheeled bike and lighter frame which should be faster than the Subway but they have fitted it with a low end front suspension fork so the weight advantage and riding efficiency benefit has been lost. Also those forks often don't last too long, if you ride the bike a lot the seals could perish in 2-3 years unless you regularly service them. The Subway 1 has rigid forks with a strong freehub based drivetrain so is a low maintenance bike. Crossfire is also freehub based and both share mechanical disc brakes. If you do have problems with the forks or realise they aren't really doing anything for you I would replace them down the line with rigid 700c forks. The bike will be lighter and more efficient.

It was a play on the word carrera hence the insurance is expensive... (embarrassed)

Stolen lol , who cares,, we win lol

Well to be fair the deal is about a bike. Would you prefer the comments to be about a bus?
