Or you can come help (y)

There's like a million videos on youtube telling you how to hide the wires properly, it's like a 10 minute job.

Literally, sh!TT!Ng bricks!

Ta, no it's just a camera with time stamp. So you can't prove what speed I was or wasn't doing, which because of the flaming taxi was exactly 0mph.

Where it gives you the speed that is being driven at that time. I think its done via GPS. Like this 👇🏻

Agree, have v1 back and front, also Viofo don’t just forget about their products, always improving and releasing new firmware

I've had this a year. Thankfully haven't needed it. Had a couple of near misses which I looked back on to see if I was the knob or them. Also footage of birds hitting my windscreen. Good quality would reccomend.

Let us know what you go for. I've got a Rexing v1 at the front and would also like to switch to a good dual camera system. Currently missing too much potentially quality footage with limited front view.

Honestly comes to to preference and what you’re looking for. Seen some less known brands that are highly rated for the screen/recording quality but known brands who are good all rounders. I’m thinking of trying out a dual camera next from a brand outside of the usual big names. I would take a look around as many places as you can, get a feel for prices/specs and see what stands out for you without having to compromise on other specs (y) 🏽

Hmm, what is the best these days? Nearly went for a Viofo a few months back

Looking for a recommendation - twice in last 5 years my car has been hit while parked up at night (joys of living on main road!), most recent one was a crash at the rear. Are there in good cameras that read number plates at night that cover both the front and back that react to an impact?

Thanks for clarifying... I guess there may still be someone, somewhere who doesn't know that :p

Tell that to Amazon

720p isn’t full HD. 1080p is 😜

Good price but poor camera in the dark.

NEXTBASE 422GW Quad HD Dash Cam with Amazon Alexa & NBDVRS2RWC Quad HD Rear View Dash Cam Bundle - £154.00 @ Currys
Posted 3rd JunPosted 3rd Jun
this is a bundle offer, with the rear cam too

It only has Junsun HD Camera wrote on it, it has a front and rear camera. It records in 1296P according to the settings.

Out of interest, what model is your Chinese cam? :)

Not put mine in yet I got the 522GW model with half price rear camera but when I checked out I got both for £139 from amazon my son as the same model & he says it’s spot on

I have the earlier version of this and I hope that the nighttime recording is better on this model as I am not happy with mine. The extra bells and whistles of GPS, Speed and tracking of where you have been when using the windows app to view dash cam footage are great but my cheap chinese dash cam had better night time recording. I also had to wire mine to a permanent live as the battery on them is not meant to last long and I wanted mine to be able to record when the car was bumped etc when static.

that is even better, just went in for their price promise so got the difference back ,thanks

I bought two of these when they were on deal last week and we are extremely happy with them, very easy to navigate, good quality video and a absolute doddle to fit with no wires on show whatsoever (on my car,my wife's car has a small amount of wire showing going into her cigarette lighter which could be hidden if i could actually be bothered to remove her car's centre panel),i agree with someone above that the parking sensors are slightly sensitive even on the low setting but it's in no way a deal breaker,Also due to the constant recordings a high endurance micro sd card is recommended to increase longevity.I would highly recommend this dash cam and even at the price it currently is it's still a extremely good camera for the money.

Joe public appear to rate the Yi as better than the G1W, with over 6 times the number of reviews.

Th3.Ripper: Does this work off battery only? I don't want one wired in and would happily plug in to charge Why wouldn't u want to wire it in? Much easier and no cables running around making a mess. Battery would only last 5 to 10mins at most on it's own.

Hahahahahahahaha, I hear that, I hear that veryyyyy loud and clear. (y) 'History'/'Science' is kinda where the majority of us are at these Day's anyway ... Eg. How did I get here?, Where am I from?, Is the World flat or round?, Why is the sky blue?, Why is the sea green?, How long is the great wall of China?, What are the seven wonders of the World?, When did Acient Egypt fall, when did the Persian Empire fall? (and so on, and so forth?). And somewhere along all that longggggg 'History', is Brutus too, as well as the language of luvvvvvvvvvvv, hehehehe. So we're both in good company, lol.

Hahah lol ... Not a problem. You are not the first one to say that. Always, cheers me up. (y) It has a long history date back to 90s...lol (lol)

Hehehehehehe, and likewise @Brutes ... Or should I rather say "Et tu, Brute?" (Latin for "And you, Brutus"). (flirt) I've ALWAYS wanted the appropriate/opportune time to lay that one on you! (since first clapping by beady eyes upon that unique of usernames, etc, a while back :p ) I've clearly 'sorted it' now though, huh?, lol (a dream come true, and all that? - sad, I know, hehehe). 8) Take care. :{

Shady as hell, I bought 2 for our cars at the advertised price £20.99, only just noticed they charged me the full £130 (mad) Tried to cancel whist in transit but if they turn up they're going back, not happy. If it was miss-priced at least have the decency to contact me if I still want them, not charge me the full whack.

That depends on your cars cigarettes lighters sockets not the camera. Some cars is always live some it's only when key turned. You can check by trying something you already got like a charger

I think this is the one that's £15 in Tesco. I know it's atrocious for that price but might be interesting as a side cam

First cold I’ve had where it’s been a decent review and useful feedback! :) . Thanks man

I bought one of these generic dash cams, poor build, the buttons stopped working after a few weeks, even though they hadn't been used much. It could be that some work fine, but mine definitely didn't. Cold from me, sorry.

Garmin Dash Cam 55 1440p GPS Small and discreet Dash Cam £94.99 Amazon
Posted 17th MayPosted 17th May
Garmin Dash Cam 55 1440p GPS Camera with Voice Control, Black/Brown May not be for everyone but as a dash cam that has won loads of awards this is the cheapest it has been

New models 46, 56 and 66 support 256gb

I think its ridiculous that the current generation of Garmin Dash Cams only support 64Gb microSD card. My Garmin 35 supports 64Gb. It's woefully inadequate. If you get a ticket in the post for speeding or a red light it's usually 2 weeks after the offence. My dash cam stores around 10 days as the files get overwritten by new ones. I do not understand why Garmin impose this artificial limit.

I can't believe that manufacturers aren't just fitting them alongside the rest of the infotainment, reversing cams and the like.

Wish someone would come up with the 'perfect' dashcam:- 4K at 60FPS (or higher frame rate) 160 degree FOV On board GPS On board Wifi On Board USB C connector including connectivity to PC/Phone functionality Auto save function High Quality Day and Night recording without noise at night I think that's what's needed.....say £199.

I’ve been waiting a while for this price drop and luckily my amazon price alert flashed up this morning so I’ve ordered one. Hopefully it’ll work better than my previous dash cam and maybe next time some idiot drives into my vehicle I’ll have the evidence to prove they were in the wrong. Seems like dash cams are a must have nowadays - too many bad drivers on the roads (annoyed)

Original prices a bit steep but £15 for a dashcam on the high street isn't to be sniffed at.

Looks like a toy for kids... Why would anyone wanna put this in their car. (lol)

I agree, just bought another cam off Amazon and sent it back, now where near as good as G1W which I must have bought over 5 years ago!

+1 for yi

Most go for the Yi dashcam, it regularly appears on this site, can't comment as don't have one however my trusty G1W is still going... https://www.spytec.com/g1w-c-capacitor1080p-hd-car-dash-camera.html

That review has this camera at number 5 (lol) its utter dog (poo) Had this one, had 5 cameras now, sent two back. All rubbish, corrupted footage when i had a little bump too so it was unusable and unrecoverable with all the fancy dashcam recovery software... the best one I have now is a Kenwood one

Today (Sun 23/6/19) my local ALDI (Abergavenny) has these reduced to £39.99.

Cheap but you're better off spending a bit more for something reliable and with better quality such as a Blackvue.

Ok, brought my back as it seems to pick up every vibration what makes watching possible evidence quite difficult. Also it’s impossible to read number plates whilst driving but that could be the same with nearly every cam. However, I was under the impression that is one of the important points having a dashcam.

Got it today and it’s ok for the price, seems to work rock solid. Just have a look at some YouTube videos to make up your mind.

Id like to know this also as I was looking at this 212 model.

Cheap and cheerful dash cam there OP, nice!, thanx.

Cool link that, thanx.

Madness not to have one at these prices. If only for the 250 quid from Car Crash TV.

Thanks for posting OP! Just so everyone's aware, this is likely to be pretty pants but £15 is a steal. For that price I'm thinking about a temporary rear or side view camera. For those that want reliable footage, I would ward off putting this up front, where it matters although I appreciate I haven't tested this. If anyone purchases, please give us some test footage!

Great card

Yer I bought a 64gb Extreme pro and a 64gb Extreme standard both for my GoPro. Both get 2h 4m 4K recording . But I might grab this as well .

It will also last longer in terms of write cycles. The speed should have less fluctuations. This is their top of the range UHS-I card.

From a quick look it looks like the Pro has an extra 10MB/s read speed.

What the difference between this and the standard Extreme as all the specs written on the front of the card are the same ?

Free £79 forward facing PC 106 Dashcam When You Buy 2 or More Michelin Tyres @ KwikFit - also code for extra 10% off

Kwik Fit arenot the cheapest by some way, however with the 10% off code and the free dashcam, this works out pretty good.

I ordered 3 Michelin tyres when this promo was running they were reasonable priced at £2 per tyre more expensive than else were but with this free dashcam made it worth it BUT... over a month after putting in my claim for the dashcam still received nothing! Emailed them and got a response back saying the promotion was extremely popular please allow 28 days for delivery. It’s been well over 28 days!

They could give away free gold bars and I still wouldn’t use these con merchants.

I use to work for them and wouldn’t buy a dust cap from them. Thanks but no thanks.

Haven’t we all! I refuse to use them now.

Thanks this sounds good. I have been bitten by kwick fit before so never use them. However if you know your prices and it all seems ok then why not. Heat given.

Yes - the front camera is decent, but 720p and 20fps on the rear though. I know the rear is not quite so important, but if something does happen you still need to be able to read the numberplate. I bought a Viofo A129 dual camera setup recently and that gives me 1080p on front and back at 30fps (or 60fps without the rear camera attached). Also what is the quality of the sensor as the A129 uses one of the best quality Sony sensors that is out at the moment.

I wouldn't imagine this is going to give you readable number plates if that's a requirement. I would get 2 cheaper units over this if you need a front and rear camera.

Was just about to buy it on the second look 10 minutes later then it jumps to 65.99. Expired.

Bought, put on my car on Tuesday, working well so far. Disabled all the sounds, I really need to clean my windshield though, getting some tough glare from the muck. Has a slightly wider FoV than my old Senwow cam which broke, the frame rate is definitely 30FPS. Impressed with the smart packaging too.

Thanks for this, been meaning to get a Dashcam for a while and this seems like a good product at a reasonable price. Have a few Anker products, battery pack, usb charger that have worked great for years and still in daily use, so hopefully this will be good.

Yeah it was.
