Hi. Was a 2017 model a couple of months back - was £349 I think. Don't know if there are any still about (probably are) but a quick search of Google came up with this at JL: https://www.johnlewis.com/lg-43uk6400plf-led-hdr-4k-ultra-hd-smart-tv-43-with-freeview-play-freesat-hd-crescent-stand-metallic/p3531458?sku=237414228&s_kwcid=2dx92700024311620768&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83lGZF8K6lJQBGsQU569FKIx1rQ6NSaIt_OdXzgN2dD8ZPYm0_XfjHAaAm2tEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Or this LG for £329 from CPC http://cpc.farnell.com/lg/43uj630v/43-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-led-tv/dp/AV27221?mckv=sFc4S7O2v_dc|pcrid|224689185316|kword||match||plid||slid||product|AV27221|pgrid|48694575284|ptaid|pla-440750888861|&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-SHOPPING&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83kKo6Vg-NGLY36HOlNc698urzIpjdokQQwiJeheR1eG2ptyM5ZJUHQaAmrOEALw_wcB Richer sounds offer 6 year warranty too if they have anything similar but they seemed to clear their 2017 stuff sooner than most.

I bought the 4K Digihome 40in TV when it was last on sale through co-op electrical, and to be honest, for the price it's pretty good. But as far as I can tell, the TV is not HDR10 compliant as advertised.

Not bad for HDR10 Or nah bc it’s not

Saw this in an Amazon review: "Good tv and worth the price but the HDR is not HDR10 and no 4K-10bit. Supports 4k at 60Hz though. Connected to xbox and was disappointed to realise that most 4k and HDR features were not supported with this tv."

Any link please ?

I got one of similar when tesco selling off in tesco direct for £219!kids love the big Netflix button Decent tv for a small price

I got this in the Tesco Direct Clearance sale for £219, purchased it for new house which awaiting to move in. From the times which i have used it to test its functions it does everything i need it to. The pictures on the screen are great! The SMART TV apps worked great too, had iPlayer, ITV Hub & 4OD, Demand5 & Netflix already installed which is perfect.

Ours only 3 apps out of the 30’ish installed you can use is BBC , Netflix and YouTube. The rest are like Turktime , Turk news , Turk sport etc. We’ve had ours 2 years now ( got it from AO ) and still can’t work out how to get a web page to work. We bought the daughter a Blaupunkt from Sainsbury’s 49” smart same money and that’s brilliant. It’s not 4K but has 100’s of proper apps you can use and updates regular.

Well, they are made by Vestel in Turkey. Just like similar cheap models 'made' by Hitachi, (lower end) Panasonic, Bush, Alba, Logik, JVC. The only manufacturers around nowadays who actually do make their own TVs (from what I've read) are: Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic (more expensive models only - cheap ones are made by Vestel), and Hisense

Your better off richer sounds. I picked up a curved 55” smart HDR 4K s6 Samsung £400 delivered from their open box sale section reduced from £900. The extra £150 no comprise no comparison £150 better spent.

I'm pretty sure it's because a 40inch 4k panel is cheaper to make because if you think about it, the amount of pixels are spread over 40 inches, but a 24 inch monitor (for example) is the same amount of pixels, much within a much smaller area, making it more expensive to produce? A 4k 40inch TV has the same pixel density as a 20 inch 1080p monitor. So from the same distance, a 40inch 4k TV will look just as sharp as a 20inch 1080p monitor.

I bought the 24" one last time the 20% deal was on . Really impressed with it. Bought a 49" yesterday for the 2nd lounge.

tempted for my xbox one x, wanted a monitor but they are a lot more money

Is sd content ok on these.

Can you tell me the depth of this tv please. It states 220mm but that's surely wrong.

I have the 65" and it sometimes puts its self on to a mode that makes the picture look weird, can be fixed by going to Menu (you have to put it to tv to get into menu) Picture, advanced setting, Movie Sense- turn this On then Off, then the tv will look fine. I agree the Samsung would be a lot better, I didnt want to pay £1000+ for a 65" from a good make when I got mine for £550, every person who see my tv likes the look and sound, but if I could have got a Sony/ Samsung etc for about £30 more I would have. If you plan to use the Apps dont get the digi.

having compared them side to side the Samsung is vastly superior in both sound and picture quality, so if buying the Digihome makes you feel good with its much lower quality and only slightly lower price then more fool you. The smart interface on the Samsung is better and faster too. Is the Samsung a brilliant TV? No, but it is much better than the Digihome when there is so little in the price difference. Had the Digihome been £279 then it would be different.

The Samsung 6120 is at the entry level and is a worthy comparison. The bottom line is that you have to go along with your budget. People buying this or the Samsung as a replacement for a much older television will see an improvement .

Everything about the Samsung 6120 is cheap. The panel, the cheap stand, the thick ugly black surround and a basic 60hz panel. It’s funny that someone said that only the “uninformed” would buy this digihome when that’s exactly the case with anyone who buys a 6120. If buying this makes you feel good because it has Samsung on it then more fool you. Also the “council”comment is weak too. If people don’t have a lot of money to spend on a tv that’s fine, there’s no need to be a snob about it!

OOS? none of the links seem to work and i can't find it on the Tesco Direct website either

There's a 279 at Sky Accessories for a 43 Inch LG for anyone interested in branding a little more.

According to the specs, the 50" has better contrast ratio, one less USB and no optical. So is better for size and contrast but worse for connectivity. Note as well that both say no scart socket in specs but the 50" says there is a scart socket in the description.

How is this different than the 49inch one? It costs £20 more. Is that purely for the extra inch?

The Panachronic may have been one of the Vestel-manufactured models - same as this Digihome. TBH there is a 14day return window with the Digihome so if it doesn't meet your expectations there is only a £35 return fee to be deducted from the refund.

I want a 43" TV like this for our small living room. Yes, we might not get much from the 4K but I think we'll deffo see an improvement from HDR. We have a 4 year old 43" Panasonic. If we're watching anything where the scene is dark, it's almost impossible to make out what exactly we're supposed to be looking at! Game of Thrones had a lot of 'dark' bits in it and even with all the curtains closed, they were problematic to watch. PS - if anyone has this TV, does the base allow the screen to swivel???

Unlikely to notice resolution benefit of 4k on a 43" screen in typical domestic domestic TV applications unless you normally sit so close to the TV that you kneecap yourself on its stand. OK for monitor applications. Great price for the spec. No idea about quality.

Those Amazon reviews should be taken with lorry load of salt. It's an alright price for a smart TV, but it's not full HD and if you're going to be staring at it for the next few years, it's not going to be the most satisfying of experiences.

Experience of cheap brand TVs like this is that the '4K' is not to be taken literally. It'll be perhaps a shade better than 720p (HD Ready) compared to a branded TV.

Great TV for the price. Hot!

Terrible TV

This is just another noname brand from the manufacturer Vestel. Vestel produce a lot of very cheap TVs and market them under literally dozens of names to make it appear that there are a lot of competing suppliers. They are just the same TV with very slight variations between them. It makes no difference which of their TVs you purchase there really wont be much difference between them. Some people will be attracted to a name they haven't heard of rather buying from brands like Bush or Alba. Some might associate the names with old British brands of the same name and feel nostalgic or nationalistic. Don't be fooled they are produced in countries like Slovenia or Turkey are just a rubbish as each other. You may be lucky and get one that works well for a long time, or as is most likely you will get it and barely lasts the minimum warranty period they are designed for. To get a better quality TV you have to pay more - sometimes not much more. In the old days TVs used to last for ever - it was a reliable product. Now it is a disposable item.

Thickness on these ones aren't actually too bad but your right, there's more than enough room for better speakers...but I suppose they are able to keep the price down with cheaper/generic components, less HDMI ports etc.

You'd think given the thickness of these Vestels (they're usually about as thick as a circa 2006 Plasma TV) they could fit better/bigger speakers.

We have this - amazing picture quality but the sound is quite quiet in a large room. Worth the money though and nothing a cheap sound bar can't sort.

We bought the lad a digihome 32 inch for his birthday - picture is good but sound is okay/poor , you could add a sound bar if for a large room but okay for a bedroom.

Huh?? What makes no sense? What you are saying is true about smaller TV's, but I don't see any relevance or contradiction in that statement to my comment. I didn't say HD Ready on a 65" would look OK but nasty on a 32", which would like you say, make no sense. All I said was it would look poor on a 32". I'm basing that on having owned a (and seen other) HD Ready 28", which looked really poor compared to it's replacement, which was a 37" Full HD. From that, logically, to me at the very least, a 32" HD Ready will look worse than poor, hence "nasty". You haven't actually said that you think a 32" HD Ready TV will look good or not, so I'm not sure that you're even disagreeing with me. Are you?

That makes no sense. The smaller the tv the less you need full HD. HD ready on a 65" tv would be nasty

It is food only, nice try though (cheeky)

do students get ten percent off or is it just food

It's £40 more... Or £39 if you need to pay for coop membership. But I do agree, rather than HD ready, should consider spending a bit more to get full HD

For the price you paid, in general what's your opinion of Digihome sets?

Bought the equivalent 4K model last year that had more HDMI port, more USB ports and HDMI 2 across the board and was cheaper, so for a 1080P TV it doesn't really scream buy me at this price.

Tesco had the 49" 4k for £299 a few weeks ago but seem to have sold out online and not replacing.. bought one for a Christmas present and been hoping it will be half decent.

30£ contacted them via ebay messages

I raised a return via eBay and they responded the next morning to say pickup arranged and they would refund me once received (minus £10 for shipping). I queried why I had to pay shipping for their error and they replied to say it was not advertised as HDR so I have sent them a screenshot showing both references to it. How much discount did they offer you?

How did you contact them mate? Have tried eBay and emailing them. nothing yet

Can also confirm no HDR, Ive contacted them and been offered a partial refund instead of sending it back

Yeah, first thing i did after initial setup was connect to Wifi and download a software update which was the 2016 one. It's strange actually, the listing on the co-op electrical site, https://electrical.coop.co.uk/tv-audio/tvs/4k-uhd-tvs/digihome-40292uhdsfvpt2-black-40inch-4k-ultra-hd-led-tv-smart-wifi-dig-led-40292uhdsfvpt2-bk/ states that this model does not have HDR so have reached out to them on eBay for more info, and see if i'm missing something.

I take it you recommend it then? How is it with SD or HD content?

Hi, yes delivered a few days ago- actually now ordered another one (49”) for another room.

Does anyone have calibration settings for this TV? Boyf got his delivered today, seems happy with it, though he reckons the stand is a bit wibbly. Edit: Actually, he's been moaning that the remote/or the processor within the TV isn't that responsive, it's apparently quite slow when changing channels.

Did you get it yet? I'd also be interested in reading your opinion on it. I'd be upgrading from a 42" Panasonic plasma, and I don't watch 4k content yet but wanted a bigger TV. Would this be worth it?
