Nope Hisense make good TV sets and I guess now competing with Samsung and Sony

Is expensive good? Not always. My experience of previous digihome sets (HD, not had one of their 4K sets yet) has been that they do look great and last a long time, but sound flat.

Is cheap good though?

wow, its cheap!

there are good comparative with Hisense?

Can I know what you'd want to do with Google play on a smart TV?? Just curious

Anyone know how to get Google play onto these tv's ?

Just don't do it, don't be a cheapskate and buy this kind of nonsense, its such a false economy. All you're doing is cheating yourself.

Looks to be back now :)

OOS from what I can tell. Was a good price tho

Wow good price wonder how compares to the Philips ambilight set I ordered at 100 more for same size (minus the lights of course). Only for sons room, tempted to downgrade his present a bit :)

Wow not bad for a 4K panel, and it's probably an LG panel. Not sure if the PQ is comparable to an LG, Samsung or higher end Panny as they use their own imaging engines, BUT this is an amazing price for a 43 inch 4K panel and it's brand new with a 1y guarantee. Probably the cheapest 4K TV of this size in the UK today. Heated!

I bought a Digihome 4k 49" for £219, still one of the best deals I've ever got even though the screen nor the speakers aren't as good as my Sony I personally wouldn't buy this TV, pay more for a good non-vestel 4k TV

Yea, me personally I would prefer to spend alot more and have a really nice looking picture, Not everyone cares much about tv's, there's many still not interested in these newer great tv's, for these people this tv at this price is suited to them. Not everyone has the same taste in tech it seems.

Yes your right some people refuse to spend more even if they have the cash.

I am not disagreeing with you, but your very last statement, some people will not spend £100 extra just to have a brand/smart tv or be in "2018". Some want a plain old cheap full hd tv, I have 2 family members like this for example

This tv is a worse brand for starters (its not even smart) and watching SD content on both these tvs will be the same, its not like you going to be upscaling the SD content to 4K. I wouldnt buy either of these tvs , especially considering for a £100 more you can get a big brand Samsung in 4K and not be stuck in 2005 with your HD non smart TV.

NEW - Digihome 49 inch 4K HDR Freeview Smart TV - £304 @ EBay/CoopElectrical
Found 28th OctFound 28th Oct
Cheapest NEW 4K HDR TV around at the moment. Never owned a digihome television myself but seem to be well known. There are 267 in stock too!

Never buy anything Digihome. Bought a tv few years ago, used it few times and picture went kaput. Went back to be fixed..eventually after an email battle. When it came back went again after few weeks. They refused to fix. Never ever deal with these people.

I’ve got a friend who works there so gets an extra % off.

Well.. for £349 I got a Toshiba 4k HDR 10 Dolby Vision from AO's eBay store. Was skeptical for a few weeks but after getting a proper 4k watch on Netflix I was mighty impressed with the detail. Maybe look on the AO page. Mines is a 55" and works like a dream using optical to my Dolby sound bar.. everything is super and I'm a right fussy guy.. I couldn't compliment this Digihome nor put it down, I'd only suggest to try and get the 55" Toshiba because the Dolby Vision makes a difference big time.

It's not U3 though. Are you sure?

There are some refurb Toshiba and Digihome models without HDR on EBay, just type in '4k tv 49 inch' and select low to high :)

Thanks! Had no intention to buy this brand initially but gave second thoughts as it was for a spare room, so needed something cheap. However, cheap and working, rather pay 20-30 extra and get a different brand.

That is really helpful. I was wondering about this brand. Thanks.

I recently returned 49" Digihome and would never recommend their TVs ever again. Colours are washed, white is substituted with pale green, black is bright grey, it has problems with WiFi connectivity, volume sometimes vanishes ( I could watch a video on Netflix fine and then connect my laptop or USB to screen a movie and the sound was barely audible on 100% volume), TV sometimes does not turn on when pressed the button on the remote (and there's no physical on/off button on the TV so you need to disconnect it from power supply), and sometimes when you want to watch YouTube, you need to turn on Netflix first because it does not always like to put YouTube straight away? All in all, I strongly advise against buying their TVs, but at least they are cheap.

Digihome 49" HD LED with Freeview HD TV £180 @ Jack's (Tesco)
LocalLocalFound 19th SepFound 19th Sep
I know you can only buy this at two stores at present but it must be the cheapest 49" television out there

Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a group of market stalls.[9] The Tesco name first appeared in 1924, after Cohen purchased a shipment of tea from T. E. Stockwell and combined those initials with the first two letters of his surname

The point they seem to have missed (ie conveniently overlooked) is that Aldi and Lidl are not just much cheaper: it's excellent quality too!

Good deal - easy to offer a cut price TV deal if you only have to have a handful of the TVs to sell through your two stores at the price! As for Jack's, you can tell that Tesco have put some thought behind their trial. Aldi and Lidl are foreign-owned, so making a big deal of "British" makes some sense as a USP for a Tesco-owned brand aiming at them. Different sizes planned, some local to a Tesco store to test if it just cannibalises their core brand. Still think Jack's won't take off - when you look at most of the example pricing and products the press fed out, Jack's was selling a lot of stuff already in Tesco stores at exactly the same price. So why would I visit Jack's rather than a Tesco Extra with a bigger range? And if Tesco were planning to remove the Jack's-priced "value" stuff from Tesco stores in the longer term, why would I switch to Jack's rather than, say, Morrison's etc.

Hi. Was a 2017 model a couple of months back - was £349 I think. Don't know if there are any still about (probably are) but a quick search of Google came up with this at JL: https://www.johnlewis.com/lg-43uk6400plf-led-hdr-4k-ultra-hd-smart-tv-43-with-freeview-play-freesat-hd-crescent-stand-metallic/p3531458?sku=237414228&s_kwcid=2dx92700024311620768&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83lGZF8K6lJQBGsQU569FKIx1rQ6NSaIt_OdXzgN2dD8ZPYm0_XfjHAaAm2tEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Or this LG for £329 from CPC http://cpc.farnell.com/lg/43uj630v/43-smart-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-led-tv/dp/AV27221?mckv=sFc4S7O2v_dc|pcrid|224689185316|kword||match||plid||slid||product|AV27221|pgrid|48694575284|ptaid|pla-440750888861|&CMP=KNC-GUK-CPC-SHOPPING&gclid=Cj0KCQjw77TbBRDtARIsAC4l83kKo6Vg-NGLY36HOlNc698urzIpjdokQQwiJeheR1eG2ptyM5ZJUHQaAmrOEALw_wcB Richer sounds offer 6 year warranty too if they have anything similar but they seemed to clear their 2017 stuff sooner than most.

I bought the 4K Digihome 40in TV when it was last on sale through co-op electrical, and to be honest, for the price it's pretty good. But as far as I can tell, the TV is not HDR10 compliant as advertised.

Not bad for HDR10 Or nah bc it’s not

Saw this in an Amazon review: "Good tv and worth the price but the HDR is not HDR10 and no 4K-10bit. Supports 4k at 60Hz though. Connected to xbox and was disappointed to realise that most 4k and HDR features were not supported with this tv."

I got one of similar when tesco selling off in tesco direct for £219!kids love the big Netflix button Decent tv for a small price

I got this in the Tesco Direct Clearance sale for £219, purchased it for new house which awaiting to move in. From the times which i have used it to test its functions it does everything i need it to. The pictures on the screen are great! The SMART TV apps worked great too, had iPlayer, ITV Hub & 4OD, Demand5 & Netflix already installed which is perfect.

Ours only 3 apps out of the 30’ish installed you can use is BBC , Netflix and YouTube. The rest are like Turktime , Turk news , Turk sport etc. We’ve had ours 2 years now ( got it from AO ) and still can’t work out how to get a web page to work. We bought the daughter a Blaupunkt from Sainsbury’s 49” smart same money and that’s brilliant. It’s not 4K but has 100’s of proper apps you can use and updates regular.

Well, they are made by Vestel in Turkey. Just like similar cheap models 'made' by Hitachi, (lower end) Panasonic, Bush, Alba, Logik, JVC. The only manufacturers around nowadays who actually do make their own TVs (from what I've read) are: Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic (more expensive models only - cheap ones are made by Vestel), and Hisense

Your better off richer sounds. I picked up a curved 55” smart HDR 4K s6 Samsung £400 delivered from their open box sale section reduced from £900. The extra £150 no comprise no comparison £150 better spent.

ahhh Yes never thought of it like that thanks

I'm pretty sure it's because a 40inch 4k panel is cheaper to make because if you think about it, the amount of pixels are spread over 40 inches, but a 24 inch monitor (for example) is the same amount of pixels, much within a much smaller area, making it more expensive to produce? A 4k 40inch TV has the same pixel density as a 20 inch 1080p monitor. So from the same distance, a 40inch 4k TV will look just as sharp as a 20inch 1080p monitor.

I bought the 24" one last time the 20% deal was on . Really impressed with it. Bought a 49" yesterday for the 2nd lounge.

tempted for my xbox one x, wanted a monitor but they are a lot more money

I have the 65" and it sometimes puts its self on to a mode that makes the picture look weird, can be fixed by going to Menu (you have to put it to tv to get into menu) Picture, advanced setting, Movie Sense- turn this On then Off, then the tv will look fine. I agree the Samsung would be a lot better, I didnt want to pay £1000+ for a 65" from a good make when I got mine for £550, every person who see my tv likes the look and sound, but if I could have got a Sony/ Samsung etc for about £30 more I would have. If you plan to use the Apps dont get the digi.

having compared them side to side the Samsung is vastly superior in both sound and picture quality, so if buying the Digihome makes you feel good with its much lower quality and only slightly lower price then more fool you. The smart interface on the Samsung is better and faster too. Is the Samsung a brilliant TV? No, but it is much better than the Digihome when there is so little in the price difference. Had the Digihome been £279 then it would be different.

The Samsung 6120 is at the entry level and is a worthy comparison. The bottom line is that you have to go along with your budget. People buying this or the Samsung as a replacement for a much older television will see an improvement .

Everything about the Samsung 6120 is cheap. The panel, the cheap stand, the thick ugly black surround and a basic 60hz panel. It’s funny that someone said that only the “uninformed” would buy this digihome when that’s exactly the case with anyone who buys a 6120. If buying this makes you feel good because it has Samsung on it then more fool you. Also the “council”comment is weak too. If people don’t have a lot of money to spend on a tv that’s fine, there’s no need to be a snob about it!

OOS? none of the links seem to work and i can't find it on the Tesco Direct website either

There's a 279 at Sky Accessories for a 43 Inch LG for anyone interested in branding a little more.

According to the specs, the 50" has better contrast ratio, one less USB and no optical. So is better for size and contrast but worse for connectivity. Note as well that both say no scart socket in specs but the 50" says there is a scart socket in the description.

How is this different than the 49inch one? It costs £20 more. Is that purely for the extra inch?

Remote control is very similar to my JVC
