Odd how this isn't on the silentnight website... I suspect different shops have them customised as "exclusive" thus swerving price matching (devil) Attractive price though... maybe too cheap, not sure if we should spend more.
All Divan Discounts, Offers and Sale - July 2019
Could you please exclude nights from your life which means 19 now (lol) 😜
Unfortunately true (cheeky) - I was when I joined the site though.
Heat. Chanchi., You still can’t be 32. Time to change username?
My nephew actually hid in one of those keeping quiet. We was looking for him everywhere. We never even played hide and seek with him so we don't know how it came to this. He was 4 years old at the time.
Cruel reply but beautifully done. There's one thing that drives me bananas, is people saying 'math'. I don't know why, it just grates on me. Anyway, i won't vote on this as i don't know about these and i've got nothing of value to say. I would say that IKEA do some good beds. We bought a double bed mattress for our son, who's big, tall and heavy for about £190 and its a cracker. I would buy this one again (and our own mattress cost £1400). Just thought i would bung this is as a suggestion.
Cool will give it a go
No, If your email is firstname.lastname@example.org You can register email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com test.@gmail.com firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com firstname.lastname@example.org test.@googlemail.com All of these are the same email, Google does see the full stop. You can do this trick with any site. I have about 8 Amazon accounts all with the same email.
It takes more than 10 seconds to set up 22 email accounts though
Can you recommend something in N. Ireland? Brand, model?
Typical idiot that makes stuff up all the time. Boring.
So you work in a furniture bedding but you still bought a mattress from man in a van (lol)
We've had our mattresses about 15 years, they cost £400 each which was a lot at the time. Been worth EVERY penny. No dips, cant feel the springs or anything. It's just the material that is starting to thin a bit on certain parts, either by use or by cleaning. No biggy really as we have protectors and toppers on but would like to update the rooms a bit.
Great deal, thanks. For anyone unsure about buying a mattress from Argos check out EJ Life on Amazon.
No I’m the one that was bitching about the mattress Depth. I take it this was to be your big outlay of 2019, you thought you had won the Jackpot and finally made it in life and you’ve never owned a Superking bed before? 24cm mattress depth is slightly pitiful IMO, would be like sleeping on a Rizla. Muppet (lol) (lol) Stop Bullying me Tough Guy! (Walks away Giggling to himself)
Yeah, because I haven’t had many different accounts on this page. im guessing you’re one who was bitching about the headboard. Well done, muppet
This situation has just happened and you haven’t posted a deal in Years (excited) (excited) You’re here to take take take! .....Muppets! Lmfao! (excited) = Lemon
This situation has made me not want to post deals on here through fear some muppets will call up asking why it’s so cheap. This one one really passed me off. going to search the dark corners of the web to find a fantastic deal on headboards now.
This is the response that I got, think it’s disgusting how they can just cancel and order but no doubt hold you to the agreement should you try to cancel
Ordered this single with drawers for my lad. Thanks Op.
Don't waist your money I bought 2 of these ok at first but after six months totally useless had to replace the mattress .
People thinking the pleb op posting this helps peoplr but all it does is cost ebay advertisement costs since hduk takea a cut everytime someone clicks the link... so over time it actually pushes prices up... The op is using a cheese method just as uranus says... its dumb specially as hes on hukd scheme thing. Wont change a thing though it makes hukd money it stays :/
Who shat in your cornflakes pal?
Like others have this bed frame broke after 2 months.
Some people are busy, rather than lazy and it can sometimes be useful. I found it useful anyway. Thanks, OP.
Everytime I put in the code it says code expired (skeptical) (skeptical) (skeptical)
Good morning @millarcat Thank you for the mention in OP post. Please include another deal listed today. Many thanks :) https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/2-door-3-drawer-wardrobe-was-12999-now-10399-wcode-argos-free-cc-1-year-guarantee-3165971
Thanks for the post! +heat Just got https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5493784 Super King for £334.94 including delivery next week Just need to go and order some super king size bedding now! (fierce)
A no-turn mattress that doesn't have the excuse of having a memory foam top is a big red flag that this is a very low quality mattress, despite being pocket spring.
I bought one of these and let me tell you the build quality is so poor i snapped it up in less than a few minutes when disposing of it
Thanks just expired it
Looks like expired
Cheers thanks, I will have a look
Understand. We had same issue with space but the levena is probably one of the smaller frames. Stunning bed though as quality is superb and so comfy. Check the headboard on the divans as they sometimes can sit proud off the wall about 50-75mm due to the way they are fixed. Probably makes for similar lengths as a framed bed
Looks nice, I would of gone for a frame too but the space I have between two wardrobes is limited, just about fits a double and the frames are quite a bit larger! A pain
I highly rate Laura Ashley for mattresses, quality made and pocket sprung.
Thank you for the great response. Will look in to it.
You can try the bigger chains but they tend to stock either their own brand beds (usually terrible coil mattresses) , Silent Night (overpriced, mostly coil) or Hypnos (good brand, fairly expensive). Big Mattress companies have a habit of being owned by consortiums and investment banks, a big company with lots of advertising tends to indicate mass production and lots of money spent on promotion more than real quality. This also includes more recent hybrids like Eve, Simba etc. Unfortunately it makes getting good reviews next to impossible. Most Review sites are being paid by one of these companies to secretly promote them. My recommendation: try out local bed stores, look at the signs of quality mentioned in that link above by Ollie. Lookup the manufacturer to make sure it's a British maker and then go for what's comfortable. Most makers are also available online for a bit cheaper depending or not you want to buy from a store or not. Don't be pressured by sales, there are ALWAYS sales on at bed stores. I've a Shire Beds Healthisleep Duotemp which I'm pleased with. It was good value for a quality mattress, the "hotside and cold side" is a great feature. Only thing I would say is that it's advertised as a medium mattress but I'd call it a firm one.
Price on the double and mattress dropped further to £195, can get a refund under the 28 day price promise if ordered previously.
Which company do you recommend as we looking to buy as well and we have been to Dreams. Please recommend a store and tried and tested mattresses
Small for me but thats a very hot price! For a quality bed. HEAT
Never herd of them but many Thanks for further info, I’ll have a nosy
Any single beds available?
It is for a Hypnos bed, which has the Royal appointment. I first discovered Hypnos at the Days Inn on the M1, and was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept only surpassed by the Sofitel So beds, which are outrageously expensive to buy. Hypnos, along with some of the other higher end bed brands, are hand made using high quality, natural materials. Usually the beds higher up the range have a greater number of pocketed springs in the mattress for even greater levels of comfort and support. For me, its all about trying to get the highest quality bed I can afford with biggest markdown. Yes it's the divan and mattress, but the headboard is extra.
I love my Hypnos bed worth every penny
This one was. The bed I picked up was from the Handmade Bed Company by Millbrook. It was a Boutique 2000 King Size Divan with a matching Adelphi headboard. The sprung edge divan had no storage, but was very solid with no slats and is finished with some high quality upholstery and 1000 springs to complement the 2000 pocketed springs in the mattress. The bed was high end and the whole package (as you can see from the label) cost £3000, but as it was a showroom clearance item, it was marked down to £549!!! The bed was in immaculate condition, was repackaged for delivery 5 days after purchase to a high standard. I was fortunate that I was in the right place at the right time, but it's worth popping in regularly. Usually you'll find these deals hidden at the back. In this case, the clearance item was placed amongst the high end beds, so if you were on a small budget, you could have quite easily have missed this deal by not even bothering to look at this back area of the bedding department. The salesman admitted to me that this item was sold at a loss, but there comes a point where they need to clear the space. Having said that, the divan and headboard are in the current range and a quick Google search will confirm to you that the scale of the markdown is genuine and not one of those retailer's exaggerated discounts. The only downside is their 10 year warranty is reduced to 2 years, but as long as you've had a thorough check of the bed's condition, you really can't go wrong.
Are their bed pretty solid? Was looking for a ottoman but he slats look so crap on the cheap ebay beds.
Furniture Village in-store clearance at the back of the store. If you're lucky you can pick up a deal like this.
(lol) definitely a new mattress is the way to go in that case XD
The mattress sucks. It just does. She sits on it and she on the base of the bed if that makes sense? We are due to change it for a zero gravity mattress in the new year. She cant wait! (And lose weight? Shes not far off 6ft tall. Nowt to her! (lol) )
Yes but the £549 for the Millbrook bed included the headboard (normally £829) plus £1499 for the divan, so all in all a stunning bargain providing you don't mind it being the display model. Generally speaking though headboards are ridiculously overpriced for what they are and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for this.
Yes they do and installation is included. Although standard delivery is £29.00, this increases to £49.00 if there are additional items e.g. headboard etc. Also if you want your old bed taken away they quoted me £69.00 compared to £36.00 charged by my local council. The old bed has long gone past its use by date, so the likes of the Salvation Army etc.would not want it as it's ready for the tip.
Do they deliver all the way to the bedroom
Headboards are a bit pricey
It's worth popping into their stores from time to time, because if you get the timing right and don't mind a clearance display item, the markdowns on their high end stuff can be huge, as demonstrated by this example which even included the floor mounted headboard!
Thanks robj1. I am expecting it but the email had said they would cancel it within 2 weeks. Bit disappointing really.
Your order will be cancelled, they wait 6 weeks prior to cancelling.
Anyone else still waiting for a bed. Mine is still pending
Darton King size, they won't honour the price on another colour.
Which bed did you order out of interest?
Thanks for the review, on that note think i'll pass but great for a guest room!
Well, put the order in and the bed was received next day. Super speedy delivery. They save courier costs by delivering within the company, rather than using an external. I was meant to get a call the day before delivery, but it wasn't necessary in the end. The bed arrived slightly scuffed on one corner side, small damage in transit. I can live with it. Everything else ok. I put the bed together - no instructions included. I know it's not rocket science but some of the screw holes were not obvious. The divan bits are essentially wooden frames with covers - the suede has a nice feel to it. I had to add some washers to better secure the headboard screws. Overall, it's a decent guest bed, rather than a forever 'heirloom of my family' bed. I am using it for my daughter as she is small and light so I think it will be ok. I wouldn't use it as a trampoline though. The drawers won't be able to hold much weight as they are like cheaper Ikea drawers - so will need treating with respect. The drawers themselves are mainly constructed of staples. Staples are used a lot on this bed - in the drawers and the divan boxes. The mattress is fairly firm and comfortable.
Pretty amazing price but memory foam tends to feel pretty hot as they don't circulate air all. Also they tend to release chemicals.
You missed the point :p
Yes mine was a double, the brackets join the two base units together.
What are the base joining brackets? Didn't seem to be anything like that fitted on my bed. Just had a thought, was yours a double bed?
Don't know, it is for my 2 year old grandson to sleep on now and then. However, I did lie down on it and it felt very comfortable.
How comfortable was the bed in the end are people happy?
Similar to the previous post, the delivery guys did a sterling job for me, fitted the wheels and the base joining brackets. No complaints, first rate service from John Lewis.
Been making pocket springs for 17 years now and can't recommend them enough.
Spot on! Iv been selling mattresses for many years and this is very good advice (highfive)
NOOOO!! It’s opencoil. Don’t waste your money! These are good for 2 things, guess bed and kids bed. Always always go pocket Spring!
In the specs, there is a deal on headboards with the bed though
Where does it say not headboard included?
gone back to full price
looks good, but i find i have to lay on it too no, plus my base is small double
Can't decide whether or not to get this deal. Think I will sleep on it.
No comment on price as almost impossible to compare to anywhere else as the name is unique to Tesco however interesting comments on built in pillow top mattresses here so would probably stay clear myself: The main objection to pillow tops come into what you are expected to pay for them and the lifespan you will get out of them. Just like a one sided mattress, you will be unable to turn it so when the pillowtop layer becomes indented and worn, you will eventually have to replace the entire mattress even though the spring support will be sufficiently OK.
I know who you are! Lenny Henry
costco have a customer service guarantee we bought our bed from them in January and had an awful time with it, not this bed. Just called them and they have created a refund, can’t say fairer than that. There are very few beds in the market now that don’t turn, even ones without toppers. You are talking about thousands for a turntable bed in many cases.
bought this mattress from amazon for £500 last year. very comfortable. on amazon it is now £700+ from 3rd party sellers
Yes, costco have the best return policy for any item. Period.
Bought the Double, cheers OP
That £159 is for a single. Thanks Paul (y)
This is the one Asda are selling for £71.95 Del - seems to be £109 @ Very?
