This is actually my favourite version of the game I have played. Not for the theme but for the extra deck of cards a player gets to pull from when they roll a 1. These cards do things such as "everyone pass a clue card to their left" "everyone put a clue card face up on the table" "the player whose turn it is names a weapon, whoever has that card has to put it face up on the table". These cards get information out so much quicker and makes it feel like less of a drag.
Kids pick it up very fast! My gson was playing monopoly empire at 4 and only needed to ask us what the cards said. My kids were and still are game players and don't get why kids today don't play. The social aspect is so good for them teaches life skills.
Classic and awesome game. Not bothered by the downtown abbey aspect but might please some. Surprised it says 13+ as my kids have enjoyed this since being 6 and 8. It’s amazing how as adults we can have all the strategy in the world, but a six-year-old can still win by asking random questions, with a little bit of luck thrown in. Tip for playing with younger children: DON’T shuffle the cards after filling the murder envelope. Then when you deal each player gets a roughly even spread of cards and (assuming there are five players or less) at least one person card and one weapon card per player. That makes it a lot easier for younger children to understand and play, in my experience.
Its the same with all these series box sets, you see a cheap set with so many series in it, then you ending up buying the rest of the series at normal prices. In the end it works out cheaper to buy the entire set in one go.

As a kid, I never understood the fascination of Upstairs Downstairs and looked forward to an age where this kind of tripe wasn't on TV. Roll on 40 years and the same formula is rehashed and is just as popular. To me this proves 3 things. a. The British are infatuated by class & fawning over the rich b. ITV doesn't produce a single show that has any appeal to me c. I'm completely out of step with the majority!
Got this for £2.99 at some point, thought it was worth it even though I’ve seen them already - never watched it 😬 (lol)
The movie is not included (sensational or not). Good price for all the episodes though.
