No... only best with two people not many individual savings at all so I wouldn't say it's worth it!

Is there a good way of getting discounts on attractions if you're travelling solo?

Going in 2 weeks and will use this thanks!!

You can easily make the money back with this voucher book, especially if there is more than 2 of you ie group of 4 or 6. For example, the desert safari is usually around £45 per person and this app gives you 3 BOGOF vouchers per retailer. Of course if there's only 2 of you, you'll need to use another voucher before you start to see a saving. But that's easily done by going to Wild Wadi or my personal favourite, Kaleidoscope - the biggest (and nicest) buffet ive ever been to (around £45 pp). You can browse the retailers before buying so you will be able to see if its worth it for you. Also, when using a voucher, you get points back on the app. So after 3 vouchers you have plenty of points to buy a 4th. This worked well for us as we were a group of 8 - worth considering in larger groups when you will pretty much instantly make a saving.

Download the app and register and you can use 2 (2 for 1) offers before you have to buy it. You can't use your free trail vouchers on attractions though, mostly food and drink restaurants.

Sounds like the USA

I’m in Dubai at the moment on holiday and can easily be done on a budget, unless you like eating in 5* hotels, which I don’t at home unless someone else is paying lol Five guys shack shak etc all same price as at home, had fantastic kebabs in the malls.

A country with silly prices and rules? Where a simple mistake can you end you up in prison...yeah no...heat for the deal but cold for country!

I could be wrong but I believe all bars are closed during Ramadan. When I went a few years ago, no alcohol allowed anywhere during the day, not even in hotels!

Apologies. I think someone else wrote sometjing and i quoted the wrong one. Lol. Sorry

My bad.

Do you understand what I wrote? Read again and if you still find yourself hard of learning, I will explain the joke for you. I didn't use emoji to highlight the joke because I thought people would be educated enough to understand words without having to resort to images!

You need to re-read what he wrote.

True - Dubai is incredibly westernised, they serve alcohol in most restaurants and night clubs, it costs a lot more than in the UK. Royal Brunei flight to Dubai is direct to Dubai. I bought the tickets cheaper via Kayak though (back in December). No alcohol was served but you could smell it from some passengers who drank from the bottles bought in Heathrow duty free, no one was arrested for that :-)

OMG super tempted but literally just booked a cheap holiday to Paris.

Let's not forget the 4 stabbing incidents in London on new year's eve.

True. I prefer temperature to be between 15 and 25 degrees. English summer is just perfect for me. :)

Personal taste I guess. Personally, spending May in Dubai is perfect for me as I like it baking!

That will be a way better deal considering the weather. Voting this one cold.

Hotels by the beach are very expensive, but hotels in the city are as cheap or as expensive as want them to be... Plenty of hotels around the Mall of Emirates, with easy access to the Dubai Metro and many hotels are no more than £50-60 a night. Not had a chance to look right now, bud basic budget hotels like Ibis and Hilton Garden Inn are usually this price. Nearly all hotels have a roof top pool and hotels in Dubai always seem to be spotlessly clean.

What dates are you looking at, cant see anything less than £700 for christmas period for flight only?

Yes, if you don't show for the first leg, all subsequent legs will be cancelled. The only leg you can ditch is the final one from London back to Barcelona, IF you have a very long time in between flights or if it leaves from another London airport - in both instances you will get your luggage back. Just don't ever say you have no intention of taking the last leg. I would never chance it for the outgoing flight. It just doesn't work. You have no choice but to go to Barcelona, or pay the price fare and go from London.

Hi, Would this still be the case if there is a change of airport involved as above? I'm sorry fr all the questions but wanting to make sure before I make a huge mistake, it would be saving me over £200 for the dates I'm looking at and due to time constraints it makes it difficult to get a flight to Barcelona first.

You can't do this otherwise all legs will be cancelled. You must do the Barcelona to London leg.

Hello, can someone tell me if I have a flight from Barcelona to Duabi, but I dont want to take the Barcelona to London leg of the journey, just London to Dubai, how would this work?

Can't find the flight from Dubai back to Barc via London. I think that flight must be fully booked.

Does anyone know what the children's ages are please

We did a week at Atlantis (half board) at the tail end of Ramadan in 2012. I would really recommend Atlantis. It's a lovely hotel. The half board options are all decent though I would skip Shawafel (Arabic restaurant) unless you are after a very light meal. There are more restaurants available on the half board deal compared to when I went. During Ramadan, finding food in the hotel is relatively straight forward. All the food joints are open and will usually put up a divider so you can't be seen eating. When we did venture out, we went to places like Kidzania in Dubai Mall. They have a working McDonalds in there with a party room to eat in. Details of the water park closures can be found here

We've just come back from Dubai yesterday and used Royal brunei. The flight was Perfect, staff were ace, we even got to take Snapchat pics of the cockpit. Yes the hotel timings are rubbish but if you want to save a few 100 quid you have to be prepared to check in late n wait around in Lobby.

this flight is also delayed...I've been in Royal Brunei on this sector and it's a very inconvenient time for both departure and arrival and almost always delayed

FLYING FROMBirmingham (BHX) TO Dubai Al Maktoum DWC . Flying out on 26th Dec and back on 10th Jan for £220. I booked already

Definitely stay at the JBR location. We were at the Sofitel.

bargain cheapest i found was ukraine for £399 and i wouldnt even touch that airline

So many hotels in Dubai to recommend just one or two. Depends where you want to stay, your budget etc. Some very nice hotels we like are Atlantis the Palm, Jumeirah Beach, Anantara the Palm, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi and Le Royal Meridien. Would personally look for HB offers but if you are staying on JBR you have far more choice. Prices for meals out are similar to here if not slightly more, just the alcohol is expensive. In nice hotels expect to pay approx £4 for a soft drink,£5 for a coffee and around £10 for a beer/wine.

We stayed at the Movenpick at JBR, really nice and reasonably priced. Such an amazing place, loads to do and see, eating out can be as cheap or expensive as you want. Plenty of fast food in the malls and fancy restaurants to cater for all dietary desires. Taxis are cheap and the super easy to use metro is even cheaper. £5 for a day ticket. We didn't really drink alcohol but did notice it was rather pricey on the room service menu (£10 a pint).

Any hotel recomendations to go with this deal? Also, what prices can you expect to pay for eating out...and alcohol of course

Just got back a few days, absolutely loved it and the kids had a ball.

Decent price for that length of time, Seen the hotel you have mentioned whats it like, is it near the beach and other places for eating/drinking. What is they to keep a family entertained> Whats gadgets and gizmo's got to do with anything? Not sure of Turkish Airlines tho.

there is beach almost everywhere, beautiful buildings, great safe atmosphere, fair doos it's expensive but for the innovative gadgets and gizmos they have I have to say it's pretty amazing, I have been there 18 times and am going there again in December, booked Movenpick hotel and flying on Turkish airlines(I have always gone on Emirates, Turkish is a first) for 2 adults 2 kids it was £3673 from 7 December to 28 December through Expedia.

One of my bucket list places but feel it's a overpriced city in middle of a desert there's better places to visit especially with kids

I would agree. I found it all a £/Dirham American spectacle. Anything commercial dining is incredibly expensive. Views are spectacular but after 5 minutes of each I found more love for the place away from the city center. Amazing cheap eats, surprisingly stunning beach past Ajman in Hamriyah. Khatt hot springs as this was so far away from spending £200pp to go into a water park. Regardless wether they have a new ride that has 900ft fall through a canyon of sharks and platapus's followed by a throw over a raging lava volcano crater. £200pp?! Nowhere near worth it even if I was a hedge fund manager.

OK thanks for the reply. Some valid points but it all depends on individual preferences, some people might prefer to pay less and go through the hassle as it's only 6/7 hour journey each way. But personally I'd go for Emirates.

poor food, poor entertainment below par service and poor quality seating.

Why pay £50/100 extra can you specify the reason, example service as they are both direct flights, for a family of 4/5/6 people can make difference financially.

My comments and those of others have everything to do with the deal, they concern the human rights abuses that go on in the UAE (see the previous comments including links detailing such abuses). There are people who actually care whether or not the country they want to visit is a good place y'know. Who said anything bad about Muslims? I was talking about (among other things) the UAE's apostasy law. It is a perfectly legitimate criticism, especially for people who care about the human rights record of the country they're considering visiting. If there was a deal for a cheap flight to SA during apartheid, it would be perfectly legitimate to talk about apartheid then. Your second comment is a red herring and off-topic BTW.

There's no compulsion in Islam. Again, if the Law is being misused, then that's the authorities. However, if it was so barbaric or extreme then we wouldn't get millions of people emigrating to the Middle East just so that they are earning tax free incomes! Islam is a religion of peace, unfortunately there are too many people with limited understandings of this beautiful religion. People are so oblivious to the truth that they don't even want to open their eyes. Education is the key to success.

I wasn't trying to be condescending what' so ever. It was merely in Arabic and I didn't want to confuse you. However if you are a Muslim/ex muslim etc, or you maybe someone who knows Arabic then I shall upload it. There are hundreds of ex Muslims sites not just on Facebook but on the Web. Some are purely farcical nonsense. Just because a law exists, it doesn't make that law wholly law bearing. There is discretion Let's take for example the law of murder in Islam, there is also an element of clemency whereby blood money can be made as so that the other paltry can forgive or use it as a bargaining plea etc etc. Similarly the UK and many commonwealth countries use the law of manslaughter to get a lesser sentence and for the majority they will plead diminished responsibility or They will plead insanity. What are the crime rates of the UAE, what's the murder rate? Is it as high as the UK, USA or South Africa?
