I've had Duracell batteries leak probably half a dozen times or so over the years, in a couple of cases ruining expensive items. This was despite buying them from reputable shops and the fact that they are supposed to be mostly leak-proof. I've never had a problem with any other batteries, even the cheap supermarket ones. So I normally buy Energizer now and they have been far better.
Eneloop by far the best rechargeable been using them for years.
https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/energy/shopping-guide/batteries Although Philips don't seem to make high quality rechargables so you're likely to be going through more batteries if you buy them. It might work for non-rechargable sizes but Varta look like a better choice generally.
Seriously? Batteries and ethics? Must be complaints from Ann Summers customers (cheeky) :p
