Android phones are the better option. Just say OK Google navigate me to (where ever you want to go) and it will take you where you need to go in the shortest time possible taking traffic and roadworks into consideration. Maby you should consider getting a better data plan? I get 20gb 4G a month with ee for £15 + an extra 5gb because I've got my broadband with them. Never have to worry about running out

Waze? It's been around for years. It is owned by Google and provides those functions you've mentioned.

Also far better for navigation. If you pay for it is is £15 a year, but I don't' like paying for such things! ;-)

Well.. google maps is free and its on ur phone... two best things in one package. And theres tons of features in it especially the search feature. It just has best of everything except two things, one is traffic updates like u said, the other is speed limit, apparently they did add the feature years ago but took it off relativelt soon for some reason.. probably due to sat nav companies threatening lol

It is there on the Phone version of TomTom (and other phone apps too). Standalone Sat nav is just expensive now, you can get the features on your phone for £15 yearly (if you must pay for it!) and only have one device cluttering the car and the windscreen.

It's faster converting DVDs as well. You need to go to the forum to renew the licence when it runs out

Theoretically it is in Beta and requires licence renewal (about) very month, which can be got from the forum. It works but only produces MKV files (which are massive in the case of Blue rays). Of course, these can be resized in other free programs. Also, it doesn't extract everything. Eg pictures, commentaries etc.

What's strange about the license code?

Of course this doesn't copy Blu-rays or it would have been called WinX Blu-ray copy Pro.

MakeMKV is really a different type of program, it rips the DVD/BD to a video file where this copies the DVD or its structure to another DVD, ISO file or DVD folder. And FYI, MakeMKV can be used without the license if just ripping DVDs.

Given that you listed the others I though you or someone else would know if it was a good deal or not. For me, having a quick look around it seems difficult to find a PC with a similar processor & SSD for that price. While it does not have a dedicated graphics card, the Intel HD 530 should be enough to play most games on at least medium settings. It is just the question of whether £489.99 is a deal or if it is better waiting a week for Bank Holiday sales just in case.

I honestly can't give you top-notch PC advice, there's others on HUKD that are much better informed than I am...but as you say, it may be good for a casual gamer. I do think Zoostorm's ebay store is pretty competitively priced and doesn't involve the credit rating wrangling or risk involved (but it's all in black and white on here, so it's up to the buyer to take that risk).

Here's someone running the Intel HD 530 with various games
Processor: Intel Core i7 6700k @ stock speeds
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4
Graphics: Intel HD 530 Integrated Graphics
Storage: 240GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD

Not bad but why get this when
- HDD
- 1366 x 768
- Poor processor (in comparison to similarly priced laptops)

This HP 250 G5 would be better surely considering,
+ SSD
+ Slightly better processor
+ Full HD

Even the Lenovo V110 would be better with,
+ SSD
+ i5 6200U
The only downside being with this is that it is 1366 x 768, but even so this would be better than the Asus laptop offering a much faster CPU and an SSD which is incomparible to HDD speeds.

The only reason to opt for the Asus one would be for the extra 4GB of RAM for specific heavy duty applications such as Adobe programs.
Only 736p which really lets this down, I wouldnt spend more then £300 on a laptop with just a hd screen.
lol

Resolution: 1366 x 768

Depending on what you are looking for there are other options, but not … Depending on what you are looking for there are other options, but not cheaper:There's a 256GB SSD+1TB/16GB RAM/1050Ti Inspiron Gaming 15 7000 from Dell for £980 until the 22nd (10% off code INSPIRON10) http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-7567-laptop/pd?&ref=gaming-page£809 for the GTX1050 4GB, 256GB SSD (no mechanical drive) and i5 7300-HQ. Worse processor than this (no hyperthreading, just 4 cores), but battery life will be better and 4GB RAM will be better on the GPU. HDD vs SSD is a toss up depending on your use. 128GB+1TB vs 256GB. Same link as above. You can probably add an extra harddrive, but you can't add more RAM to the GPU, so the 4GB is more future proof. There's a 17" Omen from LaptopsDirect with a GTX1060 http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/hp-omen-17-w196na-core-i5-6300hq-8gb-1tb-128gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-1-z6l29ea/version.asp I just ordered the 1050Ti Dell with an extra 4% cashback (hopefully) through work, so £950 or so all in. The battery life sold me on it. Up to 11 hours with light use (per actual tests), 7 hours or so video, maybe 3 hours gaming. Most others seem to have much worse battery life.

Link doesn't launch for me.

Is the dell a refurb? I've found some good refurb options around a similar price for the Inspiron but I could be tempted by the one you listed as I have a 15% off code but unsure which laptop you tried to list (well precisely which I should say)
Hmm,

I asked the 2 questions about (above backpack and free game) so cheers for confirming you got a backpack @gerdleah. It now appears laptopsdirect have sneakily REMOVED the photos of the backpack and have updated their listing with the FREE rocket league game with the purchase.

I asked them to confirm if you get the backpack now or not but they haven't replied to my email, so I'm gonna buy another laptop elsewhere instead.
I have an MSI GE72 6QD from last year. It's essentially the predecessor to this laptop and I was very impressed with it (even if I am new to PC gaming).
The GTX 1050 is supposed to give a 30% improvement on performance over the 960M in my laptop, and mine can run MGS5, Dishonored 2 and The Witcher 3 on Very High at 30-45 fps. Not perfect but enough for more casual gaming. Back then that laptop cost £950 as a special deal, so this seems like a bargain.

You might want to find a laptop with more VRAM in its graphics card, as this only has 2GB. Might not be very futureproof. You might want to do some more research and not take my word for it though. The processor used seems a bit overkill compared to the graphics card, but it will allow for very quick encoding of videos if that's your thing.

What I can vouch for in this laptop (as it is very similar to mine) is excellent audio out of the jack; a vast collection of IO; solid IPS display; great boot times (thanks to the SSD + HD); good RGB backlit keyboard and passable trackpad.

Mine was reportedly quite hard to open up and you may void your warranty, so consider that. However you can most likely upgrade the available RAM to at least 16GB. Some distributors will arrange this for you on request (as mine did) so you can keep your warranty and avoid breaking something.

i got a refurb dell t7500 (t5500 is smaller and should have got) for 160 from ebay. xeon e5630 processor which has passmark 4500 ish and 12 gb of ram. potential to upgrade to faster xeon and had massive psu for twin graphics in future. so lots of refurb bargains on ebay but this has amazon backing... wonder what max cpu upgrade is?
2220 passmark. so a weaker i3. can get refurb i3 on ebay for 110 to 120 and maybe i5 for this price. but here you have amazon guarantee. eould check psu but cpu bottlenecked by anything over a gtx 750ti anyhow? this plusb750ti for say 75 quid will do you 1080p gaming on low settings or maybe 720p 60fps maxed out.
awful

I wouldn't worry, the processor is slower than some i5's and the reviews of the pc were pretty poor in general. You get get better stuff on ebay for lower prices, even if you have to pop a bit extra ram in.

Seems i missed it, only used very good showing now at £340.

Well for me at least anyway.

What do people think about this? Seems like a good deal for an i5 6th gen and ssd, and its listed for £380 on amazon. Anyone got any other suggestions around the same price? Edi… Read more
Wouldn't touch a Lenovo laptop, they're so plasticy and poorly put together, even Acer make better laptops!

I'm sure Lenovo do some sort of high end stuff but their lower end stuff is pretty poor, so specs alone just don't cut it...
Regardless of lack of full HD, seems like a great spec laptop for the price. Hot
