OK, I admit that I did laugh a tiny little bit.But it does seem cruel to mock a sad lonely person endlessly coming home to an empty house with only a light bulb to greet him.Such people really do exist.Oh, oh I see.

Being able to control my lights from anywhere, or have them turn on as I enter a room or hallway is a convenience. You presume that I'm lonely because I adopt a convenient technology you think is redundant?

Now, whenever I visit friends or family, I genuinely find myself wandering into a dark room expecting the lights to turn on, before realising I have to do it manually.

To me, it's like you're asking me why I use email instead of letters. It's quicker and easier to get the desired result, and therefore better.

As I said, if you can afford it, why not get it? Especially if you're fascinated by modern technology.

You attempt to mock me? Just because my opinion diverts to yours? That's sad.

The toaster is only any good for square bread, if you buy the tall Warburtons bread it'll only toast 2/3rds of it. They're £26 delivered individually on Amazon, so if you only want one (or are ordering from Tesco for delivery rather than click & collect), it might be worth getting from Amazon instead for their better returns policy.

Yeah I'd seen it on Amazon too, I think John Lewis also have it for the same price but then pay delivery/collection price on top. But as I was looking for the set, I went with Tesco to get the £5 off e-code and got free click and collect to pick up tomorrow! Kettles/Toasters aren't cheap, so hopefully this does the job

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to comment. When it comes to tap …Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to comment. When it comes to tap issues, our engineers would always aim to provide a repair in the first instance, only replacing a tap if this is necessary in order for the issue to be rectified. Our engineers go out with their vans fully loaded to repair most things they come across however, we would not be able to stock all varieties of taps. You are well within your rights to advise that you would prefer to source your own tap and we would then attend further to replace this.If you would like to discuss anything further please get in touch via heretohelp@homeserve.com . Kindest regards Rebecca Here To Help Team

Hi Rebecca and thanks for replying.

However you've deflected the issue - the cartridge in the tap was faulty but rather than fix that, the "plumber" chose to replace the tap instead because he wasn't sure of his ability to fix it! Further, a new appointment was booked for Tuesday but no one bothered to turn up!

I'm sure I'll hear more excuses but it's really poor service, or rather no service.

I'm currently using the Costco 'Starbucks custom roasted' Kirkland Signature House Blend. Very nice espresso. Smooth but rich with a nice caramel flavour.

Delonghi make great machines, I have owed 2, either end of the price range and all I would say is the price difference just adds electronic displays and pre set Latte etc, some even come with Auto Cremas, the inners are pretty much the same across the range. If it's your first machine I would go for the 2600, 2800 or 4200 they range from around £170 to £230. Do everything you need and make fantastic coffee, far far better than any Dolce Gusto or Nespresso. Depending on the Beans you purchase it costs approx 10p per cup for a single espresso shot, 12-15p with milk. Buy one you won't regret, just think coffee shop and more.

I couldn't figure it out either. I don't think it's any major revision, might even be a third party vendor SKU for tracking in that the one from delonghi is 120 and everyone else is 123. The machine is identical otherwise.

Motion sensor night guard/torch - £5 : Homebase instore

Found 5th FebFound 5th Feb
These are great, motion sensor night light + detachable to turn into a torch. Usually £12+ on Amazon. Lowest I’ve seen is £8.99 on eBay
I have these. A few things I've found. They get very hot when they are plugged in to the point where I believe they are inherently faulty by design - I don't understand why they get so hot. I'm worried they are going to melt or catch fire or something - the heat can't be good for the battery.

Also - in moderate lighting, I found they will still switch on with movement which is annoying - needs to be pretty bright or they incorrectly think it's night-time. One of mine also keeps randomly going on and off every few seconds constantly whilst plugged in despite no-one being near it and nothing triggering the movement sensor - seems to have a mind of it's own.

As a torch they're great and they've worked when there has been a power cut.
