I've not followed him since the flip sorry days. But remember hearing about his shoes. Think he now rides for another company (or is that boards I can't remember).
Thanks for the link! He did, unfortunately he shoots animals with a rifle now so don't think he cares much for Vegan lines these days (fierce)
Thanks for taking the time to link the Globes, didn't know about those. Looks like they make some good options Appreciated (y)
Some Globe's are vegan now. I'd prefer them not to be, I don't think petrochemical faux leather is the answer. Cows will be killed anyway, so if it's a good tannery then it makes sense to use the leather. Otherwise use waxed canvas (Globe do waxed canvas too) or recycled leather or other non petrochemical solutions. Having said that many tanneries likely aren't, and cause pollution, run off into rivers etc. And it's good to have choice. And obviously if you're vegan it's fully understandible not to want to wear dead cow, regardless of whether the cow may have died or not. But yeah, some of the new GS and GS Chukkas by Globe use vegan faux leather. E.g: https://eu.globebrand.com/products/gs-chukka-light-browncrepe?variant=31620155605046 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Globe-Skateboarding-Shoes-Brown-16309/dp/B07RSCG338/ Likely other models too. The GS Chukka look good by the way. Although only tried them on. A proper polyurethane footbed, and look smart. Here you go: https://eu.globebrand.com/search?q=vegan I thought this was waxed canvas, but it's PU coated: https://eu.globebrand.com/products/gs-dark-navywaxed?variant=31620246503478 But should hold up better and be better in wet conditions obviously than canvas. The rest are synthetic leather mostly or canvas.
https://www.iamgoingvegan.com/best-vegan-skate-shoes/ I remember Rowley having some vans vegan free shoes way back. Found a list of synthetic suede skate shoes above. :)
